Well, dammit, the a/c is on the fritz. Had it set to 70°, got home and it's at 77°. turned it down to 66° and it is starting to drop. Sent an email to the A/C guy, I wasn't going cal his emergency 24hr phone at this time of night, I can wait. I will call in the morning, and hope for a response before I go to work. Warm and humid for the weekend, and I don't want to pay for his holiday pay.

Norm,

Aside from the tremendous waste from burying [forever wasting] tons of material, Steel, concrete, formaldehyde based embalming fluid, The stupidest thing about traditional cemetery is buying a warranty on a vault

think about that for a second.

A/C fixed, got lucky, they had time to squeeze it in Friday afternoon. Fan seized up for some reason, they got it going, and will replace it next week. Only two years old, hope that there is some kind of warranty. I better look for the paperwork on it. 65° when I got home, I turned the a/c off, and the heat on.

Dan - I had to replace the fan on my combined AC/Heat pump system (Trane) last year. Glad you got it fixed before the weekend. Today is the first day I've turned on the AC it's been crazy humid - today reached 100% humidity (75°F). I will say my unit sucks the water out of the interior exceptionally well. I set the thermostat @ 77°F during the summer months which renders a relative humidity of between 50% - 55% - very comfortable. If I set it to 70°F it would be freezing in here.

Hi everyone.

Been nice being at Mom's. I haven't been here since the beginning of March. Had a long to-do list. My sister and I went to get a screen door to install and this afternoon I've been putting together the base to a shed I've been going to put up for quite awhile. It's sunny and hot here.

Once upon a time I had a rental house. This awful woman lived there that had a bunch of kids, all who had different dads. Her parents lived in the neighborhood and I rented to her as a favor to her dad. Well right about the 6 month mark I happened to be talking to her and she said they'd all been sleeping at her parents' house for the last couple weeks. I thought it was odd but didn't say anything. Later she tells me the AC stopped working but I didn't have to have it fixed for them because they were moving. It was a heat pump. Turns out the system had a leak in it and she kept running it until the compressor seized. That deal cost me 2500 bucks but I got it off my taxes.

What is a kurkri?

Well I'm beat. I'm no professional builder so I work twice as hard for half the results. The to-do list was a breeze, but working in the back yard is tough, carrying the lumber from the front to the back because there isn't enough room between the houses to get a truck in. That's okay, I'll sleep good.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I've grown weary of the caustic P.M. from some of our "Omniscient " posters
Ban them. Pleasant day, warm and 72°. Went and seen one of my best friends, who had his gall bladder removed three weeks ago, only to find out it was cancerous. So, they took 5% of his liver out two weeks ago, and he is mending with support from his wife and family. he is waiting on the labs to find out if he has any more cancer in his system. I hope that he will be fine. Grilled a rib eye for dinner, washed it down with a cold one. Been watching Yellowstone on the Peacock streaming service. It's been pretty good so far. I'll watch another episode tonight, continuing my effort to get caught up on it.

Hi guys, well I enjoy the thread though I only take what I want from it and basically ignore the rest. About the same as I use the whole CO site, actually the way I use the whole interweb, I guess...."buffet method"...
--Yeah, Dan it's been beautiful the last couple days- though we deserve it after that cold spring. Yesterday I got fried sitting on the lake about 3 hours. I always tan up easy but yesterday I got burnt. Not complaining though.
--Took 1st drive in old truck couple days ago. So nice and quiet with new windows, channels, door seals etc. You don't expect a old beater that looks like that to be quiet. See yas!!

Hi everyone.

Ah, home sweet home. It was a long weekend but we had a nice visit. Got quite a bit done around the house. Tiger played in a big pile of leaves and got those fat grey ticks all over him.

Long ride home today. Sat in an hour plus worth of traffic somewhere in the middle of nowhere Alabama. Turns out it was a car fire. Saw the car on the flatbed, I have to say it, the car was toast. Really. Burnt to a crisp. Hope everyone was okay. Got home in time for it to start raining. Won't be too long before we're in bed. Work tomorrow.

Greg that's great you got the truck out for a ride. Pictures or it didn't happen! I know on the rare occasion I fix up one of my old wrecks it really feels good to get it out.

Okay! I've had it. Hope everyone had a good weekend and remembered our fallen. Have a good night everyone.

I cleaned the garage this week. I feel like thats a big accomplishment by itself.

Looking forward to some car shows or just some cruise nights if things relax a little bit, which it seems like they are.

Have a great day, guys.

Hi everyone.

I tell you what, A guy gets used to working two hours only and then when it gets bumped up to 5 hours it really seems like a chore. Eh, more wheels means business is picking up and that helps us all out.

