Holy Yichees! It's........

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Sunshine and gentle breeze here. Nice too - around 65° with forecast high around 70.

Gotta go get a replacement hammer handle. Apparently Hickory doesn't last as long as I thought it would and I'm too cheap to go buy a 45.00 metal hammer. The one that broke is a 18" handle, but a ripping claw framing hammer. PA (aka HF) has those handles for around 6.00. Also need some more reciprocating saw blades. Crap! Those things aren't cheap.

John (hee hee hee, your name is easy to spell). Good to hear back from you and I'll thing cheery thoughts about your retirement! I had thought about the same thing after I retired. When I left, I was in the middle of a large project that no one else wanted and I feared they would ask me to return under a PSA until it was completed. I was glad not to go back because the BS meter had reached epidemic proportions back then. HA! 4 years later the project is still stalled out where I left it apparently. No one knows how to work with the document formatting I applied to the project so they just stare at it and keep looking for the 'tab' marks that aren't there. They also have no clue about auto numbering multi level procedures.

Sandy - It won't rain. Keegan does sound like an interesting guy. I assume he's pretty young?

Clint - Stents don't sound like much fun. Just got off the phone with Glenn. He's progressing well, and he had to go because the home care nurse had just arrived. He sounded really good and is very positive about the recovery. I think one of the things that got him into this mess in the first place was a poor lifestyle choice (same as your friend) and he started shedding the weight too late to make any difference.

Mike - You drive the new Stang on your trip?

Jim - Now DAT sounds like de life ta live. I envy's ya, son.

Hey all. A muggy one here today and about 90. Was able to spend a little time finishing up the work on the Cutlass. Got it ready for the Carlisle show and will be leaving Friday.

John - great to hear from you. Thanks for the kind words.

Jamesbo - I think you corrupted Allan. He now talks like he is also from Georgia. Great, now there's two people I can't understand.

Clint - will be in Colorado Springs next Thursday through Sunday am. If you're interested, there is a joint Riviera and Toronado show next Friday. Location and information link: http://www.rivowners.org/features/an...s14/index.html

If you can't make it, maybe we can figure out a way to possibly meet on Saturday if you're free.

Night all.

Mornin all

Darrell thats sounds like it may work. I doubt I can get away during the week, but maybe we can meet up on Saturday somewhere. It'll be good to get Brit out for a little jaunt.

Allan, I thought I'd be proactive and get the 5 lb sledge, axe, and maul all with the 'unbreakable' fiberglass handles since my wife is a bit rough on things. Well, they haven't broken yet, but man they sure look like he!!.

Sandy, Hope it drys out a bit. Nasty cell went thru Wauseon yesterday and tore a bunch of stuff up. Sounds like a few trees came down at the boneyard.

Looks like we get to spend the weekend at home. Have to wait for the rooter guy on Sat morning for a maintenance cleanout of the main. otherwise, I need to get the overgrown lawn mowed, and then work on the quads for next months race.

Have a Thursday all!

Thor's Day again, Allan

Copy & paste in the swamp today; "the muggies" predominate. Sandy and Darrell, sorry this stuff goes all the way up to Midwest and Yankee Land... and it ain't even summer yet. And speakin' of summer, its first day is the better half's birthday. Need to figure out where she wants to go eat... since we've waited so long, we're pretty much relegated to non-reservation kinda' places... but that's OK.

Spose to hit 92* here today. Caught a little shower on way home yesterday, and that took a little of the edge off the peak temps.

Have a safe trip to Carlisle, Darrell. That's somewhere I want to visit (and Hershey, too) while I still have two legs.

Clint, glad to see your alarm clock is still in perfect working order , and you haven't lost your taste for worm.

Jamesbo, your mountain itinerary sounds well deserved -- and fun. I'm looking forward to our trip big-time....

Mike, now I keep fantasizing about getting a new vehicle... let's see, if I sell Coppertone, trade in the F-150, and sell the Camry outright, I can get a new Tundra! Let me tink on dat....

Here's another one for ya John!
Thor meets a young maiden who entices him to spend the evening. She has a funny lisp but it doesn't matter to him if you know what I mean. So they sleep with one another, have a wonderful night. The next morning, Thor says, ‘Fair maiden, I must confess and tell you who I am: I'm Thor.’ And she says, ‘You're thor? I can hardly walk!'”

Not a great day today. Only 60 here but humid. Yesterday Graeme and I finally finished the demolition of the old deck. I didn't realize how well I built it the first time. I guess that's why it took so long to come apart. Well that's what Mike Holmes says anyway and I'm sticking to it.

