I need to find a seal for the washer pump to the body. This is the large rubber seal that fits between the hole in the firewall and the washer pump. When I took the pump out it pretty much disintegrated. Fusick does not have it and i was hoping someone here knows of a company who does or something that may work.

But seriously, try steelerubber.com, enter your year and "oldsmobile" then look under the "Electrical" tab for "firewall grommets" and see if you can match it up.

This also reminds me about a joke about a penguin...think I'll go post that on the jokes thread

 

You might also be able to use a generic rubber grommet or seal that you could get at the hardware store. It is hard to envision the shape and size of this seal.

 

If all else fails, and it is not too complex, try making one.
The hardware store sold small sheets of rubber material and you just cut your own. It cost a buck a sheet, too.

I had to do this with a simple stupid washer that went on the radiator low-coolant-sensor bung plug... I could not believe that 1"OD x 3/4"ID was so "uncommon"! I had to make two more for my backyard pond filter...

I have checked out several places but not found one that is large enough diameter wise and thick enough at the same time.

 

Just looked there and they have nothing large enough.

 

Can you post a picture of the washer pump hole with the tape measure across it? I've got parts from Toro's and Delta's of the 1960's, there maybe someone else who will recognize what you need and have one stashed away in a box. John

 

Yeah I can do that and have it up soon as I can.

 

Here is the hole in the firewall I am talking about. It separates the wiper motor from the firewall.
