Good evening everyone!

For everyone giving me a hard time about driving the Cutlass home when there was snow around, I have a question: Any opinions on driving the Mustang all winter?

I'm part of the local Mustang club, and tonite they had their Christmas party. I was one of only 2 Mustangs in the parking lot, and I was being given a hard time for actually driving it in the snow! Obviously it was all kidding around though.

It is still cold, but we are supposed to get about 15-20 cm of snow overnight and the wind is blowing it all over. On the highway tonite, I couldn't see for a few seconds after a bus passed me and created a nice cloud of snow.

Sandy, now you know where the snow is going when it leaves Ohio Good to hear you are feeling better.

Mike, I thought fuel economy was supposed to improve as the engine broke in?

You saw a Thunderbolt Jamesbo? Wow.

Darrell, glad to hear you are feeling better.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Hey Paul, no I wasn't bustin on ya for driving the Cutlass home. In fact I like that you did. It's a great handling car in the winter too, especially with winter tires. I remember mine when I used it as a DD in the AB winters and it performed really well. Only thing I didn't care for was the lack of electric rear defog on glass.

As far as driving the stang all winter? Go for it! Cars are made to be driven - just drive defensively. We're about done with the snow out here for a bit. I think you're getting some of the remnants of the storm that hit us for the last 4 days. We got an easy 20cm here and the roads are total crap. Even the sand/salt doesn't seem to work at -20 though. I think we need that new sugar beet juice mixture they use in BC.

Good Sunday Afternoon Oldsmofriends

Was fairly chilly this mawnin with the wind blowin and such But now the wind has subsided and it's just a chilly day for this neck of the woods.

Sadly there was a fire in my neighborhood last night that claimed a mans life Never a good time of the year for this to happen bu right here at Christmas makes it even worse The house was gutted pretty bad.

Mike supposedly I may hear back from the job lead tomorrow

Have a great day all

Hi everyone, happy Sunday. It's Friday for me.

Cool day out, but nice. The sun was out and it was windy. Gonna be cold tonight at work.

Hope it's good news tomorrow Scot. How's things with the Post Office coming along? Too bad about your neighbor. What was the cause of the fire?

Sandy is that where you run a wire from the battery to the body of the vehicle, in hopes that the electricity will keep the metal from rusting? Hm, go ahead and try it(zap).

I don't know, Paul, at one time my car got the highest mileage of any car at that particular Fiat place. The next time I go someplace far I'll keep it at 65 and see if that brings it back up. Heck if that's all it is..... then I might as well buy a sports car.

Wasn't there a 40s Chrysler called the Thunderbolt? Skirted fenders and retractable hardtop.

Sandy how goes it today?

Okay out with the dogs then off to work. Supposed to be nice this week and warm up a little, maybe I can get some things done I didn't do last week because I wussed out.

Have a good night everyone and hope your week starts out good.

Yep, here it is.

Evening All!

It was cold and snowy and gray here again today. No new accumulation so that's good.

I started the day off by screaming at Larry and Nicole. Larry was in his usual grumpy Sunday mood of course. Started out at breakfast with him telling me I need to think about myself when I mentioned that I'd like to get over to the cemetery before Christmas. Snowballed from there. I told Nicole I wanted to be at the hair place at 10 when Katy got there. Well at 10:20 she's still in her room. I was sitting on the couch and Larry said 'Isn't she taking you?' I said yep. He said 'nevermind, I'll take you'. And he went out and started the truck. I told him not to. So I went in and told Nicole, and she said something, and I just lost it and started screaming that I didn't even want to go anymore, my hair is gonna fall out anyhow so why waste the money, I hate to be dependent on other people and ask anyone for anything, and on and on I went. Larry starts in on how "it's been all about her since she moved back, if she was to meet a friend at 10:00 she'd have damned sure been ready", and he's tired of her and he's not doing anything more for her and then he slammed out to go to Jr's for the little princess' birthday. Nicole apologized to me for not being ready at the dot of 10, and she talked me in to going to the hair place. So Larry will be waiting until I'm not around to chew her a new ***. Just what I need.

To me, it was no big deal that I wasn't there at 10. Chances are if I was driving myself, I wouldn't have been either. But to Larry, it was a scheduled appointment. The man has no patience with anyone or anything. The few things I've asked him to do for me this week, I can tell, just make him crazy! God forbid anyone interrupt his routine. I should have just kept my mouth shut and all the frustration inside like I usually do.

