I think there are some softwares that can manipulate pictures to make them smaller but I don't know their names. My avatar is only 7k and someone used photoshop to colorize it from another picture so that's how this one came about. Maybe photoshop....

Posting pics

Assuming that you're using Windows, you can use the generic Microsoft Paint program to decrease the size. Open the picture in Paint and then save it with a different name. This will usually cut the size to about 50%. It reduces quality some, but it's a very simple solution.

When I posted before I didn't realize that the size limit is 30 something. I don't think my suggestion will get the size that low. If you have the patience www.cardomain.com is a nice way to post pictures.

Photobucket.com is a great website that will store huge pictures for you. I have a few autocad drawings on there that I rendered at 4200 x 3600 resolution. They even have a great little upload program that you just drag and drop pics into and tell it which folder (if any).

For pic resizing I use Irfanview. It's completely free and is great. With it you can turn down the color depth to decrease file size or of course decrease the resolution or crop your pic. It also has a batch feature which works great if you're doing it to a whole folder.
