convertible shoulder belts
#2
yes they were, very easy just tough to find original type shoulder belts. The female end mounts behind the top compartment trim panel next to the back seats and connects to a male end that mounts to the bolt holding the female end of the lap belt. I have the assembly manual diagrams I can scan and post.

here are the pages for the shoulder belts, you can install shoulder belts for the rear occupants as well. These drawings are the same as in the 70 manual as well. I was recently told that shoulder belts in convertibles were a dealer option only and that is why so few of the convertibles came with them. I have only seen one other 70 convertible with front shoulder belts none with rear, matter of fact I have yet to see rear shoulder belts in a 70 hardtop. By the way I may have extra plastic buckle retainers for the female stowage if you need them

Hi Steven,
I am restoring a 72 442 convert. I have the rear shoulder buckles but I am missing the tongue part that attaches were the lap belts go. I could have them reproduced by a company but I don't have the measurements. Would you know how long they were? If so I would greatly appreciate if you could forward on those measurements. Also how much are you asking for the plastic buckle retainers? Thanks in advance for your help.
Thanks,
Karl
