Has anyone used T.A Performance rear end girdle/diff cover? Just wondering if they are worth the $$.

I was checking those out too, they seem like solid covers. $159 on eBay with hardware & gasket. Supposedly the added support on the main bearing caps helps strengthen the rear end. I like the look of them too.

 

Yeah they do look like a quality piece I might go for it at this point what's another $160.
I think it would look kinda tough back there too.

It's on of those "add it to the list" type of deals, haha. I think it's a worthy modification. Love the look of the beefy differential cover from behind the car.

 

T/A has the thickest cover of most all of the aftermarket girdle cover. Most other knock offs are 1/2 the thickness and really do not do what they are suppose to.

The girdle cover is to stop cap deflection of the carrier when the ring and pinion a slammed hard off the line. THE THICJKER THER BETTER on these covers ...

T/A is the thickest.

There are companies that USE T/A to build there covers and then put there name on it Nitro gear and axle being one of them. I sell these Nitro covers 149.00

They EXACT as t/a but say Nitro gear and axle instead of T/A.

They are worth the money for extra strength. I use mine to pre load for nitrous shock. The caps have a way of moving upon engagement. This is also a way to prevent movement for serious torque issues.

 

I've been running one on my 12 bolt Chebby axle for over 25 years now....never an axle problem....even with slicks, manual trans, and 4.11's.
Just took it apart 3 years ago to drop down to 3.73's to help fuel economy, with a tremec overdrive tranny....NO sign of bearing fatigue or cap deflection. For $160, cheap insurance, plus it has a plug to check oil level, and the aluminum helps keep it cool on those long trips as well.

 

I have had one on the Chevy 12 bolt in my race car for 7 years. Never a drop of fluid leaking from the cover. The piece is worth the cost for the addded strength & looks. The thick casting is impressive.
