oil guage help?

I bought a 84 cutlass a couple weeks ago, it's got a big block 455 that I was told was out of a 68 delta in it. The last guy didn't hook any guages up but had them in the trunk, the temp and volt guage was easy but the kit doesn't come with a bushing for 1/8" to connect to the spot where the old sending unit went. is there somewhere else I could connect this thing to?

There is only one oil pressure port on the motor - the 1/8" NPT tapped hole at the front. Do you have a mechanical or electrical gauge? The installation kits for mechanical gauges typically come with a 1/8 NPT fitting. Most electrical oil senders are either 1/8 NPT or 1/4 NPT. Any good hardware store or most well-stocked auto parts stores have drawers full of brass pipe adapters.

Normally you'd get an adapter like this, but this likely won't fit in the small space available.

In this case, you probably want a female-to-female adapter and a 1/8 NPT nipple to extend it.

Thanks for the reply, the kit was openned but the bag with the adapters was still sealed, and no 1/8" =( ...I'm a pipe fitter by trade, too bad we don't use 1/8" .. I'll run to the hardware store and see what I can find