Started raining about 10 minutes after we got it torn down and tools put away. Rained fairly steady with some heavy downpours all night and morning. More on the way so nothing planned for outside today. Even the skeeters are hiding out.

Dan -

Mike - don't forget to check in once in a while.....unless you're having too much fun.

Clint - I've seen fibreglass jobs but have always wondered if they would hold up to the vibrations of impact. WTH are you letting your missus loose with them for? She's got a big **** truck - with chains. She can just run over anyone who doesn't see her side....

Jim - go figger huh? I unnerstans ya jess find. sieds onee yuen me seems ta nose how ta komunikayt wit eech udder. wonna dese days ah gots ta meetcha in de flesh so ta speek so eye kin fine out wutcher reely like. sookay if wese tok in kode lke dis, no one essl nose wutit meens.

Scot - Come on out brother! Where ya hiding? Off on another boat trip or did you decide to buy that raceway after all?

Evening everyone. Getting ready to drive to Pennsylvania tomorrow morning for GM Carlisle. It's a good 285 miles door to door. Should be good travel weather. Hope to see some fellow classic olds members there at the show.

John- a Tundra? Not a bad truck but you should also look at the Ram. I've had mine now for almost 3 years. I love it.

Jamesbo - a great line on a great movie.

Clint- we'll aim for Saturday. I'll be glad to help you get your Olds out for some exercise.

Have a good night all.

Mornin all.

Darrell, Too bad you cant stay til the following Monday. That Sunday is 'the race to the clouds'. We'll have to find an Awful house for breakfast just for posterity. Have a safe trip to PA.

Allan, Thats a Funny Funny.I had to share that one. Let's get one thing straight. I don't 'let' the missus do anything. she does what she does whether I 'let' her or not. I've just realized there are some things I need to prepare for. Example: the chainsaw sits with her chain on it. When I need to use the saw, I did my chain out of hiding and put it on. when I'm done, I put her chain back on. That way I'll be able to cut what I need without getting frustrated. I've been married long enough to know that at some point while she is cutting whatever it is shes cutting, the bar will make at least one trench in the yard or a pretty design in the concrete driveway.

Sandy. The kid is starting to settle in the new job. She is retaining a lot each day and that makes it much easier. She was able to get out back and get away from the cats and dogs and worked with some bigger animals yesterday. That is her forte` anyhow. She's much more comfortable there. She didn't even mind dealing with the llama with the bad attitude.

John, I'm done bi!#$hing about it. I'm up. I'm getting used to the worm.

Have a Friday all.

He's now an Instructor at Camp Frank Merrill in Daholenga [the Ranger mountain School] Gald he liked me.

Nope can't afford the track and would love to be back on the lake in a pontoon But we are currently trying to get everything in order to head to the beach next week We are heading to HHI in SC. Seems to be a way better venue than Tybee Island and only about 35 minutes further away.

Anywho I've got to head to town in a bit to get some pool chemicals, HVAC filters and a few other things.

Have a great Friday and a safe weekend my friends

Jim - Sounds like you and Red Dog are having a great time.

Clint - My missus doesn't even put gas in the car, and the only tools she cares about are the ones in the kitchen. Graeme knows how to use my tools, but prefers manual ones and won't use the pneumatic ones. I don't care as long as he puts them back when he's done.

Anyone paying attention to the FIFA World Cup? I saw part of the Columbia vs. Ivory Coast yesterday. It was ok, but not really inspiring. A lot of drama by the players. I think they take acting lessons as part of their training.

Ah she has kilt Mr. No Shoulders as well, luckily no rattlers have ventured into the back yard that I am aware of. They are here and on two sides of my yard is wooded, so it is always a worry with the kids and the pets.

Nice not to be at the mine... maybe I'll be able to get used to this?

Hot one, Allan! Those lisps are he11, I tell ya'....

I guess it could be worser, Clint... Hopefully you've been getting a modicum of do-do (not doo-doo) and are well rested. Also, that sounds like a sound strategy for the ol' chainsaw! A man's gotta' do what he's gotta' do...

Whelpt, let me get crackin'... lots to do today, Oldsmobuddies.

