Window Seals - installation pics

I got my window seals from Metro Moulded today, they look to be pretty good quality. I took some photos of the installation, maybe they will be helpful to someone, someday.

Not sure about the A body cars, or 2 doors, but this is pretty easy to do on the large 4 door cars.

Below is a link to a PhotoBucket album slideshow. There are descriptions under each photo, they are much easier to read if the slideshow is paused and gone through manually. I can't change the default speed to make it any slower.

Thanks for looking!

Changing out the watherstripping is comming up soon on my list of to do jobs. How hard was it to remove the weatherstrip from the windows? Was there much resistance? By the way it looks good.

There is some resistance, nothing crazy though. I gave them a tug to get them started, then pushing them out with my thumb was easier than pulling. Also, mine were not glued in, so I did not glue in the new ones. There is that little bump near the top of the channel, I assume to hold them in. It seems to do it's job.

As the pics show, the car needs almost all the other weatherstripping replaced, but that will have to come a little later. For now, at least it doesn't leak anymore when it's raining. When it was parked outside, the drivers side seal was so bad I was putting a piece of foam pipe insulator around the front door glass edge, then slamming to door on it to keep water out.

I need paint too!

You mean the strips that go all along the door? I haven't done those just yet, but they are on the list. You inspired me to give Metro a try, I am pleased with the window seals, and their pricing, I'll be going through them again when I do the rest.

Thanks for the slideshow and descriptions. I'll give that a try soon enough. One advantage you have over me though. I have to tape off my paint to make sure I don't chip it during this process....

So now we can chaulk up Metro as a supplier of quality parts that fit???

Great photos. You have no idea how much the photos help us non-mechanical folks feel confident in tackling these projects. Thanks again.

I figured the 2-doors may be a little different. The paint in the door jambs on my mine is hardly worth protecting, I can't wait to have her painted.

I think Metro was decent. I have nothing to compare it to though, except that price is much more affordable than the others. The only one close in price was SoffSeal.
