timing chain cover gasket

timing chain cover gasket

got a fel-pro engine gasket set timing cover gasket not even close. should i just use rtv? is there a gasket that would work

Which engine and which gasket? Never had a problem with FelPro gaskets.

What do you mean not even close? The cover itself slides on 2 dowel pins. These must be clean so cover goes all the way on. The gasket itself is paper thin and should need no rtv but a little high tack or the like can be used.

i am an idiot wasnt paying attention put it on cover matched fine. ive never had problem with fel-pro either thanks though

I clean the surface, put a thin layer of RTV down (spread with my finger) put the gasket on, then spread a thin layer on top of the gasket, then put cover on.

This is the way I've been doing my gaskets, and I haven't had a problem