Just for you John

A dwarf with a lisp goes into a stud farm, 'I'd like to buy a horth' he says to the owner of the farm.
'What sort of horse?' said the owner.
'A female horth' the dwarf replies. So the owner shows him a mare.
'Nithe horth.' says the dwarf, 'Can I thee her eyeth?'
So the owner picks up the dwarf to show him the horses eyes.
'Nithe eyeth.', says the dwarf, 'Can I thee her teeth?'
Again the owner picks up the dwarf to show him the horses teeth.
Nithe teeth.... Can I see her eerth?' the dwarf says.
The owner is getting fed up but again picks up the dwarf to show him the horses ears.
'Nithe eerth.' He says, 'Now...can I see her twot?'
With this the owner picks the dwarf up by the scruff of his neck and shoves his head deep inside the horse's vagina. He holds him there for a couple of Seconds before pulling him out and putting him down.
The dwarf shakes his head and says:
'Perhaps I should weefwaze that. Can I see her wun awound?

Afternoon all!

Muggy and just started raining here. Lord I'm tired of it already. Temps in the 70's. Got down in to 50's last night. They're calling for rain overnight and morning showers. I sure hope that means real early morning so the roads are dry. 30% chance of rain tomorrow so a 70% chance of dry!

Sunday is the show here in Twinsburg af the Rush Hour Grill. I won that big plaque with the chebelle on it there last year.

Spent last evening in the garage. Cleaned her wheels and tires. Cleaned each white letter on the tires. Vaccumed her out and the trunk, cleaned the glass, cleaned and conditioned her top. She's ready to kick butt! Competition is steep at that show. Last year I think it was a Lincoln that kicked our butt, but the sucker was gorgeous and deserving! It's such a long day at the show. Parking starts at 9 but its already pretty much full by then, and awards aren't until 7. By the time they get to the Original Class its pretty late. It's a great show though.

Steve is off today so no heater has been on! I like it! Brian is pretty quiet which is nice. He got his panties in a bunch yesterday afternoon when he saw that Clay is taking the last week of July off. Brian goes to Fla the first 2 weeks of the month like clockwork. Then the following week they are all here. Then Steve is off the week of the 21st and Clay is taking off the week of the 28th. He couldn't believe that Clay would take that week off, since he will be playing catch up from his vacation, then have to cover for Steve and do his own work, then have to cover for Clay and do his own work! Like no one can take vacation except for him. I told him everyone is entitled to take their vacation. But I guess it should be cleared with him first, since its all about him here!! He will have a week to catch up his stuff from being off,and if he doesn't lean back in his chair and bullshit with everyone and tell them every little aspect of his trip(which is the same each year), he will be able to get his stuff done before having to cover for Steve! Lord he would bitch if you hung him with a new rope..... I said well when I have my surgery I'm going to screw all of you up being out 6 to 8 weeks! Might just be 2 of you here at a time.

I'm tired today. Cleaning Teepo all week has kicked my butt. Still not as strong as I'd like to be yet I guess. Gotta go do our shopping tonight. We never get home until around 10. I gotta get up early... I think we should change shopping to Tuesday nights. No where to go on Tuesday's during cruise season a d its just the beginning of the week. I have more energy then at the end of the week.

Darrell.... hope you make it safely to PA and have good weather and a good time.

Next Tuesday I have to go get my port flushed. Thursday is the Cleveland clinic plastic surgeon. I sure hope they have something open in August. I'm getting real tired of going places and having people look at my ***** and taking pictures and measurements lol! Oh the joys....

Well I better check Steves stuff so you all have a great afternoon.

Hey everyone. Greetings from Carlisle. Managed to make it here in 4 1/2 hours which isn't too bad. Funny story, I was at the NYC toll booth at 5:30am today and there was a 77 delta 88, 83 Cutlass and a 69 Chevy pick up all next to me. What are the odds?

We'll there isn't that many cars here for the show yet, but I did count about 16 in the Olds section. Hopefully more will be here tomorrow.

More updates to come, have a good night.

Ize hear Scot!!

Watching the trees bend with all the wind we've got going. Beautiful blue sky, just windy. Demolition of the old deck was completed yesterday. My coverals were soaked by the time we were done. I think they would be able to stand up by themselves when they dry. Time to wash them.

I expect Sandy is showing off Teepo. See? Told ya it wouldn't rain.

Jim - 200°? Sheesh, ifn ah tolls ya oncet ah tolls ya a bejeelyun times not t' zajerate. Have fun weeding though.

Darrell - enjoy Carlisle.

