Hi everyone.

Nice and hot. I thought it would be 90, but alas it's only 88. No rain until Monday.

London have pity on the old soul. At least it's organic. It's easier to clean up a mess now and then than to scold a guy who probably wouldn't know why he was getting scolded. Easy for me to say, I'm way over here. But I can tell you I've had my share of old dogs and I wouldn't have changed anything about them.

John big surprise. You beat me to the wall finish line, maybe I'll get a car project done before you this time. How's BH?

Time to get ready for work. Night 2. Hope everyone enjoyed their Hump Day.

Good day.

Yesterday was f*****g horrible s**t. Lets start By the fact that if everything would have gone smooth, i would have been at bed somewhere 0130am. Now i was at bed at 0700am. And were getting to each others nerves with my supervisor. The problem there is he tries to verbally drive it when standing next to it, yelling all the time what to do.
The problem is, i could do those things alone aswell, maybe just not as fast yet, but still get them done. Hard to explain at foreign language. But im really pissed to go for another night with him.................

CQR - Okay And yes, im pretty positive its head gasket or head. When running, the coolant just started to boil out of reservoir cap with pressure and was hot as hell.

Okay, have a good day everyone. Soon back to work.

Hi everyone.

Hot today, I heard there was supposed to be rain this afternoon but none around here. Was gonna cut some grass but talked on the phone instead.

Clint the latest I remember snow when I lived up home was in April. Last half of May is really pushing it.

Night 3. Doing okay so far, not getting out early at all but the work is good and things are relatively stress free. That right there is worth the price of admission.

Jamesbo maybe if you beat the jiga bushes your post will fall out. Why does the site sometimes eat posts when they're posted just like all the other umpteen thousand posts?

Time to hit it. Hm it's clouding up a little, maybe the rain will come after all. Hope not. Have a good evening everyone.

Morning all, I'm not ready for this heat. Set a record the other day, 94 and it's only May. Not looking forward to it!

CQR, growing up in Michigan I can remember piles of snow in the High School parking lot days before letting out for summer break.

Jamesbo, epic posts are like the fish that got away! =D

Hope everyone has a great Friday. Get some garage time and save your sanity!!!

The way you cant do it

For today, example:

Just bought an looooong sauced pork rib. Im gonna cover it to aluminium folio, and put it to sauna-stove for 2...3 hours, what it takes from starting to heat it until im done.
At this point meats really soft and moist due to high humidity at sauna.
Then i light either campfire or coal-grill and just burn an crispy skin to it...
Serve with cold beer and side dish of your choice

Mornin.

Jamesbo, yes. It's still there. He hasn't made the short list of Employee of the year yet, but so far so good.

We probably only have 4-5" of snow here at the house, but I would bet it would equal about 2" of rain.

Have a day all.

Why does that not surprise me

So the question that now comes up. Don't you and your girlfriend smell like BBQ poke when ya get out of the sauna OR is that some kind of kinky foreplay

Not that it wouldn't work for me.

Fiancees qt her best when she smell pork
In reality- it dont smell at sauna. Maybe a bit but air changes so much at sauna when stove continuously uses it for fire and pulls fresh air directly from outside, that its pretty much non-excistant. Tyo, once i spared on folio, and it burn through... Smelled pork for few next saunas..

Well, im even currently drinking cold beer, but i dont drink it to get drunk, approx an can per hour. Just cause i like the taste.

CQR - Good to hear he wants to learn. Willing to learn and be proud of your work overcomes the lack of basic starting skills. Speaking from experience. Some day he will pay off all the grief. But qt that point you just need to hope that he sont leave the boat at that point.

Clint, Years ago we had some not so nice apartments. When someone wanted to rent, instead of doing the regular credit/employment check etc/ We had them breathe on a mirror, if it fogged up they were allowed in Just saying

North Carolina BBQ is vinegar based, so it varies depending on your taste. I lean toward a more honey or sweet based BBQ like Arkansas style. Had some mustard based BBQ once, and only once!

My Mom used to make a real good BBQ sauce with vinegar, tomato paste and some sugar... and of course a few other ingredients.

Now the big question is pulled, shredded, ground or on the bone?

Just to add to the mix

Inline, If you cook it good and slow for a long time it will fall off the bone and already be shredded [what you call pulled] That;s a good way to tell when it's ready Pick it up by the bone and all the meat falls off

I'm not much of any kinda sauce fan, I like it plain with a shot of Tabasco sauce.

I used to cook a whole pig but lately I've been cooking a butt in foil real slow then [kinda like inline] when it done maybe char it a little

I'm getting a mental image of Inline gnawing on a bone with his girlfriend in a Tom Jones scene

Moyock13 - No need to thank

Jamesbo - I dont cook it that far, i want it to be still intact, " on the bone". Pulled, in my opinion, lacks the "feel of meat" on your mouth when you gnaw it.
I cant stand tabasco sauce

Now to heat sauna, and put my pork rib to sauna stove

Kwik mernin', all....

All this poke talk got me to take a rack out of the deep-freeze for B.H.'s long-awaited return tomorrow.

Mike, a coupley unanswered points: the only thing I've used your magic spray penetrant on was the deadbolt keyhole for the garage, a day after I had pressure-washed the door. Lock had frozen up, and the magic sauce freed it up good! So far, I likes it.

