Ok, got pretty much everything from the datatagdecoder site, but what's that Z in the trim code?

Built 3rd week of April, lower colour Azure Blue, top colour Black Vinyl, interior option Black Vinyl Bucket...

The Z has been a mystery to a lot of us the Olds world. We've had a few discussions and some recently. I don't know the answer.

Some believe its interior related, maybe seats, or belts or interior trim...

Another might be cars destined for the Canada market., but what exactly?

Here is a link with the most posts, but there are others posts to search here on CO.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, don. The thread was an interesting read but inconclusive, ah well.

In the meantime, I'm wondering if I should be looking for anything in particular on this car (independent of the Z code). It'll be coming home later this month, as if I need any more. The car's in rough condition - needs quarters and the entire front clip is from a '72. I'm wondering if the interior package with the limited slip and boxed arms suggest anything else about the car and it's features that I should look for.

There was no build sheet found when the PO swapped gas tanks but I don't think the seats have been examined or carpet removed.
