Master Cylinder rod removal

Ok I'm stumped. 67 cutlass has a leaky Master cylinder and I don't think the fluid was ever changed. Rust jello in the bottom of the reservoirs! Pulled it off no issues. Unlatched from the brake pedal at the clevis. Going to purchase a new one and install. Seems straight forward so far. But I can NOT figure out how to unhook the rod from this thing. It's a Moraine (guessing original) with no booster. I read about putting it in a vise and hammering? There is a small screw in one of the wells. Every time I post I get th

e correct answers sooo... lol