Rain. Supposed to rain the rest of the week. I might have mentioned this before, I like it better when it doesn't rain.

Jamesbo is the lake down again? If you want some help I'll come up.

CW I can't imagine what an accomplishment it would be if I cleaned my garage.

So I've made the (probably poor) decision to buy a car in Connecticut. Now I have to decide how to get it home. Anyone know what the latest is in transporting cars?

Okay a couple of errands after lunch and that will be it. Last day of the week for me tomorrow. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Hi everyone.

Ah, work is done for the week. The guys that had been sent to the special projects are back. Still got out around 11.

The object of my affections is a 62 Imperial. Used to be one would pop up here and there, but I haven't seen one for sale for a long time. Being a northeast car its whole life means it has rust, but ya pays your money ya takes your chances. Actually it doesn't look too bad, and in a weekend it should run. Looks like I'll be driving up to retrieve it. Not looking forward to that.

Rain all morning, and a downpour when I got home, but now the sun is out. Go figure that.

Okay see ya's all later. Gotta do some running around.

Hi everyone.

Beautiful out, a little humid. Haven't done squat. Got up and lollygagged around this morning, took Tiger to the vet and they said it would be almost a 2 hour wait. So we went to Awful house instead. Had to call my insurance company, then called my Mom, now I'm going over to the shop to mess around for a little while.

And that's all I got. I need to get better at doing stuff on a Friday. My four day week is going through at least September. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Interesting night in Downtown Atlanta and Buckhead

People decided to follow Minnesota's lead and get their Christmas shopping done early

Why they didn't close down Marta [rapid transit] and stop the spread of these thugs is beyond me. If you can close down air travel on 9/11 ya can **** down a few trains and buses

The governor called out the national gurd

Problem is these young thugs don't remember Kent state

--Well weather forecast said no rain in area yesterday after the clouds went thru in the morning, so wife and I decided to go to Mt Pleasant to look at lawn furniture at Home Depot and Menards with the 'vert. Perfect weather but left top up not super warm. Didn't see what we liked in MP so decided to go to Midland to Lowes. Midland was flooded when the Edenville dam broke. Saw bunch of piles of flooded mattresses, couches, drywall etc. Sad... Left Lowes and decided to go up towards Edenville to see if we could see broken dam, etc. On way the sky got really dark and here it came! A deluge!! I swear the only time I am out in a torrential rainstorm is in my almost 50 yr old convertible! We pulled over and tried to wait out the storm. We couldn't get close to the Dam and had to take a very long detour to get home from there. And apparently we stayed in the west moving storm most the way. Yep carpet is all wet AGAIN! Today I will have to take up carpet and dry out floor with fans. Last time this happened was in Gettysburg at the Olds Nats a few years ago. When a lot of water goes down thru the left fender/cowl in front of drivers door, it can't drain out fast enough and overflows under the kick panel and comes in the drivers floor. I had it all apart after the Gettysburg flooding and found nothing clogged with debris/etc. It's not leaking from top, If is was a hardtop it would flood the floor also. Very frustrating!!
-- Ok, well have a good one guys!!

Hi everyone.

Sunny out and promises of sun all weekend. Hope so. I already got my bed frame out and the first coat of poly on. I may not do the second coat, we'll see how it looks when it's dry.

Jamesbo that's about a pitiful thug. Rape and pillage and then go wait at the bus stop.

Greg years ago I had a convertible that did the same thing. Drive in the rain and the water came in from under the dash somewhere right onto my feet. But the car sat outside all the time and if it rained but it was sitting, no water inside. Odd.

It seems to me in the 60s it was the Democratic National Convention that was to be held in Chicago. The mayor, the original Richard Daley, got word that there was going to be trouble. He had the police and the SWAT teams decked out in full riot gear and gave orders to shoot to kill. Miraculously, there was no violence at all during the convention.

You may remember the engine in the blue convertible was stuck. Last week I took the 5 easiest spark plugs out and sprayed lube in the cylinders. Today I chained it to the pickup and pulled it up the driveway a few feet, then let it coast down and let the clutch out. The engine turned with the transmission just fine. Got the battery charger hooked up now, and I'm hoping that little trick will be a success and I can get the engine to start today. It's a 350, best I can tell it's out of a big car with an automatic. The vacuum tree is plugged on the intake manifold. I'm guessing at the big car part, but I'd say those engines are easier to get ahold of than an A Body engine. Eh who knows.

Okay after lunch it will be work on the convertible. Hope everyone has a good Saturday. And if anyone happens to be knocking over a Target today, my shirt size is 2X.

