I figured you worked railroad too, but that is some fantastic handrail work.

However, being as I absolutely abhor having to paint something like that...

My Mama was really proud of her wrought-iron porch railings and I had to scrape and paint them every two years if they needed it or not. When I took possession of the house after she died, they were the first things I took down! Didn't even try to salvage them- took them straight to the scrap metal yard.

An aunt had some that had panels pressed into the shape of grape clusters and vines. They were a REAL PITA to paint. And what does my Mama do? Tells my Aunt Belle that I'm good at painting porch railings and volunteers me to paint hers!

Our church has brass altar and pulpit railings similar to Railguy's pic. The "Brass Brigade" meets every fourth Wednesday to polish all that brass. I stay way away from that!
