Rear window installation

I'm ready to install the rear glass. Does the surface where the butyl strip goes have to be primed or anything? The upper and sides are primed, and the lower part is painted(from recent paint job). Any other tips on installing? Oh yeah, one other thing. Didn't pay close attention when removing the glass. Does the concave side face in or out? This is a '72 Supreme. Thanks, Chumley

I would think that it would be required to have all the metal seating areas well primed and painted to reduce any possibility of rust. Of course it should be completely cured before intalling the window.

I saw on one of those car TV shows they used a primer around the glass and frame before laying down the glass seal.
