Well, The new 4 horse fence project has come to a halt. There's not a 5/4 board to be found anywhere. I usually buy 16' boards and stagger them on 8' centered post but not a 16' anywhere. I've heard it sum kind of strike but really don't know. I finally found a few 8's about and hour away, and am thinking about running up [to the same place in the mountains I got my dock boards from] Decisions, decisions

Wow that's a bummer, Johnny. I looked at your post yesterday and later when I took my F100 for a drive at 55 mph I was worried about the tires on that. Good thing your tires didn't fail at 55 MPH!! I put 15" Super Stock wheels from a 76-77 Cutlass on my 71 Cutlass years ago so now I can use 15" tires which are easier to get. (But now they are also dinosaurs- most everything now uses at least 16") Anyway as Mike said the BFG's are overpriced but have the only "Retro" type raised white letters I know of, Coopers are probably good but I like the old style of RWL I would like the Goodyear or Firestone type best which are now available but are super pricey!!. One thing you may want to be sure is when you buy new tires, make sure they are new. Many of these tires sit in a warehouse for years and when you buy them they may be 4 yrs old already. And with today's tire compounds the tire may be only warranted for 7 yrs. This is not a problem on tires that get sold quickly and go on a 30,000 mile a year commuter car, but sure can be on a collector car. Mike also knows about that. Have a good one all!!

Hi everyone.

We finished up before 10 and I said, I sure hope we don't have to stay to 11. Well guess what. Well, I got a nice nap in.

Johnny before you order your BFGs, do some research to see if they've fixed the problem of the white letters turning brown. That was a big problem for years I don't know if they got it figured out.

Greg I forgot all about that. That problem is biggest with tires that have been discontinued. They just hope the purchaser doesn't notice things like date codes, and most don't.

Jamesbo why do you think all the boards are sold out?

Took the car to get its emission test done. I should be able to deduct that from my taxes. The government requires it and the money goes to the government. It's all a big scam.

Okay gonna start the winding down process. Tomorrow is the last day of my work week. Hope everyone is doing well.

haven’t heard about the letters turning brown.

There has been talk on the Olds FB forums about T/A's turning brown, and the guys are using every cleaner out there to whiten them back up, but to no avail. It doesn't happen to everyone, but seems to be quite common.

Well I was about to order my tires last night on eBay and then I realize that eBay is charging tax now for everything so that’s another $43 on top of the price I might as well just buy them locally. At least I don’t have to worry about them getting banged around on the UPS truck harder to return when they come by UPS.

Going to be another warm one, but I think it will be a great day.

My new temp sending unit for the Toronado is here. I'm going to replace it and inspect the wiring this weekend. The temp gauge fluttering drives me crazy.

Have a great day guys.

Hi everyone.

Good day at work. Another guy came to sign off wheels, so we'd get out faster. When we finished, before 10, we told the lead. He said okay and walked away. The brake side lead came over and said, my guys left what are you doing here. We said, waiting on Andrew. He said, go ahead and get out of here. So we did. I'm sure Andrew will have heartburn over it but hey, someone has to be the company man.

Beautiful day out, and a perfect temperature. Tiger and I are going to mow this afternoon then I might go tinker on the new car. I've been sleeping good the last few nights but then still am beat and gone to bed at 7pm. I'll try to reverse that this evening. I get to sleep in tomorrow so why not stay up and boogie! Hm. I'd have to find a disco for that and I bet they're all closed.

Went to get all my license plate stickers this afternoon. I needed 7 of them and it still only cost me 138 bucks. This weekend I'll put them all on. It's an involved process for me.

Johnny the cleaner was reacting with the rubber compound and turning the letters brown. So, the more cleaner you used, the less it would clean. It would probably be okay if you had a brown car.

Good luck with the temp sender CW. If that sort of thing bugs you, don't drive a 90s Chevy truck. The electrically driven gauges twitch constantly, like they are getting little voltage spikes. On my 92 Silverado every time I'd put on the left turn signal the speedometer needle would peg to the high side and then return. Odd.

Okay! Let the good times roll. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Hi everyone.

Almost revolted at the Awful house this morning. Told the server I wanted a two egg breakfast. Do you want bacon? No. It comes with it. Okay give me the bacon. I was expecting the usual price of 3.80 . Nope, it was 6.90. So with a Coke and a dogburger it was almost 11 bucks. I asked one of the other servers if that was correct. Yup, the bacon is extra. Ah, so she lied to me. She's new I'll fix it. I said don't fix it, if that's what I asked for that's what I'll pay for but I don't appreciate her lying to me. Sheesh.

Johnny that car keeps looking better and better. I never understood how the tire place can refuse to work on a tire that is of such an age or worn, yet that same tire when you replace it, they'll sell to someone else. Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Got a few repairs to attend to in the house today. Beautiful out I should go out and mow later. Have a good afternoon everyone.

I have this hanging in my Garage. I just noticed the emblem is crooked. One more thing to fix! I used LEDs to light this up and run a 12v power source in my garage.

Hi everyone.

Took the big truck up to Athens to have some work done to it. I don't know if this guy laughs at me or can't wait to see me. Every year I take it up there and have a bunch of work done to it, and then I get it home and it sits. Then the next year same thing. There can't be much more that it needs. Eh, it's only money.

