rear end change,

I was wondering if it was possible to take a 9 inch rear assembly out of a Lincoln continental or a crown Victoria, ihave an extra rear casing from drum to drum, for my 65 starfire, so was wonderin if I could take all the clips from control arms , and what ever else, and weld them on the ford set up, my goal is to get a gear ratio over 4:10 or so, I know I can get 3:55 from fabcraft, but I want more, also heard of a 4:33 gear for my starfire from a police car ,or a car with a tow pakage , but im having no luck with that, so if anyone has any info on this subject , would really help me out, thanks ,will.

I don't know what the rearend width on a 65 Starfire is but I do know that we did many 9" change overs and we always used one out of a Granada (not all Granada's have a 9") but they were the best width wise for the swap and had a steel stamped housing so much easier to weld brackets onto. Some of the other Ford rearends have a 4 link type suspension and make it more difficult to attach bracketry.

Some of the rearends in these also had disc brakes.

Just some info.