So I went and had my hair colored and had Katy cut it shoulder length. It hasn't been that short since like 8th grade or somethin. It sure feels strange. I've just been kinda depressed today. Nicole is at Tony's or somewhere, she's making herself scarce.... that's sad.

No talking since I've been home. I made his almond cookies, and packed up the cookies and fudge for everyone. That's been my day. I'm tired today. Nicole doesn't work on Mondays so maybe we can watch movies or something. But she'll have to be shut up in her room when he gets home.

Well enough of my depressing attitude, lol. You all have a good evening.

Evening everyone. We had about 3 inches of snow yesterday but it's all gone already. It rained throughout the night and washed it all away. Also got rid of all the salt too so I plan on sneaking one of the old cars out for a ride tomorrow. They say it's going to snow again on Tuesday so better take advantage of it.

Feeling somewhat better again today, and thanks again for the well wishes. Hope I'll be back to normal by Christmas.

Enjoying watching my favorite team right now, the Steelers, kicking around the Bengals in the first half. Hope they can keep it up for the rest of the game. Been mostly a forgetful season and probably won't make it into the playoffs.

Sandy - keep your chin up, you have lots of friends on here that are saying prayers for you and will try to keep you smiling.

Hope you all enjoyed the weekend and have a good night.

Mornin all.

Darrell, Sure could use the rain here. We had a race yesterday and it was a complete mudfest. Here is the kids quad, the wifes and mine aren't much better.

We got home in time for the kid to go to bed. she's getting up for work at 9:30 p.m now until the first of the year. So we don't have a lot of time to make noise after work.

Sandy, Keep fighting the good fight. We're hear to listen (read)

Mike. Thats a huge drop in MPG I couldn't image thats just from running a little faster ion the highway. Is that checked thru the driver information display or you actually running the numbers? If its thru the car, I know my truck isn't very accurate, and if the computer has had any software upgrades, they could have changed some of the settings.

Scot good luck on the interview.

Jamesbo, If that Ferd is real and complete, you best collect all yer mad money and pocket change and see if he'll let ya have it. They seem to be worth a little bit more now than when they were new.

You got a Clipper coming BUT de good news is it's gonna pass thru quickly.

See there, my possitive attitude make make Chicken salad outa you know what.

Hey everyone.

Bright and sunny out but if it's going to make 54* it better hurry.

Scot hope you hear something pretty soon.

Sandy why can't Larry just be calm for a change. Merry Christmas I won't yell for a day. How's he like his new pickup?

Why in the world would anyone wear heals when they know they'll be traipsing around in a field right after it's rained?

I noticed a ding in the side of the Fiat with some paint missing. There's been a couple other dings but this is the first one that's actually chipped. People at work all drive big pickups and don't give a hoot about anyone else's car, they just open the door right into the car next to them. Can't have anything nice I guess. So here's my opportunity to buy another car. A beater that I don't care if it gets dinged up. Because I don't have any of them sitting around.

Clint I had to look twice at that picture. At first glance it looked like the 4 wheeler was partially buried. What did the driver look like?

Well I guess I'll find something to do to round out the rest of the day. Have a good evening all.

Evening All!
It was sunny and nice here today. Temps in the 20's after a start in the teens. Sun was nice.

I fixed up a few Christmas cards and got them in the mail. Nicole and I went to Target and did some shopping and had Starbucks, lol. It was fun. She took me to Giant Eagle to pick up my heart pill and get a few things, then we came home.

I made a meatloaf, scalloped potatoes and peas for supper. Larry came in not saying a word, so I didn't either. I set the table, told him supper was ready if he wanted to eat, and I sat down and ate. He didn't. I put the leftovers in the fridge - felt like tossing them in the trash. Nicole did the dishes. Not the first time he's done this, so it wasn't a total surprise. damned if I cook again, lol. I can eat cereal!

Guess I'll be driving myself to see Dr. Smith tomorrow morning. Larry can kiss my ***!!!!!!! I'd rather be by myself again going through all this, then with someone who has to act like a child, who is jealous of my daughter, who can't just bite his tongue and keep his snide hurtful comments to himself. All I see happening this time around is more added stress on me that I don't need or want. He has no patience, he has no understanding, he won't even try to understand the emotions involved in something like this. Now if it were happening to him or one of his kids, he'd be reading and researching and whatever. I'm just sick of it. I just hope it's Gods plan that I live until Nicole can get out of this house and be able to make a life for herself cause Larry will toss her out soon as I'm buried, no doubt. Sad that I have to think like that, but I do.

Mike.... he hasn't got his truck yet. I think it's on it's way though.