Jamesbo sometimes I get caught off guard and this time the chick pulled a fast one. That's okay, I left her a $hitty tip. Besides she won't be there long.

CW if I had a mancave place I'd have stuff like that everywhere. Not quite the same when it's your whole home, though. Although that wouldn't stop me.

Hot out and sunny. I've got more work inside to do then I might mow this evening. Tiger didn't get to go to the Awful house this morning so I told him we'd go this evening. The chef gives him bacon once in a while, he seems to enjoy it.

Okay have a good evening everyone.

Maybe I'll nail up my quota today

Have a great day Olds friends

Good morning everyone.

Happy Father's Day. It's a rarity that it's this late. Isn't it usually around the 18th? Nice day here for festivities. The Awful house was packed.

Jamesbo it's a good thing you aren't building a house. Twenty boards a day? It must be Say Stupid Things At The Hardware Store week. Yesterday I was at Lowe's and they had a sign saying the US is in a coin shortage, and to use exact change or a credit card. I said, I've never heard anything so absurd. The cashier said, I have plenty of coins.

Got all my new stickers for the license plates so I'm gonna run around and put those on, then I think I'll work on some baseboard for the bedroom. That should be fun. Work tomorrow so I can't go too crazy.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Edit,
I forgot about father's day [cause I only have yard children]

The cemetery is full of visitors so I better not be nailing boards

I dropped a used 403 into my 77 Impala last night. Today I get to hook everything up.

Happy Fathers day to everyone. I got a new holster and some waffles that must have been made by Lisa Douglas from Green Acres! I could make head gaskets out of them waffles!

Well, starting tomorrow, they are going to check our temperature and ask a couple of questions at the main plant entrance when we come into work. Why they waited 3 1/2 months to do this is beyond me. If we have a fever of any kind, or don't give the right answer for a couple of questions, we get directed out a nearby door, and have to contact our medical provider for testing.

Jamesbo that doesn't even make any sense. Whose yard are they in?

If you can't do your 20 boards today, you can do 40 boards tomorrow. That will show the board counters who's who.

It's not supposed to. I don't invent these expressions, I just use them Like "1/2 wife" I'm not going to marry her but I'm not going to let anyone else marry her

Hi everyone.

Fair enough Jamesbo, I use a few sayings I don't know where they're from as well. Everything is arbitrary.

Beautiful here. Rain this afternoon. I got a couple errands to run then I'll putter around at the shop until the rain comes.

The extra five wheels were negligible today. Although, the fat moron was there and we got out later than when I was there by myself. And I suspect the extra five wheels wouldn't have made any difference if I were there by myself.

I'm having a tough time finding a convertible. My friend wants me to buy a Corvette, but I don't want to spend that much money. But I can't find anything else that I like. I'm afraid I'll get the Corvette and not like it because it's too hard to get into and out of. I suppose if the seller has to help me out after a test drive that would be a pretty good indication. I've got a pretty narrow list of criteria, and that doesn't help.

Off I go. The pressure is off, Monday is done. Like I have a lot of pressure at work these days. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Order my pressure treated studs and plates for the boat house today

I'll get it up in a few weeks. Funny no shortage on anything but 5/4 boards. I'm trying to figure out if I need to bring the barge back to set the roof trusses. It should would be easy for him to deliver, and install. I'll try and get a price from him

I'm too old to be setting roof trusses

We've been doing that for 3 months now. Get handed a mask after passing the entrance exam, then have to wash hands immediately after entering the building. At least we have been able to continue working through all this as we are an essential business.

No masks required, but everybody has a stash of hand sanitizer, Plus they have W.H.O. approved spray bottles of disinfectant in the lunchrooms, and in the plant to use as we need. I use it to disinfect my work area before starting my job.

Looks like it's fix'in to come up a cloud

Mike, That's southern for it looks like its gonna rain

A few years ago I sold sum property to Publix. The neighborhood ***** fought a regular size store so they built a much smaller one. Locally it's know as "Baby Publix" There's NO WAY to social distance in the place

It's right down the street so I used to go on a fairly regular basis. But because of the virus, I've been traveling a little to go to a bigger store.

Have a great day Olds friends

Morning all yesterday was pretty productive. I decided to see why the heater was getting hot but not working .
Took the wheel well out for easy access only to find out it works fine. cleaned out all the crap by the lower fender.
straightened a little dent at the bottom of the fender and then i decided to hook up the heater core that you guess it started leaking immediately.
Dropped the box ,bought a new core installed it after cleaning the entire heater box works great!
running out of obvious things to do gotta order some seat covers. Gonna get Pui's from caprones on feebay maybe $600 front & rears in pearl.
Happy Monday i'm tired it was 104 yesterday imagine doing a heater core in that!
jamsbro i wish it would rain here.

Hi everyone.

It rains, it's sunny, it rains, it's sunny. Jamesbo your cloud comes up and then leaves.

Finished around 1030 this morning and then sat. I'm getting tired of this lead. He is not a people person, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have to help us when we need it. The regular lead should be back in a couple weeks.

Johnny when do your tires come in? You're really going to town with that car.

Wanted to do a couple more things at the shop this afternoon but don't know if I will. I don't want to get things taken out and then it start raining. Eh we'll see.

Okay have a good afternoon everyone.
