The Salesman's SPECS booklet tells you EXACTLY what the standard axles were for each drivetrain combination, as well as the available options.
For the Cutlass line in 1971, the standard axle ratio with TH350 and 350 2bbl (RPO L65 motor) was 2.56:1. With the L74 350 4bbl motor it was 2.73:1. Note that in the Cutlass Supreme line, standard axle was 2.56:1 with either of those motors.