Jamesbo... you make me laugh! Thanks for watching our weather, lol. We're supposed to get 2-4" of snow tonight. I'll drive slow to Kent tomorrow.

The stitches are starting to itch, bruises are fading some now. Throat still hurts. I'm gonna be asking him about that. Maybe I should go see Dr. Bressi, I don't know.

I called Steve this morning and told him I'd be back on Thursday. He did have the decency to ask how I was doing.

Well that's my rant for today, thanks for listening. Where has John been? You all have a good night.

Evening everyone. Sunny here today, about 28 chilly degrees though. Gettin' more white stuff tomorrow, about 2" to 4". Would be nice if it hung around till Christmas but I don't think it will happen.

Got in trouble with the wife tonight, she saw my email page where I was contacted by someone I know and they want to sell me their car. I threw him a ridiculous counteroffer and she wanted to know if I was crazy. Naaaah! Not me.

Clint - great picture, looks like someone had some fun!

Scot - hope you heard back from the job lead you're working on. Hang in there, something will turn up soon.

Keep feeling better Sandy.

Well have a great night Oldsmofriends!

Everybody must be waiting for me to post, since I haven't been around for a few days. Thanks for da' delicious worm .

'Twas right at freezing (32* F, for those who normally think of it as "0" ) Spose to be a general warming trend into the week, with mid-70s back during the day on Thurs & Fri. One last nippy night tonight. At least no wet stuff in the forecast for a few days. Washed the Camry last night and it must've lost 5 lbs. of dirt; man, it needed it. The better half's Fusion needed it worse, but I was in a selfish mood. . I swear, she HAS to go looking for mud puddles. It looks like Clint's Quad. What's it with these women?

Gee, I leave 3 days and that's what happens in Twinsburg? . So sorry for all the friction and frustration, Sandy. I wish things could be better for you at home, at least while you're going through this process. We're at least here to sympathize a little bit -- even if it's slightly delayed and a bit distant. . Sounds like there's a lot goin' on w/ Larry ... My condolences.
As for N, some folks are just chronically late... my Mom was one of those people. Any time at all you planned something with her, the only sure thing was that she was NOT going to be ready when she said she was. I never could really embrace that (as they say these days); but I more or less accepted it once she got up into the years. It's almost like she really had no control, although I know that doesn't make a lot of sense.

You certainly have the right attitude with really taking care of yourself and looking your best during this ordeal. I think that will make a helluva difference in your overall attitude getting thru it.

Mike, that's one of the truly liberating things about driving the Camry. I try to keep it decent, but another ding isn't the end of the world. I'm lucky enough to have a covered garage to park in at work, but every space is taken. If I drove the Vette here, I'd be constantly worried about the dope parked next to me. But with the Camry, I can cram into the tightest spot and walk to the building with a spring in my step. .
BTW, have you ever posted a picture of that Fiat here? I can't visualize it.

Whelpt, this is my last scheduled 3-day week. I'm having lunch with a couple friends tomorrow, then Thursday is the company Christmas lunch, which is always a pretty dull affair, and nobody would go unless by coersion. But since it will be my last day here until 1/7, I think I can bear it! .

My middle brother gets his B.A. sheepskin from UNO this Friday, after graduating from H.S. in 1976! Gotta' give the boy a P for persistence. I thought I was late after taking about 13 years... . OK, I guess I was; but comparatively, I was Johnny on the spot. On Friday evening, we'll be going to his little graduation wing-ding at his house. Should be nice.

Y'all have a swell Tuesday, Oldsmofriends.

Mornin all.

John, Hope to hear more about breakfast.

Darrell, You know what they say about permission and forgiveness.

Sandy we're having 60's and sunshine. Should be heading your way. Hopefully that will brighten things up for you a little.

Allan, Mike. Tori was a muddy mess as we all were. She used up all her tear-offs the first lap so she tossed her goggles and went without the rest of the race. Her eyes still hurt. these races aren't much fun when you know how long its gonna take to clean everything up. I'm gonna bring home the Hotsy and see if that'll help I don't think my little pressure washer will make a dent.

Jamesbo, sounds like a neat car. Almost makes you sound like a peeping tom tho.

Have a Tuesday everyone!

Good morning everyone.

Rather brisk out this morning. The dogs are out rolling around in the frosted grass. Hm that sounds like something they'd say in Japan.

Jamesbo I have that very meatloaf in my fridge. I love meatloaf and my Mom always makes it for me, and makes a lot for me to bring home. Meatloaf sandwich? That's Ambrosia.

