Went for Starfire, ended with Starfire and an 57 88

Well boys and gals. I own a 63 Starfire and a 57 olds 88 I think. The deal was good I believe. Most of the Starfire is there, some rust but no much. Interior would have to be redone as well. All the chrome and windows are in tacked, the 394 is sitting in her. The frame looks good from what I see. Will know more in the spring when I get her out. As for the 57, couldn't leave it. All the chrome is good except the bumpers, all glass is good.Front fenders and doors are good, rears are dented. Some interior is salvageable. I will get more photos in the spring

looks like they are in cold storage for the next couple of months!
wait till spring and check them out when they are not stuck in the frozen tundra before making a decision about parting the 57 out.
just my thoughts

The 57 looks solid guys. Even the orignal back seat is still in place. Just needs a cleaning. The passenger rear fender was hit by a pole, not sure if it can be pulled. The engine don't run, missing a head and covers. I would sell the car whole before parting, to me it wouldn't take much for a pro. All the chrome and glass is there. Bumpers are not the best

They both sound like fun projects! Kinda sad to see them out in the weather though. Oh well, if they were nice enough to be kept in a heated garage you'd likely not have a chance to buy them at a price you could afford Congrats on finding treasure!

The big question is do you have room for both? That was my problem when I bought my 57 and already have a 59 Edsel something had to go….Edna has left the building and the Olds is warm and dry.
Good luck with both projects!

I do have room for the both but no great storage yet. Just block them up and tarp them. I couldn't leave the 57. She was saying, save me. Lol. I will get the home in April and get some better photos for you guys.

Should be a 371, if original....not sure. Is it a 2bbl. or 4bbl.?

Is the 394 a Starfire engine? I'm not sure what was sold in Canada.

The 394 in the 63 is different then the 394 from 62, they will interchange and bolt together with the transmission and motor mounts are the same, if you check the water pump housing the 63 is aluminum and the 62 is cast iron. There are other suttle changes made between the years as well

The 57 has a 371 with 4 BBL. I tried to see if the 57's where built in Canada at all but never heard back. Mine was built in Lansing MI.
I would pull the plugs on both and spray some Sea Foam penetrant or something along that line and let them soak. Maybe you can keep the original drive train?
The thing that appealed to me with the 57's where there lines , especially the back end…..

Oh, well the guy that has the spare 394, it is a 63 then. Aluminum water pump and covers. Also the 57 I bought, is that a 88. I think it is, was looking online at 88's. They look similar.
