Rear end code 72 cutlass?
The "SA" code means it is a 2.73 open differential.
I don't know what the "B" means. And I'm wondering if you have a late '72 production car and the 159 2 is a date code (the 159th day of 1972 which would be in the front half of June 1972). Just speculating here.

SA = 2:73 non-posi
B = Buick plant
159 = 159th day of the year
2 = 2nd shift
You have the A-casting,as I call it.It has a large "A" on the top of the pumpkin,and an "A" on each side(frontside),where the tubes go in.These rears came in the 71-72 Cutlass/442 that were not built in Lansing,and they came in all 71-72 Skylark/GS cars.If you have the original drums,you will notice a small Buick trishield on the outer edge of the face.