Clint - took back the Estwing and some sawzall blades yesterday. Then off to get screwed at HD. I bought the wrong joist hangers so I needed to 'exchange' them for the right ones. Not that easy apparently. They costed out 11 @ 1.53 on the original invoice, but only credited me 11@.95 on the return. Then charged out 11@.99 for the exchange?? For the love of trying, they couldn't see how this was wrong....another ongoing saga of dealing with HD. I need to talk with one of the managers to straighten out a simple issue now. Don't understand how the same SKU number can have 2 different cost values. Needless to say I wasn't about to buy any of their FG tools after that.

Howdy everyone.

Got home around 6 this morning. All I can say is I'm really glad to be home. Got the hood home now so when I can get someone to help me it will be proudly displayed in my living room.

John Happy Birthday to your lovely! There are a few of us around with the longest birthday.

Picked up the dogs this morning then hit the sack. My girl wouldn't leave me alone and it was bright sunshine out. But now it's raining so I get what she was worried over. So nothing else will get done today.

I see the Vista Cruiser I've been trying to talk a guy out of has hit CO. I hope no one has any better luck than I have. I'd hate to think I wore him down only for someone else to swoop in and ****** it from under me. I'm going to call the guy again tonight.

Well lots to catch up on so let me do that and I'll sneak back in a little later.

Nah Allan it's still there. New ad June 20. Would it be wrong to ask those guys on the other thread to lay low until I talk to the guy? No I don't need another car but this one is so close! And it would fit right in with everything else I have.

Just had a look at it Mike. Pretty reasonable on pricing actually. (3150) I'm not sure it's fair to ask someone to lay low when it comes to car sales. That's just the nature of the industry, first one with a winning bid gets it. I understand your desire to get the car at a lower price - that's on everyone's wish list. No question the car needs some help, and if it was used to trailer? Might have a weary engine.

The car doesn't appear to be highly optioned. (I know the TH350, power brakes and power steering are options, but we really expect that as a 'standard' feature don't we?) Only thing I see special is AC, SSIII wheels and the OEM saddle floor mats.

Hi again. I can't believe it's 930 already. I haven't done a thing today.

Sandy I was up in New Jersey. I bought a ram air hood from WTony back in December and he's right around the corner from my neighbor's place, so I went up there and we took it to their garage, and I finally had the chance to go up and retrieve it. My advice to anyone driving on the eastern seaboard, is to avoid Washington DC by about a thousand miles. And I thought Los Angeles had a lot of traffic.

Allan that whole car looks tired. He said he has the original hubcaps so I guess the rally wheels were an afterthought, although they are the same color and have the same "patina." If Tedd is looking for a restoration of the likes of that Steve guy, it would be a good car. It does have some fairly serious rust. Of course if Canadians are anything like Chicago, our cars rust up to the windows so who knows.

Darrell hope Carlisle is a lot of fun. I'd like to go up there one of these days. I've actually been to Carlisle, the Corvair club had their shindig up there once.

John I gave up trying to convince people to like what cars I like, but a Tundra? Yes I know they are built in San Antonio. I don't like how the foreign trucks' beds are so shallow. Say what you will about wicked General Motors these days but I wouldn't be without my Silverado. I just don't like Ford trucks and the new Dodge is gorgeous, but a tad overpriced if you ask me. That being said I know several people who absolutely adore their Tundras. Go figure.

So Jamesbo the cast is gone and you have a day to yourself before you have to head back to the big city.

I still haven't had my supper. I keep trying to get my shoes on and then the phone rings. I was going to get Arbys for the dogs and I, but I think they close soon so I might as well hit the Awful house and then get us some ice cream. My sister is coming to visit next week and we're going to Marietta for pizza.

Ah gonna hit the sack soon, I still need to recoup from that long drive. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I can't believe it took me 20 minutes to get this all out.

Good evening everyone! Long time no see.

I have been keeping busy the last couple of weeks.

Took the Mustang to the big Ford Nationals at Carlisle, PA a couple of week ago. I had a great time at the show and on the drive down with a group of local Mustang club members. So many Fords!

I got to drive the Cutlass a couple of times 2 weeks ago. The new disk brakes feel good and no more pulling when I stop hard. I'm not sure how I feel about the new exhaust. At idle and mid-throttle it sounds good, but when I am flooring it the exhaust is sharp and sounds almost like a machine gun.

The Cutlass is currently at a shop for the drivetrain swap. Unfortunately, the transmission I bought from a popular autoparts supplier is not going into any gear. I was really hoping to bring it to the GM only show this weekend.

This afternoon I got to help moving the new and used cars at the dealership that is hosting the GM show tomorrow. Got to drive a variety of cars, but only on their property.

