James - Major bummer. You might consider counting the total # of dimples on each of several ProV1 golf ***** while you consider what to do next. Anything <388 demand a refund.
Norm [ Like most players] I don't have the swing speed to play Titelist Pro V l I'm a Callaway chrome kinda guy
It’s not a bad subject whatsoever. Dryer remains ~90% taken apart - I just need to remove the drum. I “think” there may have been the off chance a thermal sensor located at the bottom of the dryer in front (below the drum) could be the suspected culprit - don’t know, yet. I haven’t tested continuity of that sensor or the one next to it, yet. They were both covered with most likely 30+ years of lent. Not sure if that sensor can invoke a no start condition, even if it test good on continuity.
At this stage of the game, I’m seriously leaning on just replacing the electric motor and belt since I have the entire dryer broken down/taken apart. There really isn’t much to this thing, everything else appears just fine. Basically a MAW at this point.
I believe there may exist a method to reduce my handicap. Watching Jason Day, Rory & Tiger (YouTube) pitching/chipping they spoke about how often they replace their wedges - every 4 or 5 rounds. Seriously. I know they play tons more golf than me, maybe I need new wedges with nice sharp grooves. Hmmm…need to think about this one.
What they failed to mention is they replace their wedges for free
You could also let it rust and have a "trusty rusty" that would give you more spin
Norm, You're too smart a guy to try to buy a game. I vote ya watch fewer videos and spend that time practicing. 'Practice doesn't make perfect, it makes permanent "
James - I agree w/ you 100%. I used to spend more time on the range than I have this year. "The Wall" seriously took some time away from my range time. I looked into one of those iron groove sharpener tools several years ago. I'm not sure I want to spend the time on sharpening grooves just as I won't spend the time sharpening the chain on chain saws. My left shoulder is seriously messed up at the moment - I suspect it's from the arduous wall activity. It doesn't appear to have much of any effect on my ability to swing a club, but it certainly hurts much more the following day. I believe it's a case of overuse. It "appears" to be gradually getting better. But, then comes the weed whacking, edging, blah, blah, blah - seems it never ends. I'm too stupid to stop all activities and simply "rest".
Yeah, I know. (1) I don't own the sharpening tool; (2) It would take me forever (I'd never finish since I'm so damn tightly wound figuring I could be doing it better); and, (3) New chains aren't very expensive, IMO - worth the price I pay to save me a headache.
1] The sharpening tool is a round file that fits in the teeth [any hardware store has them [by the box]
2] If you put on your specks and look closely at a tooth, it will have a line like this / showing you the exact angle to run the file through the tooth [teeth]
3] All ya have ta do it run it through ever other teeth going one way then run it through the teeth facing the opposite way
It take about 1/3 of a mega second to dull a chain saw when you hit dirt
Hmmmm. OK. That sounds simple enough. I'll give it a go next time I think it's getting dull. Believe me, I am meticulous about not having that chain hit the dirt.
Went in early this morning, and had planned on running a few errands this afternoon. And then that fat clown comes to me and says, do you want to work in inspection just for the day? It's my week but [the lead] isn't going to be here and he wants me to run things. I said I could help out for a day. I chose the front machine because that way I didn't have to sign anything off, and the other guy was signing for the first time and he needed to figure it out. He is slow anyway, and things were slower yet with his learning curve. And then my machine decides to go tango uniform for about two hours. We still ended up leaving a few minutes before the rest of the crew. But I was beat. All big wheels today. I came home and had a nap. I'm gonna hit the sack here in a minute.
I use a Dremel rotary file to sharpen my chain saw. The chain doesn't last too long like that but boy is it sharp when I'm done. Norm you're right, chains are not expensive but why not get your money's worth.
Don't know what the weather was like all day, but it just started raining when I walked out of work. Stopped about half way home and it hadn't rained at all at the house. A little while after I got home we got a downpour, but now the sun is out. Weird.
Okay that's it for me. Thank you George! Hope everyone has a good evening, onward Hump Day! Good night everybody!
Good evening guys,
Still didn't get up as early as I would have liked, at 0700 this morning, but I refuse to set an alarm unless I'm getting up for something I really want, or need, to get to. Got out and detailed the the hood and trunk areas of the 4-4-2, then decided to save the sides for tomorrow since it was warming up quickly. Pretty out today, but it got up to 90. The next 3-days the high is only supposed to be 80, with morning lows in the high 50's. That will be really nice.
Got a call from the Doc's office today letting me know all my lab work-up came back normal. Whew, that's always a good feeling! I always have them send me a hardcopy so I can review the actual values for myself and compare them to the previous couple of years.
Gonna enter the 4-4-2 in a Lions Club car show this Sunday in House Springs where my youngest daughter lives. It was a nice show last year.
Had some take-out St. Louis style thin crust pizza and toasted ravioli from a local chain called Imo's for dinner. Imo's is an iconic St. Louis brand. Besides the thin crust, their pizza is unique in only using provel cheese, and no mozzarella. It's good pizza!
Hope everyone had a great day and has a relaxing evening!
Interesting. I have a fair background in various cheeses & that's the first time I've ever heard of a Provel dairy cheese. I just read its small history. I learned a new cheese today - banner day.

