Rear Ended!

So i get my smog removed, and water pump replaced, and i am feeling pretty good at how great my 307 is running. then, of course, some guy decides to smash my parked car...

I found the tail light but now onto replacing the bumper, trying to pop out the shock absorber, and replacing the gas tank...

Floor or bumper jack between frame and bumper will usually get the shock extended again.

I jumped in my cutlass and drove all throughout my town searching for the guy. then when i get back to my car, i find guys van who hit me parked half a block down the street So i called the police and parked my car to block him in so he wouldn't be able to drive off.

Going to go today for an estimate

Awesome! Throw the book at the POS!

Hit-and-runs are just as bad as car thieves....they took away the car you knew and left you with the 1 they F'd-up for you.

Replace it instead. Should you get hit again, the shock may cave in easier, reducing the amount of protection. I am sure someone on this site has some!

Awesome!! We need a "high five" smiley...
On the good side, it looks like he lost a headlight and some plastic crap.
Keep us posted.

Well, i went to my local pick and pull and found the exact taillight!

Also took the car to get an estimate, and the bodyshop guys were just worried about finding a bumper and shock absorber. I might see if the guys insurance can just cut me a check and i'll do it myself. I worry they will just pop out the shock absorber and not replace it. If i get a check i will be in need of a rear bumper, bumper filler, and maybe the reverse light panel, though i might be able to straighten it out.

My right front and right rear bumpers are pushed in, it's fortunate you found this jerk so easily. Mine were like that when I got it, hope I won't have too much trouble getting them tweaked.

They'll total it out, and you'll be stuck with a salvage title. Make sure you get enough $ to buy another nice one. You'll only be able to buy a rusty junker for 1k

I used a 3 lb sledge to get my bumper shock back in place. I can just push my bumper in whenever I want, but it's very hard to find Delta 88's in the junkyards here.

Its tough to find them out here as well, and when i do find them, its always in a junkyard with rear end damage lol

There were only a few absorbers made differently - check with the yard, and see what other cars had that same absorber.
If it leaked, you should replace it.
