Rear window..

I have a question maybe someone can help me out with...I have a 71 Cutlass S..took the rear glass out to clean the rust out..and replace the seal...Now does this use a gasket to re install it.. or does it just use the roll of windshield glass tape that comes in a roll...any help would be appreciated..

No gasket used,I use the rope, but buy it from a company that sells a lot of it so it isin't old.

No gasket, just the butyl rubber ribbon tape that comes in a roll. Be sure to use 3/8" an not 5/16". If you were to have a glass shop install the glass, they would use a urethane caulk adhesive which is better than the butyl tape.