Hm the return button isn't working on my keyboard this morning. I hope it's the site and not this high dollar fancy equipment I'm using.
John glad to see you're still kickin'.
Allan that would be a good response but we don't have assigned parking. When I was but a wee one, Great America(in Gurnee, IL) just opened and the family drove up to check it out for the day. When we parked I opened the back door and hit the car next to me. I was 8, I wasn't careful. Well, the car was full of a bunch of fat old men and the driver started carrying on like I had just marred the crown jewels. He pointed to a big crusty rust spot probably a foot from where my door had hit and insisted that's what I had done. I don't remember what my Dad said to him but from that time forward I have always been careful about opening car doors.

Clint you guys need to figure out a washing system you can attach to your helmets that just sprays down on your facemask.

Okay Awful house awaits. Then if I'm man enough(because it's damn cold out) I'll hit the junkyard. Have a good one all.

Jamesbo, I'm up at 4:00 sharp on school days, and here in NOLA for 6. I was tucked in bed and sleepin' at dern near 8:30 last night, but my stinkin' watch alarm sounded off at midnight; 'twas 'bout the only interruption of my almost-8 hours -- so no, no insomnia for this half-Cajun. In fact, I feel great this mornin'. The Saints sucked worse than ever against the lame-O (usually) Rams. But other than that, had a great 3-day weekend. A couple H.S. friends came over to watch the game, and an hour or so before, we went over to the neighborhood park and threw the football around. Love doin' it, but still feelin' a bit sore in da' arm... but it was great. Only fell (in da' wet grass) once, and no ambulances were required.

As for H-5-0, my closed mind refuses to give it a chance. I'm a big fan of the original (now dearly departed) Steve, and would rather remember the show the way it was from '68 to '80. I gotta' say, tho', that by the time '80 came around, Steve himself (if you don't count the Governor) was the only one left of the original cast. (So no "Book 'em, Danno" in the last season.)

It could be worse, you could have the habitually mediocre Lions lose on a long field goal on MNF, and continue to do what they best for the last 50 years....nothing!

Good morning! - 7:30pm here...

Just got married this morning after living together and proposing once in a while for exactly 9 years today.

After buying a '70 Cutlass about four weeks ago the lady apparently changed her mind quite fast and so we're finally a family now with out 15mo old girl.

OK, it could also have been quite substantial that she had her head in the washing machine during one proposal, changed diapers at another occation, but I'm confident the Olds did the trick finally.

Evening All!

It was cloudy today, a little warmer though. Guess we have rain coming in on Thursday and for the weekend and temps will be in the 50's. Until it freezes at night and we have ice... Weather guy said we could get 3" of rain. What a mess that will be.

I drove myself to Dr. Smiths this morning. He said there was microscopic pieces of cancer in the first node, nothing else new. It was staged as Stage 1 or as stage A2. I read about the different stages and it's confusing... Everything is healing nicely and he took the tape off that was starting to itch, lol. He said if I wanted to keep the breast I'd have to have radiation. I told him that the only thing I'm sure of right now is that I want them both taken off!!! I'm not changing my mind about that. He will do the surgery when it's time.

His office girl made me an appointment to go see my old pal Dr. Rehmus on the day after Christmas to talk about chemo. She practices over at Akron General these days so I guess that's where I'll be going for treatments. I'll talk to her about if I can have the reconstruction surgery while going through chemo or if I'll have to wait. I also have to find out from her if more scans and tests are necessary to see if it has spread. Such fun things to look forward to!

So I went up to Lins after seeing Dr. Smith and visited with her awhile. I didn't stay real long. Came home and ran the sweeper, then went down to Sears Optical and got the new lenses put in these glasses. I'm about tired of these new glasses already. She had new lenses made from a different material because at night, tail lights, signs, building lights, etc... look all out of focus. She thinks it was the material the lenses were made from. So if these ones don't work out, I have to have another eye exam and start over. I remember why I put off having eye exams. My glasses are never right when I get them and I always have to go back several times.

Guess who I got a call from today????? Laura, Blues wife!! I was so surprised! Evidently Blue has been lurking around here and read something about me having cancer and was worried about me. It was so nice to talk to her. I miss them. We talked a long time. I told her to tell Blue to get back on here and make me laugh, cause I need that!! So I hope he does.

John.... thanks, and nice to hear from you again. Hope all is well with your aunt.

Clint.... thanks, I hope we get some sunshine.

