Need posi

If this is for your 1970 its not really a 12 bolt, but a Type O 10 bolt. Chebby has the same number of fasteners on the inspection cover as hold the ring gear on. Olds does not. The Type O was used from 1967 through 1970 and have a limited supply of parts available. I believe Monzaz has reproduced the Type O posi carrier (or more correctly called a limited slip... but same function as the positrac made by other GM manufacturers). I would encourage you to contact him for a new one. He may also have a used or restored one if you can't afford the new one at this time. 507OLDS may be another source for a used or restored one. I think you'll enjoy the difference changing from a 2.56 to a 3.23. Good Luck on your project! John

My 442 has a 323 gear, but was ordered with out posi. The 256 came in my SX with posi from factory. The 256 rear in under the bench in my garage as i have installed a 308 posi big 10 bolt in its place. Is Monzaz a company or a person on this site?

Both Monzaz and myself, have the posi units.I think he might have more in-stock than me right now,as I have a lot of orders for complete rears waiting. The new units will fit the 3:08/3:23 ratios, and will also work with the new Richmond gears. The posi unit in the 2:56 rear will work with 2:56/2:78 ratios. It can be used for the 3:08/3:23 gears, but you will need a spacer.I have a few of those made once in awhile, and Jim(Monzaz) might have some as well.