You can also find a smoked Provel which is very good, especially on sandwiches.

After getting bitched out by my boss who is starting to feel his oats because he didn't like my (legitimate) complaints, I collected 7 Highlander seats and jammed them in a Sienna minivan that he and I and another guy are taking to Memphis tomorrow. I really should pack heat, but I think there is a rule on that in a company vehicle. Memphis is a hole.
It really is an artificial situation when you have more experience than your boss does. This is why the military has the up or out policy. Hell of a recursive loop though: I don't give a crap because they treat me like crap because I don't give a crap because they treat me like crap....ad nauseam. Then they tell me to "take the first step" in fixing it, and they really hate it that I bring a list to the meetings of all the first steps I've taken over the years with no gain. 9 years...ten months...3 days....and counting.
I received a very disturbing email yesterday from a friend and former colleague at the Intel Agency where I worked for +35-years. This friend was letting me know that one of my former bosses who had promoted me into senior management to be his deputy Division Chief, had just passed away. He was the same age as me, only 61, and had a distinguished career in the USAF retiring as a Colonel, before coming to our Agency as a civilian. The person who passed on the info of his passing didn't know how he died, and his obituary did not mention a cause of death. I did some more digging and through another mutual friend found out he had died of COV - 19. This gentleman was a great boss and a good friend, I feel so bad for his wife and family, he has 6 children. What a shame, 61 is way too young! I guess I will be going to the visitation on Friday, not really the way I wanted to see several of my old colleagues.
When I was around 7 I used to ride what we called an aqua plane. [basically a wooden gate with rope handles and a rope attached to the boat]
Times have changed. I saw this thingy on line and got it to teach Donny's grand children and mine to water ski. IMHO every kid needs to learn to water ski
The SS ii to the left is a chewed up extra I'm gonna give to Donnt to make a hose reel

James - That board is a great idea, much easier for a young-un to get up out of the water on that, and also keeps them from getting their ski's crossed. My parents had a small Starcraft 16-ft runabout that we skied behind when I was growing up. I loved water sking, but haven't done it in years.
Had our Subaru to the dealer today for trouble shooting computer , engine light on
It showed that the whole "secondary air pump" system needs to be replaced, both
valves and airpump . We had replaced one valve in 2018 but it showed that it needed
to be replaced again at a very high cost. The airpump have new bearings.
Even the dealer recommended us to try other companies to erase this function in the
computer because of expensive cost to repair.
The dealer often use aftermarket parts when avalible when they repair Subarus because
of the high pricing on Subaru original parts and customers complaint.
Must say that this Subaru is the worst low quality s+it car we ever had and we have had a
lot of different cars thru the years.
Now something more fun had a very nice trip in our 98 earlier today with the top down , maybe
one of the last times with such good temp here.

