which 10 bolt?
which 10 bolt?
having trouble finding out which 10 bolt is in my car. some places say 7.5 others say 8.5 . when i measured the size of the cover it was the size for the 8.5 but the cover isnt roundish its more like a square like the 7.5 is. someone took the tag off it so i have no idea what it is. anyone have any ideas lol?
ok got a few pics the best i could of it. i found on some website that said if you measure the very bottom center bolt to the adjacent bolt next to it you can tell which one it is. it said 3 1/4 for 7.5" and 3 3/4 for 8.5". when i measured it was 3 1/4 so im assuming its a 7.5 rear. i'd pull the pan to find what the gear ratio is but the fluid was changed not too long ago.

i found this locker that i want to run with 3.73's http://www.jegs.com/i/Detroit+Locker...A319/10002/-1#
i want to run c-clip eliminators and all i found was this one for stock axles http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku . it says that machining is required for the set. is there anywhere else that has them that dont require machining? am i better off going with custom axles or should i just plop a 9" under it lol?
thanks

If you have a 7.5 it is not worth putting any money into. The c clip eliminators say it will only work on the bigger cars and some trucks with the 8.5.
Since 8.5 Gbody rear ends are expensive and kinda hard to find, it might be more worth it to get a 9 inch. It also depends how much power you are planning on getting from you engine and if you want to go drag racing with it.

the more i've been thinking about it, the 9" will probly go under it. the future mystery engine will probly have in the neighborhood of 600hp when its all done with. also if i go with a built tranny it will have a transbrake so i think the 7.5 is deffinately out lol.
thanks for the help tho guys, if you got any more suggestions on what to use i'm all eyes .

If you go to gbody forum, their is a moser engineering guy that just joined their and he said he is giving some pretty good deals an his stuff. It wont be for a Gbody but he still might be able to give a pretty good deal if you talk to him.
arent the g-bodys rears the same mounting wise like the control arm points and coil spring perches, its just the width? would be nice to just get the 9" moser housing for the g-body and make up the width in the rims backspacing.
rears and parts
Well that posi you were looking at for the 7.5 I have for 325.00 NEW if you are interested.
As for rear ends. I have Moser connections too and can build you a 12 bolt chevy Moser rear with 33 spline bolt in axles for your G-body if you like. 1845.00 for a Posi 33 spline eaton 12 bolt gear choice 3.42 3.55 3.73 3.90 4.10 All new timkin bearings. Will use standard GM mid size ends like a 70 chevelle so you can use a multitude of disc brakes in the aftermarket or your standard gm drum brake sysytem. Totally up to you. Best of all your still ALL GM .
Sorry not a big Ford fan...Any part of it.
I also build my own custom 10 bolt 8.5 rear and can build this rear up with 30 spline axles posi gear choice for 1399.00 and comes with double adjustable upper control arms. SO you can adjust the pinion angle to what ever you like...they have sherical ends also for NO binding.
Just PM me if you would like more info. Jim

The Delta 88s are B Bodies.
All the suspension is exactly the same from 78 to 96.
That's right the Impala SS suspension fits your Delta, but I don't think the rear will fit since in 91 the rear became 1/2 inch wider and a 5x5 bolt pattern on the wheels
God, I miss my Delta

g-body B body
The late 80's 1982-1986 the Pontiac Bonneville was switched from B-body to G-body plateform. This car and the Parisienne were all g-body chassis then. and were totally interchangeable with all other mid size monte carlo regal cutlas cars. Now if it was a canadian built car it was on the b-body platform...Weird huh??? Jim
Delta 88 was never a G-body car. so that would be a NO on the g-body campatablity. they are not interchangable.
