Shoulder Belts
I have a pair of factory shoulder belts to install in my 67 442 and am wondering if anyone knows exactly where the factory anchor holes are behind the headliner. I do not want to remove the headliner as it is original and perfect. I can't find a measurement to go by, does anyone have shoulder belts in their 67 or know what the measurement is.
I had this to deal with after I installed a new headliner on my '72.( although I had the advantage of seeing where the holes were before the install) If a '67 is anything like later years, you can feel through the headliner using your fingertips for a raised boss with a dimple-like depression. When you find the two close together, measure the distance between them and then verify with your mounting bracket. Nothing worse than punchimg an unwanted hole in a nice headliner. Chumley

Due to a photo that "Oldsmobility" posted of a roof without headliner I was able to find my mounting holes for the shoulder belts. There is a raised pad right in front of the coat hook with three holes in it. The front and rear holes are for the seat belts. I pushed hard with my finger and found the holes, I then pushed a scribe through the hole and then pushed the bolt through the hole and mounted the shoulder belts in the threaded holes. I feel so much safer now when driving. The 68's built before Jan 1, 68 without belts will also have the same threaded mounting pads