Glen - Sorry to hear about your Subaru. I owned an AWD Subaru Loyale 4-door sedan about 20-years ago. It was a good car and incredible in the snow until I let my teenage daughter drive it. While she was driving, the nut that held the electric fan blade on came loose and the fan quit turning, and of course it started to overheat and the check engine light came on, but she just kept driving it until the motor got so hot it seized up. It was basically worth scrap at that point because it already had about 200K-miles on it when she destroyed it. I'm guessing 20-years ago Subaru was probably making them better than they are now.
Glad you were able to get out for a nice cruise in the 98 while the weather is still nice!
Chris - Bummer about your buddy passing @ 61 from SARS-CoV-2 - a shame.
James - I don't recall if I used one of those boards - I might have. I learned to water ski at a very early age. That wheel also makes a nice boat anchor.
Glenn - Subaru. You barely get the opportunity to close your wallet and it's time to open it up again.
James - Pitiful. 39/42 If nothing else I am certainly consistent. I think I'll play in the 9-hole shootout @ 5PM today.
I stopped by CVS Pharmacy & received my geezer pleaser Influenza vaccine. I believe I've earned a chocolate malted milkshake.
Chris, sorry for your loss. You're right, too young. Well, I took a day off to pull the fridge out, and clean behind it as I plan on getting a new one, that was short lived as a package came (wedding gift) via UPS, that had a couple of tears in the box. I thought that I'd open it to see if there was any damage to the gift (there wasn't) but, in the process of lifting the item out of the box, my lower back gave me a jolt as something popped. *&%#! Heating pad and Aspercreme for me. My wokplace, sent a text announcing that all remaining employees that are laid off, will be called back, and that they will be hiring soon. That's good and bad, as every Thrusday we run out of work due to shipments of our stock never arriving until Saturday, which means at the end of the week, the boss is trying to figure what to do with everybody. Not sure who does the scheduling, but they might want to get their head out of their behind.

Dan - Thanks for the kind thought! Sorry about your back, I can definitely empathize, I don't even have to be lifting anything for mine to give me "the jolt". Hope it feels better soon! Now as Paul Harvey would say, on to the rest of the story, a "Wedding Gift", are congratulations in order, or soon to be in order? If so, a great big congratulations to you!
Good evening guys,
Really nice day here, sunny and a high of 83, with a nice cooling breeze blowing. Got up at 0600 and soon afterwards went out and finished detailing my car. She's all spiffed up and ready for this coming weekend's events.
Came in and did some bills so I could get them in today's mail. Then I helped my wife trim the dogs' nails. Maggie takes in in stride, but with Monty it's a battle. My wife does the trimming, I'm just the straight jacket!
Going across the river tomorrow to Illinois to visit with a buddy that lives near the little town of Waterloo. We've been good friends for +30-years, and he was a groomsman in our wedding. It's supposed to be really nice again so I'm thinking I may ride my motorcycle over there. It's about an hour drive, but if I could jump the Mississippi, as the crow flies, it'd only be about 10-minutes.
Hope everyone had a great day! Thanks again to everyone who offered their condolences about my friend. I am still in shock and I don't think it's really even sunk it yet.
Shot one over (37) in the nine-hole shootout; but didn't stick around. We may have come in second. There were some "words" being exchanged among some of the members regarding some other member's bogus handicap who was tied for first. This sort of thing happens and it is very irritating; but, I'm not going to embrace the F-tards so I just leave. If I win some $$ it will get credited to my account. I played my round, hast luego.
Yabba-Dabba-Do, fall (most likely false fall) weather the next ten days.

Nice shooting Norm! Weather forecast looks very similar to what we've been experiencing lately, but our temps are headed back up Saturday.
Chris that's too bad about your friend. If you had a Harley you could get across the river Evel Knievel style.
So Dan, you must already be married since you don't get the gifts until -after- the wedding. You're a good secret keeper. She's the one driving the new fridge, right?
Jamesbo is this your pickup that needs the window? That pea gravel must have been moving. The hose won't stay on that wheel very well with the tire on it.
It's beautiful out. Just getting dark. Wasn't too long ago we'd still have an hour of daylight left. Ah, there's always next year.
Okay gonna hit the sack. Another early day tomorrow. I took next week off so I can go to my Mom's, go to my friends' in Alabama, and then have a few days to get serious about moving. Hope everyone has a good evening.