One unexpected sight while at the dealership today was seeing a Taurus Interceptor actually flying. It was like a scene out of a movie. The police cruiser got hit (out of sight) but I saw it flying almost on it's side at an angle which allowed me to see it's underside. It landed in a ditch on it's wheels, between a street light and sign. The officer got up and walked out of it. The driver of the other car also walked away.

I'll try to get caught up on the thread (once again) over the next couple of days.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.

Top of the morning to you all.

Like Jamesbo said, sunny with rain on the horizon. Work tonight, only two this week since I took last night off.

Normally I'd be sleeping in today but I've got a few things to do so I'll sleep this afternoon. Or try to. This will give me an opportunity to go to the Awful house, and I haven't been there in like a week or more.

Jamesbo this is your opportunity to remodel the entire bathroom.

Okay see you all later. Happy Sunday.

Beautiful morning in the frozen wastelands today. All the polar bears are complaining about the heat. At least the wind keeps the skeeters at bay.

Jim - I think the product you're looking for is called thinset tile mortar. Sorry to hear it came off, but if it was just 10 tiles it likely means they weren't attached properly in the first place. By any chance was this at the bottom of the shower? If it was chances are you have moisture issues under the surface and that needs to be fixed before you just glue on new tiles and grout the. Kind of like putting a band aid where you need sutures. BTW if you let de supermodel take charge of the repair, be prepared to spend big $$$ from the sounds of this.

Mike - don't know what to say bud. Some parts of Canada are like your area for corrosion. Just not mine, thank God.

Paul - Sorry to hear about the tranny issues. Hope it works out without busting the budget.

Allan, My " new Austerity program" is trying to figger out a way to patch dis and not remove de whole shooting match. Dis house is 'bout 150 years old and everyone who werked here thought it would be torn down way long ago. It's a living example of how not to do stuff.

Insted of a frame off restoration, I'm "thinking" 'bout try'in some qucik drying dry wall patch with metal mesh, den re set de tiles with thin set, grout dem and hope to move before de place falls down around me

Sounds like a smart move on your part. Just make sure you do a good enough job that a home inspector for the new buyers don't pick apart your handywork. Gee, if it's already lasted 150 years, it should last a few more till you can get shy of it.

LOL - when you sell it, list it as an historic property and let the buyers bid it up. Seems to be a real market for that lately. My sister has a house on de south side of the city (I'm way up on de nort side). Her house is close to 110 years old but has been fixed up professionally about 30 years ago to meet code. So all new wiring, plumbing etc. Last night I was there visiting and she said the insurance co said they would no longer insure the house for water or snow penetration because the roof was more than 50 years old. Huh? She just had the whole roof done last year and it cost big bucks. She asked the insurance dufus if they needed a copy of the roof certification so they could reinstate her coverage. A lonnng pause on the phone and they said ' never mind, we'll believe you' and put the coverage back. HTH would they know how old the roof is on yer house??? Heck, mine is only 14 years and I have to replace the hip roof shingles. Shouldn't have to because they are rated for 25 years. I'm doing it myself because I know how and am cheap.

Hey everyone. Don't know where the rain went but it's hotter than H out there. Note that this isn't a complaint.

Allan if the shingles are 11 years shy of their warranty why don't you call and have them done by the outfit that put them there? I wish I lived in a really old house. With all the nice woodwork and real wood floors and the wavy glass windows.

So I got ahold of the Vista Cruiser guy today and met him and had a real good look at the car. The inside wasn't as nice as I had hoped, but it wasn't all ripped up. Come to find out it has tilt wheel and someone took the tilter off. While digging around a little while later we found said lever and reinstalled it and sho-nuff it's tilt wheel! It does not have the third seat. The guy was telling me all the work he still wanted to do to it, and I kept asking what he'd take for it as is. He wouldn't answer the question. He'd just say he wanted me to see the car as it sits, then come back later and see it run. He must think I'm retired. I told him, as a mechanic, I don't really want him to get it running just for the sake of it, because I want to do the work myself and not have to assess and/or redo someone else's work. That got me nowhere. So I said I'd meet him on my days off and help him get it going. Sheesh I wonder if he really wants to sell it.

Paul that's cool you got to drive some different cars. Just sitting in something new is nice sometimes.

John I hope your better half's day was a success. I also heard yesterday was Left Hander's day. Hm, I'm two for two.

Okay gotta move a couple of the cars and get myself to work. Hope everyone had a good weekend and starts off with a good week.