I've got an extra 350 if ya need it. I was gonna swap out the 455 in the Vista so "The Super Mode"l would get better gas mileage [when I wanted it to be her DD] but she wanted a (^%&^)(*&_) Jag

Thanks Jamesbo I might take you up on that. I couldn't tell what that car was with the door open. Hope she enjoys it.

The charger has been on the convertible for about three hours. As soon as I take it off everything goes dead. I mean instantly. I'm wondering if a bad battery would not give the starter enough juice to turn the engine. How smart am I to have left this car sitting for years.

In the meantime, I put that coat of poly on the bed frame. It was out in the hot sun and baked to a candy coating in short order. I'm not going to sand, and I'm not going to do a second coat. It looks perfect. I moved those pieces into the bedroom. Now the other two pieces are out and I put the first coat of stain on them. It dried almost instantly. I'll wait a little while and sand and put on a second coat.

But now it's breaktime. Tiger really needs a treat.

Mike, since we're from different parts of this Orb Whatcha thing?

BTW, I call my brother in law a thug and he's white Anglo Saxon catholic

Good morning everyone.

Beautiful out. More bed frame staining today.

Jamesbo I wouldn't consider that a racial comment at all. A thug to me is -anyone- who is acting, like a thug. I think the facebook lady wants to create(or perpetuate) drama.

Might do some mowing today, might even wash something after 4 this afternoon. Work tomorrow so I have to end early. I think I could have a 6 day weekend and it would still go by too fast.

Have a good day everyone.

Thug is used to describe anyone of nefarious behavior, like "Two thugs robbed the liquor store and beat the owner". Skin color has nothing to do with it.

Hi everyone.

Almost 1130 when we got out. That's the latest yet. The guy in charge is not a go home early guy, and even though the foreman said we leave when we're done, he's been gone so I'm thinking this is the one guy's way of furthering his ways.

Was nice out when I got home, now it's nice out and hot. Man it really heated up in a short amount of time. Gonna do some mowing this afternoon.

Good luck to the Super Model. Good thing she has that fancy car to keep her safe.

Okay off I go. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Hi everyone. Who only seems to be Jamesbo and now he's gone. Hi Mike.

Got out a little before 11 today. Out of the 40 wheels I signed 30 of them. Not to toot my own horn, the fat moron hasn't been there the last two days, and the other guy stands around and does nothing until the very end, then signs a few wheels and thinks he's saved the day. I don't care. I'd rather sign everything if it meant the fat moron stays away.

Went to the DMV to get my trailer registered. Was met at the door by some woman who said I needed a mask. I said I didn't have one, she said I couldn't come in. I said thanks for wasting my time, Guess I won't get my trailer registered any time soon. I thought the rioting superseded the virus and we were done with that.

Mowed a little this afternoon. Ran up under a bush and the oil cap came off and splashed oil all over the mower before I noticed. That will be fun to clean up, but it will have to wait till tomorrow. I decided to come in and finish up at a later date. Heck, I'm already ready for bed.

Time for an early dinner then relax a little(which means look at cars on the internet) and then hit the sack. Have a good evening Mike. Thanks, I think I will.

I'm still here!

Got the new wheel cylinder on my Toronado. The car's brakes are not exactly awesome to start with. so i try to keep up on anything brake related.

I have been BUSY this week, and am glad to be working. Things here in the Chippewa Valley have been peaceful, but today was HOT!.

Have a great day guys.

I saw Mike having a discussion w/ himself
Hi Mike.
Have a good evening Mike.
Thanks, I think I will.
I thought I'd create an Alter Ego so I'd have someone to talk to. I've tried talking to myself before - I never know who's going to respond.
I hope Mike isn't having a meltdown - "Don't Be A Freeway Creep" has left the building. This shouldn't happen to anyone. Act now before it happens to you.

I may become Roger Gregory. Lord knows I've been called that before many times. With my name I get called "Roger"or "Craig" almost as many times as Greg.
-- Been having some nice weather. Got Cutlass all dried out. The welded in nuts or whatever they call 'em on the floor board are getting stripped out. I have to put another nut on the bottom of 2 of them. I don't think Olds ever thought the seat would come in and out as many times as I've had to...
--Secretary of State (DMV) is finally back open for appointments. Got one today and finally going to transfer plate on to the plow truck I bought in March. Want to sell the King Ranch. I guess I will put a ad on Craigs list for it. The King ranch is a fancy Club cab with a a topper and the plowtruck is a stripped regular cab F250. Quite a difference but I think the only 2 things I will miss are the room to take other people and the excellent stereo. And of course the KR drives like a raised up Cadillac and the F250 rides like a lumber wagon, but it's good enough for me. Wife hates it though and can hardly get up in it. Seeyas!!
