It seems almost impossible to get a really good steak, comparable to usda prime certified beef at a fair price here in germany.
You are lucky guys being able to buy that prime filet for 20 bucks at the grocery.
In germany try 10 times that.
Not to even speak about the pricing on good wagyu beef.

I'm not able to buy a single 300g filet steak in comparable quality to usda prime for under 50 bucks!!!
that's just ridiculous.
And it definitely got worse in the last couple years. I almost feel like i cant get a good steak for under 100 bucks these days!

Hopefully i'm able to take a trip to the usa again anytime soon.
Guess i will eat steak on that trip everyday.

Anyway if you like good steaks without going broke better avoid germany.
And at the end of the day thats just one of many reasons. I would not recommend anyone to move here anyway.

I spent a fair amount of time in Germany, Nederlands, & Belgium. Prime beef is expensive anywhere in Europe as compared to the U.S.A., IMO; and, that includes France, Italy & Austria.

That's one reason why livestock go missing, here. However, it's mostly sheep that disappear. I guess, an entire apartment house could share a bagged cow or bull. But, I don't want to give anybody any ideas
Cats also go missing. That's probably because wet markets are illegal here. Chopping off their heads and tails, they supposedly resemble rabbits. Chopping them down to chop stick size leaves them even more unrecognizable

I have noticed that with the ones that the coyotes have munched on. Very similar in appearance once the head and tail are removed.

Well. Whatyaknow. I've always fed my coyotes rabbits only. Tomorrow, I'll take your advice and see if they like cats as much

Around here they like cats better than rabbits. Maybe it's because the cats are better fed and are fatter.

Well, it would be sort of impractical to have them flown here. Especially, raw. The only solution would be to fantasize over one

You not kidding. Beef now is crazy expensive even cheap cuts such as skirt steak (that’s the thin covering over the rib cage) is approaching $7-8 a pound at wal mart. Happen to like skirt steak can only fantasize about better cuts. Ridiculous.

Jeez...

Who goes to Iowa or Germany for that matter for steak? If you want steak you have to go to TX. Just like you have to go to KCMO if you want BBQ. These are scientifically proven facts!

I caught, cleaned, baked and ate a ground hog in 1981. Served it up at Thanksgiving. More fatty than I care for.
