What to do around Cherokee Village,Arkansas? or southeast Missouri.

I'll be spending a week in Cherokee Village,Arkansas.

Anyone have any ideas for things to do within about an hour or so drive?

Looks like Pocahontas,Jonesboro and Mtn. Home Arkansas are all within an hour away.

How about southeast Missouri? Looks like Mark Twain National Forest is pretty close.

Thanks for any tips.

If you like to canoe, you should canoe down the Spring River. It's pretty fun. They have a zip line in Hardy, Ar that takes you over the Spring River. Never done it but heard it is fun. You should go to Mammouth Springs, Ar, it's only 15 miles from Chrokee Village, it's the startng point of the Spring River. There is a car museum in Hardy don't remember what cars are in there, it's been years since I've been in there.

You're welcome. If you like fishing, Spring River is full of trout. Jonesboro is a nice town population of 60 thousand. They have abundant of places to eat, nice movie theatre, and overall a nice place. What brings you to Northeast Arkansas?

We are going to check out the zip line for sure and some fishing, probably the car museum also.
Our family is really into bacon, kids can't wait to try some of the bacon at Coursey's smoked meats in St. Joe.

Some family members have a time share condo in Cherokee Village. They will not be using it this year so asked us if we wanted it free of charge. It will be a cheap, week long get away for some R & R.

I belong to another message board and the members there gave a ton of suggestions for things to see and do,will probably need a week off when we get home to rest up

You need to go to Lambert's Cafe. There is one near Cape Girardeau, MO. My wife went to college at SEMO and we went there once or twice when we were dating. They have EXCELLENT food. Here is their website:
