Hi everyone.
Almost 80 here in the Greater Stockbridge Area. Don't know what it's supposed to be tonight, but I'll be ready. Unlike last night. I was thinking I had a jacket at work, so left out of the house without one, and when it got cold I went looking for said jacket, only to remember I had gotten grease on it last week and brought it home. My best alternative was my rain coat.
Allan that's no biggie. Like I said, most people I know call me Mikey and I'm used to it. Certainly mature enough not to throw a fit when someone does. Funny how age does that to a guy.
Sandy hope you're having a nice day with Nicole.
Jamesbo don't sweat it. John and I didn't get together on account of me having the croup. I think I'm better now and if he's gonna be around another week we'll try it again this week some time. He'll be the one to bring it all up, so stay tuned. If he's headed back to the swamp, maybe you and I can get together and break bread one time this week.
John the car looks pretty neat. That seems to be the look everyone is going for these days. Beats the socks off the robot monster look from a few years ago.
Time once again to hit the bricks. If night 2 goes like last night did, I'll be in good shape. Having a peek at the lead for tonight, though, I'm guessing it won't be.
Hope Monday is kind to everyone. Have a good night.

Hey Allan, thanks for the heads up. Still sitting in the scrap yard in the Delta all in-tacked. I will pull the dip stick to look at the oil and take a bar to see it she would turn. If locked up, $50.00??
Well just back from the curling game. Woo hoo! Put an X in the win column.
On the way to curling I drove through the first snowfall of the season. Big wet fluffy white flakes. In some areas it was so thick visibility was down to a couple hundred meters. That'll teach me to wash the car. Still drizzling out at 9:30 and temps look like they're going below zero tonight. Should be fun for the morning commute.
Kyle, if it's seized? I wouldn't buy it. period. Way too much that could be wrong and you wouldn't know what until you pop off the heads to look. If the breaker bar will move the crank you should be ok. But the cheaper you can get it obviously the better.
Mike - I get it but at the same time I felt bad to have picked out an early sore spot unintentionally.
Well, about another 1/2 hour and its time to hit the old snooze button.

Good morning everyone.
Surprise surprise. Not a bad night at work. And it didn't get all that cold. I like when things go my way for a change.
Here's a question for the technical types. I want to add cornering lamps to the blue van. I know factory CL go through the switch in the column, and the G20 never had CL, so where would I get power out of the system but not have them flash with the turn signals?
Time for bed. Friday tonight, dare I wish for three good ones in a row? Have a good day everyone.

You got it Dan! I see I'm not alone. We didn't get quite that much though. Just it seems to have come early this year. Temps are still at 32 and the high only going to 37 today. Wish I had your weather up here. You got highs of around 70 today.
Hi everyone.
Nice day for sleeping. It would have been a nicer day to be outside, but it's supposed to keep it up all week so that works for me.
Jamesbo had it right with the worm. I wouldn't count getting the worm since I'd been up all night and had just got home. Sure I was home early. Not the same.
That snow is just vulgar.
Welcome Big Fella, and hope everything goes well with the birth. I think you should name him Mike.
Friday for me, then four off. I wouldn't mind another early out like I've been having, but Friday syndrome abounds. Eh, they can't hurt me. It all pays until 7.
Gonna hit the road. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Evening all!
Had a gorgeous day here today! 70* with clouds and sun. Still nice out there tonight. We have tomorrow to enjoy then it cools off. They're talking snow Friday and the weekend.
Lows in the 20's at night.
Sure wish I was in Arizona........
Nicole finally showed up this morning around 10. She said she got in the area around 2 am and just stayed at a motel so she wouldn't wake us up. It's nice to have her here.
For me anyhow....
We watched TWD today since she missed it last night, and watched The Vampire Diaries and the Originals. Then we colored her hair a reddish brown, and we went out cruisin in Teepo! Teepo was happy, lol. She hasn't been driven since the 11th. We went over Hudson way and down some backroads. I let Nicole drive her down our street and around the block.
She was nervous. She couldn't believe the steering wheel with it's finger spaces after being used to these new fat ones in the cars, lol. She didn't like the brakes much and wondered how I could see out of the car to drive it cause it's so big and the front end is 'square', lol. She said she liked driving it though. I just laughed at her nervousness and comments.
I made some potato salad this morning and bought some fresh hamburger and buns this afternoon and I grilled burgers and hot dogs and chicken tenders for supper tonight. It was yummy! Perfect day for a cook out.
Nicole went to a movie tonight with her friend Tommy. I don't know what we're going to do tomorrow. Maybe watch some more recorded shows.
Well I'm gonna get off of here, have a good night all.

Allan, that was my dad's '71 98, either just after it was pulled out of the snow about a week earlier from the blizzard of '78, or the '79 New Years snow storm. Note the Bicentennial (the U.S.) plates with a newer year tag on 'em.

Congrats on the new ankle biter Big Fella.
Cold this morning but not below freezing as they predicted. probably about 35F right now.
Filled out ballots last night. Its kinda disturbing to me that the robo calls quit when you turn in your ballot. If the parties know I turned in my ballot, do they also know how I voted? what happened to a secret ballot?
Have a day all.

Morning, all... a moderate 60* up here. Sure hope those snowflakes and 30s stay up in the northern regions for a while...
Jamesbo, you did get the worm.... Anyhoots, as things look now, we'll try and get together at end of year, or right after New Year. You and Mike could do something in my absence. I'm sure you'd just love to meet at an Awful House and eat some of dem synthetic grits...
(jes kiddin', Mike
).
Soooo... thanks, Clint, I like it too. Hope all's going a little better for you these days in the Rocky Mountain State.
Allan, your prospective ride looks mitey sharp. You'd swear those were taken by the manufacturer or something
.
Sandy, glad you're getting to spend some quality time with with the progeny. Wish you could have snapped us a pic of Nicole behind the wheel.

Have a great Tiu's day, Oldsmofriends.

Just back after a quick round of appointments. Got a few more this afternoon. Temp is not much better, it's only warmed up to around 27° and thank God there's no wind. Gas is coming down in price here - it would be the equivalent of 3.81/US gallon which is quite a relief at the pumps here. Analysts are saying with oil expected to tank to 75/barrel the price should be dropping another 20¢/gallon which will be really nice, especially now that with cold weather the car is using more gas on cold starts.
John - Yup, you are a quick study my friend. Those are indeed manufacturers pics but dad gum it, they sure do look purty don't they?
Clint - Hmmm, ever watched Conspiracy Theory? Could be playing out in your back yard. Your comment is a haunting reality of possibly things to come. Whoever thought the concept of Big Brother up has been obviously taken up on the execution of the details.
Jim - Whaaaa??? No more smackin Whitey??? Hope you had fun whackin de gubment employees instead.
Dan - I recognized the car/model but didn't know if 71 or 72 at first. Then I noticed it didn't have the upper red reflector on the upper part of the chrome outline. I never go by license plates because lots of folks put commemorative or YOM plates on the car sometimes. That's about an average snowfall up here in Dec-Mar.
Mike - hope you had a good time at awful house. The weekend awaits! Whatcha got planned?

Hi everyone.
No Awful house for me today. Got home from work about 0630 and hit the sack. I'll be there bright and early tomorrow. Hopefully the guy I gave my chainsaw to has it fixed and running like a top.
S'posed to be nice all week so I got yard work planned, working on cars, gonna hit the junkyard, and probably a lot of goofing off.
Sandy you got the right idea. I'm going to hang up the Saturn for the week and drive an old car.
John have fun painting. Say hi to the mayor of Cuba for me.
Guess I'll get things going. Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Yup, I imagine there's vents under that pile o snow. Differences between 71 and 72 is like the differences between 71/72 A body. Very slight, but there. Some were also mechanical, but most were cosmetic.
Evening All!
The last of our nice weather today.
More clouds than sun, but it got up to 72*!! Cooling off now, had light showers a few times during the day.
Didn't do much today but the day went fast. Nicole and I went to Streetsboro noonish and had a chicken wrap at Pulp. Then went to Wal-Mart. I stopped at the Verizon store on the way home to talk to them about my mi-fi. Seems Wal-Mart is selling pre paid cards now..... They have a $20 card that gives you 6 gigs of data and lasts 190 days. If I would buy 2 of those cards, I'd have one extra gig of data for $10 cheaper, and it would be good for 3 months. Right now I pay $50.14 each month for 5 gigs of data. I usually use 1 gig....
The store couldn't offer me any deals so they called customer service and I talked to them. The girl couldn't find any deals just for data plans, and finally told me to switch to the card and save the money! So I'm going to look into it and see what I would have to do. Ten bucks is ten bucks!
I called Windstream on Monday and they couldn't offer me any deals on the home phone/internet, so I'm probably going to get it disconnected. Save $80 a month. I find it amazing that there are all sorts of deals for 'new' customers, but nothing for people who have been customers for years!
I went out and got the burlap and covered up my Hydrangea bush before it snows on Friday.
Poor kids will be trick or treating in their coats and crappy weather. It's only supposed to be in the 30's on Saturday.
I haven't told the guys at work yet that I'll be back on Monday. I might take some stuff in Thurs. or Fri. and tell them. I have to go over to the shop and fax the release to HR in Houston. These 8 weeks off sure have went fast! Figures I go back the day after we set the clocks back, which I hate, and I'll have to listen to Brian tell everyone how much he loves this time change and how he's getting an extra hour of sleep! I still don't know where he gets that.... still 24 hrs. in a day!
Guess I'll finish my painting project when Nicole leaves. She gets the puppy tomorrow and will be heading out sometime after that. Man I'm gonna miss her!! Larry hasn't even asked her how it's going, if she found a job yet, or anything. I don't get him....
Well I guess I'm going to watch TV now, so you all have a nice evening. Happy birthday Adrian! I think it's tomorrow over there, lol.

Evening everyone. Great day here, was 68 and sunny. Cleaned up the yard and mowed it, so it looks nice at least for a day anyway.
I tried out for a USTA tennis team on Sunday and ended up in 4 matches, playing for 5 hours. I slept like a baby that night, lol. Anyway, I believe I made the team but won't know until Saturday.
Clint - that's amazing that the political parties know you turned in your ballot already. Talk about big brother. Was it a computer or mail in ballot? I know I'm getting pretty tired of all the negative political ads and politicians who side step questions and refuse to give you a straight answer. I thought they worked for us anyway? My rant for the day, sorry!
Sandy- glad to hear you got Teepo out for a ride. We're running out of good weather to do it. BTW, are you supposed to cover up a hydrangea bush before we have frost?
Well, have a good night everyone.

Mornin all,
Darrell, Mail in (or drop off), but it's hard to have faith in our elections anymore. Since we are mail in only, and some districts have more registered voters than actual populations it makes you wonder if your vote really counts.
Allan, No, I never saw that show. Heard about a couple of episodes tho. That was the one with Ventura in it, wasn't it?
Sandy, Our snow is spose to be here Monday.
I knew it had to show up sooner or later. Hey it is almost November,
John, Good days and bad. Thank you for the thoughts. Seems like the happiest part of the day is getting getting to see the missus after work.
Have a Humpday all.

