ac conversion

I have a 71 Cutlass Supreme that had no heat or a?c when I bought it. I think after doing a little research it seems as though it would be easier to reinstall a/c. But it will be way expensive I think?

Do you have the blower motor and heater core? if you do you can buy an AC delete unit and just go with the heater, otherwise its junk yard time.

Good luck

The firewall cutouts for A/C are different and larger than those for heat-only. As a result, the heater box will not cover them. Your options are to either weld up the holes (the complete firewall is now available as a repro) or to get an aftermarket heat-only firewall box that is shaped to replace the A/C box.

Having a hard time understanding exactly what you're looking at. When you say it has no heat or AC, do you mean that the fan is not blowing? Or do you mean that when you slide the dash control from Cold to Warm that there's no change in temp? You could be looking at something as simple as a replacement dash switch, thermal limiter switch, need a freon charge, or a disconnected cable behind the dash. After that it gets a little more complicated. If you have no heat, you might also have a blocked heater core, not uncommon on an older car.
