I am looking for a new posi carrier for my 1970 Olds Cutlass. I currently have a 3.08 open carrier. This car will be driven 50 % town, 50% hghway. No racing. I may go down to 2.78.

Can anyone suggest a specific brand and model carrier for me? Could I find a rebuilt orginal Olds posi carrier?

I am assuming this is a 12 bolt cover rear diff with the 10 bolt ring gear...??? YES?
I have ONE eaton AFTERMARKET J DRAce modified unit to fit your 3.08 -3.23 gear set. Should be a fairly easy swap.

remove your ring gear from your carrier bolt it on the new carrier and reinstall- I provide the extra shims you MAY or MAY not need. ANd the carrier will come with the correct NEW carrier bearings needed to install the unit directly into the 12 bolt 'O' housing assembly. Just PM me and will discuss it IF you are interested.