Good morning everyone.
One thing about going to bed early, we think we need to get up early. So here I am all ready to go and the dogs have now gone back to bed. Nice.
I'm sure I must have mentioned that I'm trying to buy some property close to me. Two acres and a big pole barn. Well, the realtor finally got around to pitching my offer and the "very motivated seller" came back with, listed price! What a clown. I said, perhaps this is why the place has been for sale for years. I thought I gave a pretty good offer. I haven't decided yet if I want to counter that or tell him to go pound sand.
Darrell, 10SNE1? Saw that on a license plate once.
Well, Awful house comes early and then I can get the day started early. Plan to work on the black truck today. Oil change, scrub it up good, maybe even get a couple tires for it.
Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Morning everyone.
Yesterday afternoon I got a nasty surprise. Turns out our neighbors cat has started using the lawn by the shed as its pooping ground. There were 17 piles of crap in a 96 sq ft ara. Needless to say I wasn't happy. I went over and told her that this has to stop. She says she'll look after it. It's not normal for cats to crap on lawns, usually they use a flower bed or sand box. Anyhow, this ones days are numbered. If it keeps up it'll be on its way to animal control central. We know it's their cat because we saw it do its business and then try to stare us down.
Mike, so that license plate was for a tennis player. "Tennis anyone?" I saw one when I was younger that simply read 1066 so I asked the guy if his last name was Hastings. He looked surprised but said yes, how did I know? Easy, 1066 was the battle of Hastings.
So I'm wearing a Holter monitor because my cardiologist wants to see if the ticker is skipping a beat or something. It's a darn annoying thing to sleep with but on the good side I can still do pretty much everything else without it getting in the way. No shower till it comes off though.
Clint, no it's not a TV show. It's a show with Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson. Definitely worth the time to watch. You'd really appreciate it in lieu of the politics implied by your robot calls and ballet comment.
Darrell, lucky you. I might get a chance to cut the lawn on Friday. That's the only day the temp here will be up to the low 50s.
Jim, how'd yer pollytickle sojourn go wit de gubment employees? Ya git eny ovem lined up fer a plot?
Well, koffees ready. Drop by if you want a cup.
Enjoy your day!

Cloudy Wednesday
Morning, all... very quiet around here... I think it's waiting until I resume the pressure washing and then it's going to pour.... I'd really like to finish with that today, since I have to let things dry out for a couple days before the actual painting begins. I'll be cuttin' it close...
Mike, sounds as if you were really dealing with yet another moron.... LIST PRICE? Motivated Seller? Give me a stinkin' break.
Anyhoots, better half is staring holes in my head waiting for me to get off the 'puter, so I'll just close by giving a good ol' fashioned Happity Humpity, Oldsmofriends.

Well I hate being lied to. I kept hearing how nice it was gonna be all week, and here it is raining. It's now going to be an inside day. The dogs will like that.
Allan why don't you like Mel [G]ibson?
John I may need to get creative. This offer this and offer that with the go-between gets nothing done. It should be like buying/selling a car. Get together, hash it out, get it done.
Okay see ya.

Because you called him Mel Fibson. Sounded like he isn't a man of his word.
So my challenge for the day is going to be finding something to be a closet rod. Eight feet long and won't bend in the middle without support. I'm thinking C channel.

Jim - if you wasted your day at silly hall, you'll do the same today. In de wurld of pollyticks dats known as 'got a meeting today'. No productivity and a lot of hot air.

Mike - Typo. I was using the iPad this morning and it's keypad is more hunt and peck than a PC keyboard. Actually I really like Mel Gibson movies and could care less about his comments about religion that got him into hot water. I'll go back and fix dat fer ya. Funny it never showed up on spell cheque.

