Well a 455 should be 396021F and a 350 should be 395558.

Oldsmobile has a full 90 degree "V" with there engines. i am not sure what Chevy is but it is not 90 degree. also Oldsmobile heads are square. this makes them physically wider than some of the other brands.

pros cons

can someone give me some details of your knowledge about these cars.this cars is a I described in newbee section it even has headers that look to be correct working AC AND ORIGINAL POINT DISTRIBUTOR. I started it last night, let it run for about 40 minutes no leaks no issues havent driven since summer this car has been sleeping for 13 years couldnt find any vacum leaks even the carb seem to choke perfect once it warmed it pulled to idle. this is so exciting. did these cars come with 14`or 15` tires wheels? the only thing I can see is a dry area of the drop top with a very very small tear im sure can be repaired easily

14". The only ones to have 15" stock were the Hurst Olds. If you have 15" rims then they were swapped on, but that's not a bad thing.

I'm not sure about the 69 but I think you should be OK so long as the offset id correct. You should be able to test fit before you buy to make sure there are no clearance issues.

You can ID a Chevy engine by scratching the metal of the block with your fingernail. Chevy engines are cast from hardened toothpaste, that is why Chevy racers always try to find the blocks with 32 bolt mains!

Wanna bet?

Nearly every production car V8 ever built has 90 degrees between the cylinder banks. This is a naturally balanced configuration for harmonics. There have been some oddball V angles, but these are few and far between, and usually due to other factors. For example, the V8 used in the second gen Taurus SHO used a 60 degree V, mainly to allow it to fit in a transverse FWD platform that was only designed for a 60 degree V6. Volvo uses a similar 60 deg V8 in the X90, again due to the space limitations of the transverse mounting. In both cases, balance shafts are required due to the unnatural harmonics.
