Trying to organize the garage led me to pulling the guts out of what I thought was a 1973-77 Chebby mid-size rear end then scrapping the rest. I was expecting the corporate 8.5 unit but what I found has different casting numbers on it than what I expected. Does anybody recognize the numbers on this and know if I can install this in a 1972 Cutlass housing?

It's an 8.5"


2.73-5.57 ratios. Casting number for the bolt in axle is 725
and the c-clip casting number is 410408

 

Thank you for your help guys! I was expecting the 410408 but am glad that it will still work.
