Product Review- Yamabond #4
Product Review- Yamabond #4
Good stuff
Gasket sealer sort of between Form A Gasket and Permatex 3H
Designed for gasketless joints such as motorcycle case halves.
Had occasion to do thermostat & radiator yersterday on 98 Toyota. Took apart wrong fitting looking for t'stat. Thin shim steel gasket in there. Hmmm, what to seal it with.
Got a new tube of #4 yamabond for about $10 for other projects. Let's try that. I used to use it on dirt bikes with great results. Clean the joint, apply the stuff, let it set while accessing the real t'stat housing...
Also used Y.#4 on the tstat rubber seal. Both sealed up perfectly. Not hard to get off the fingers like form a gasket.
All around a great product.
They do want you to use the entire tube within a year.
I highly recommend it. It would be good for thermostat housings. Differentil cover. Trans pan. Valve covers. Oil Pan... &c.