Evening All!
Had some sun today but a lot of clouds too. Temps were in the 50's. It cooled down real quick last night.
The day went fast today. Nicole and I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Then went to PetSmart and got some things for her puppy, Enzo (name is from a character on the Vampire Diaries). Then over to Wal-Mart and I bought a bed for Enzo and a couple toys for the cats, got her a few cheap Christmas signs for her yard. She got some puppy things there too. By then it was time to go to Aurora to get Enzo! He sure is cute!! He was born on Sept.3rd, my surgery date lol. He is a ball of energy. Got back home after 2 and Dude sure didn't like that dog coming in the breezeway, lol. His tail bristled up and out he went! Nicole brought Enzo in and kept him on the kitchen floor in case of accidents. He whined some. We took him for a walk down the road. Gathered her stuff up and she took off around 3:30.
She was taking the pup to Doc at her old work, and was going to visit with her friends over there awhile. Then she was going to Tony's and then heading home. It sure was nice having her here.
I made a pot of Jamesbo's hamburger tomato soup yesterday and sent a container of it with Nicole. I froze it last night. She loves it!! It was yummy! I have a small container of it I kept for myself.
Larry came home not speaking. He tried to call me at noon today and I didn't answer. He called yesterday and I didn't answer that one either. I'm sure he thinks I have no time for him since Nicole was here and I was with her all these days. Today I was actually on the phone with Marc in Wal-Mart when he called me. Linda called twice, and Alex sent me a facebook message, all at the same time! I don't hear from anyone for weeks then everyone tries me at once.
Steve called this afternoon. I didn't answer that one either, lol. I figured it would be Brian. He said he was just checking to see how I was (first time in 8 weeks?) and wanting me to call him with an update. What he really wants to know is when I'm coming back to work, lol. So I'll just go in tomorrow and take some things back so I'm not lugging everything on Monday, and tell them I'll be back. I have to fax the release to Houston too. I was going to go to the shop tomorrow and fax it from there and take Larry to lunch, but hell with that now. Gee.... he took off a whole week when his daughter was here and I gave them plenty of alone time and I didn't get mad or jealous at all.....
Jamesbo.... thank you!!
Right back at ya!
Darryl... we've had 2 heavy frosts here already. The leaves on the Hydrangea were already red. It's still just small, and it seems to do better when I cover it in the winter. I don't really know if you're supposed to cover them, but seems to me I read somewhere to do it.
Gonna be lonely in here tomorrow again.
I'll go down to work and get that done, come home and probably paint the trim in the hallway or something. Damned deer have been emptying my 2 bird feeders each night. I already bring in the sunflower seed feeders and the suet blocks each night. I can't bring them all in!
I need to go see Bob and tell him those window vent things they put on Tincanio, the drivers side one isn't sealed good or something, and see if he can do anything. When I have the wipers on, water comes down along the bottom of the window, so I still can't have the windows cracked!

Holy advertisements above the reply box
Just ordered a buncha parts for a small block conversion on a 260Z we have at the shop. Not sure he's gonna find big enough meats for the back of that car to find any traction. Oh well, not my call.
Sandy Enzo is awfully cute.
Allan, I didn't see that movie. I've always been a Gibson fan going way back to his first movie. It's sad seeing (almost) anyones meltdown. And there seem to be plenty going around.
Have a thursday all.

Morning everyone
No cable this morning. Both TVs say channels should be available shortly. Ah, they're back so I can catch the news now.
AnYone got a solution for noisy condo owners who decide that 11:00-12:00 pm is the perfect time to head out on the deck and be rowdy? Something effective because they simply don't get it that most peeps sleep at those hours.
Clint, I remember the 260Z quite well. It seemed to have sufficient power back in the day. Really light on the rear like you say. What size SB are you installing? How much mod is required to slot it in there?
Jim, have fun in Hotlanta. Yer friends are lucky to have ya.
Belated Happy Birfday Adrian! Time for an update here.
Koffees reddy so time to jump on it, den head out to visit wit de boys

Ouch! At 3.00 am (as i was getting ready for bed) I thought that I heard the cat go through the door to the kitchen (where his food is kept) and decided to get him out of there, and put down the door stopper, of course I didn't bother to turn on the light, and as I turn to come out of there...BAM!! hit my eye right on the kitchen cabinet...%&*#, went to the bathroom to have a quick look (by the way it sounded LOUD when I smacked it) it looked ok, went back to the kitchen (light on) to get an ice pack as I figured that it would swell and turn color. get back to the bathroom, and hmm, some blood, lets have a closer look. Crap, a nice 1" slice between my eye brow and upper lid, nasty looking, I thought that I should have it stitched, but, then I wouldn't get back home from the E.R. until about 5 am. I put some Murpirocin and a band aid on it. Still looking nasty this morn., more Murpirocin and a fresh band aid...looking a little purple.