Answer 2: Yes. (Just kiddin'!)
Thus far, I've tried (as I think I mentioned to you) 8 different cans of spray black paint of various chemical makeups and gloss levels. The most interesting (and sad) fact I've learned is that every one of them seems fairly soft, even after curing for months. I guess to get a real, rock-hard finish, you really need to go with a two-component product you spray yourself. I still have 4 cans (for 12 total) I haven't tested yet. Some are really nice looking and spray on beautifully. Two "honorable mention) are Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy for gloss, and Krylon Maxx Matte for a duller finish. Any of these with the desired gloss level will work OK for suspension components, since all the surfaces will be well prepared, primed, and applied well. But for things like inner fenders, radiator covers, air cleaners, etc., not sure what I'll be using.

Jamesbo, every time I think there's hope for you, we get a crack like the "wall toss" one. As a Mopar fan once (infamously) wrote to a Buick friend of mine: "Sham on you!"

Whelpt, it's house-cleanin' day.

Have a great Frightday (as Casper once said), Olds pals.

Hi everyone.

Ah we made it. Friday. Gonna be a busy weekend. Going to a car show at a church tomorrow, then head up Rome, GA, way and look at a Valiant.

Mike what is a BH dog? Big Hammer? Should be an F in there. How's the Delmont?

John hope Better Half (oh I get it now) has a safe trip home tomorrow. Mom must be getting along better. Prayers that that continues.

Heard about more rain today, but so far sunny and dry. Went out and mowed a little this afternoon. Got home a little early this morning and got into bed. Nice to sleep for an extended amount of time for a change.

Okay question. I'm gonna buy a new car trailer, long, wide, brakes, wood floor. I can get a 20ft one for 2600 and it has 3500 axles. Should I spring for the 5200 axles? I realize you have to take into account the weight of the trailer, but I don't plan on towing anything that weighs over 5000. Is there some reason I would need the heavier axles? They are probably less than 1K upgrade. Also, is a wood deck better than a metal deck or verse visa?

Clint how are you doing with the hail damage?

Okay gonna get moving. Have a good weekend everyone.

Slantflat, go with the stock axels, no need to spend the extra money, unless you are hauling construction equipment with it. Keep the wood floors sealed and you should have no problems. also if a board goes bad you can swap it out yourself and save a dollar.

that Chihuahua is the bitingest s o b, even though she is a girl, that I have ever seen. we bred and raised Chihuahua for a long time, and haven't had any dogs for the last 4 years, after we had to put our last one down for congestive heart failure. Was a Valentines day present for her after about 3 years of hints.

BH wielded a BFH on the kids for years, by the way.

Delmont is coming along slowly, as funds become available. A lot of pieces missing from the A/C system, and found cut wires going to a fast idle control that was supposed to be on the carb for when the A/c is turned on. TH400 is slipping going into 2nd gear, but I think a fluid and filter change along with adjusting the vacuum modulator, might fix it.

Have nephew up in Colorado looking for the a/c duct work for under the dash. Since he can get it super cheap. He is working on a 67 442 and a 66 GTO currently, don't know how he can do 2 cars at once. He has a couple others, but he is mostly a MOPAR man. (boo-hoo)

Good morning everyone.

Dreadful, dreadful night. Clueless lead gives the Friday guy(me) and the overtime guy a plane with seat belt problems and First Class seat problems. Neither of us knows anything about either of these. Plus the plane is staying on the ground all day, so why the heck give it to us? I left the parking lot at 720. I was pissed. Got home and saw Tiger and forgot all about it.

So the Valiant I wanted to go look at today sold. Eh, there will be more. Gonna leave in a little while to see that car show at the church. That's if I can stay awake. I'm beat. The car show should perk me up, though.

Hm, about time to take attendance to see who hasn't been here. Paul. Adrian. Scot. Remember that Bulldog guy? He hasn't been here for years.

Okay gonna get the day going. Hope everyone has a good Saturday.

Afternoon all,

Nice easy day today apart from a bit of a headache, I'm sure my brain is growing!
Chilling in front of the TV watching football and drinking tea, that's my idea of heaven.

Got an interesting project I'm thinking about, a 61 Ford Classic, which normally has a puny 1200cc engine but in its place we put a 5 litre Mustang engine, I've had the car 15 years and it's been left alone all that time, could be either cool or expensive.

London weather report. Cool and cloudy, improving later, scattered showers at high 60s.

Moyock I have a soft spot for 1968 four door Valiants. My Grandmother bought one new and drove it all the time I was growing up. I have that car now and have had several others, all exactly the same. Nothing special per se, but really enjoyed riding along on errands, going to lunch, doing whatever. I suppose it would have been the same had she bought a Falcon, but Valiant it is.

London that project will be cool AND expensive.

Nice car show today. About 30 cars, my friend got an honorable mention for her 72 GMC. Someone had a Deux Chevaux(sp?) which was pretty cool looking.

Okay now to get something done before the day slips completely away.

A Citroen 2CV? I think that I have only seen one of those at a car show, other than that, on TV or in movies, as in 007's "For Your Eyes Only". Neat cars.

Good Morning guys.

Sunny sunday, promises over 70F temps. Yard-cleaning day.
Still pondering what to do with my Cutlass. All options are open.

LondonCutlass - I just copy what slantflat said: cool and expensive!

Okay, have a good day everyone, and enjoy the end of weekend.
Hard work at next week again.