Jamesbo... I have your meatloaf recipie. I had leftovers for supper. Was eating them when Larry came home 6:30 ish. He made a box of mac n cheese for himself for supper. I think he got his new truck today, I couldn't tell in the dark.

Well I guess I'll get off of here, you all have a good night.

Evening everyone. It snowed today and eventually turned over to rain in the afternoon, with one minor problem, it was only 30 degrees. The roads turned into a skating rink and our major highway near my home closed down. Afraid to imagine how long it took people to get home tonight.

Quiet day, did get some Christmas shopping done but still not finished.

I watched the Lions/Ravens last night. Got to tip my hat to Tucker for kicking all those field goals, especially the 61 yarder with time running out. Between Stafford's bad throws and Megatron dropping practically every ball that came his way, it doomed them. Never going to make the playoffs playing like that.

Allan - I did not purchase anything at this point. I really don't have play money to buy anything right now, actually just trying to hold onto what I have.
My friend has too many toys and was looking to sell one. It has always been garaged, but he just bought another old ride and this one got kicked out of the garage a couple of months ago. He is selling his 82 Riviera, straight, rust free and low miles. He knows I like these cars and called me about it, but I told him that money was tight and even if I wanted it, it would have to be for a lot less than he wanted. He said he would think about my low offer....which means if he says yes, I will have to do what Clint said about asking for forgiveness.

NOP - sounds like congratulations are in order. Glad to hear the Olds sealed the deal!

Well have a good night Oldsmofriends.

Mornin all.

Darrell, Uh oh. Thats how I ended up with Brit. I low balled the guy and he didn't even blink.

Sandy glad to hear things are progressing.

Mike, How was the junkyard? I'm thinking I need to go out and do some rummaging. Anymore I just show up and the parts I've ordered are already pulled and ready to go.

Jamesbo, That would be the ticket, but no. this all has to be done my hand. Coby (the kid who works for me) and his buddy spent $40 at the carwash and still didnt get theirs clean.

Well, looks like small chance of snow after today till Sunday. I need to get started on my x-mas shopping this weekend.

Have a great humpday all.

Good Hump'in Day Mawnin All

Likewise on the clear and cool here, some weak cold front is supposed to move thru today so it won't wram up like yesterday.

So it looks like one of the Megaball winners bought the ticket in Butthead at the Lennox Square Mall, twasn't you were it Jamesbo? I know how much you adore that mall

Trivia question this morning at the local radio show was and I bet Jamesbo can answer it *hint* *hint*
"In 1834 in Oxford, GA; Georgia Methodists established the Georgia Methodist Conference Manual Labor School. What is it today?"

Still no word about nothing So I am still searching and searching and searching.....

Mornin' everybody.

Nice sunny morning, and not dreadfully cold.

Gonna skip the Awful house today. Got up late, and a big bowl of Lucky Charms was calling my name. I don't have any errands to run so no need to get out.

Clint the junkyard was a bust. Still no parts for the blue van. I did get a few ideas, though.

Jamesbo you may be right. Our time together might not have been as enjoyable if the other Larry showed up.

Darrell that sort of happened in Atlanta a few years ago. We got a bunch of snow, then it melted and at night turned to ice. The whole place was shut down for a week.

Nop welcome and congratulations, both on the marriage and the Oldsmobile.

So, Blue has an alter-ego here on the site. Clever boy. Can lurk without being seen.

Gonna have a burn pile today. Got lots of stuff piled up and my neighbor wants me to burn a bunch of leaves he had picked up.

Enjoy hump day everyone.

Happity Humpity

Hey, Oldsmogang. Stayed home today for various & sundry reasons.... nuttin' critical wrong; just outta' sorts.
33* in da' Swamp.... somewhere in da' 40s in NOLA (but I can't say firsthand).

Aunt Connie is about the same, Sandy. Thanks fer 'axeing'. She's managed to stay out of the hospital for almost 2 weeks now.... and was in fairly good spirits yesterday. (For the shape she's in, for her to have any spirits at all is a minor miracle.)

One of her sisters (another aunt of mine) had an old family friend priest give her the Sacrament of the Sick Monday evening. I think they both really enjoyed the ritual. Fr. Francis was a friend of her mother (my grandmother), although he's "only" 77 y.o. (Granny passed in '76.)

Y'all have a great Humpity....

My ring [wherever the heck it is] says, 1836 and 1914

Cause when de Candlers [a la Coca Cola] developed Druid Hills, de thunk de needed a hospital and a college there so the kinda sorta moved the "main Campus"

De old Campus is now the junior college or Emory @ Oxford [a la The Dukes of Hazzard]
http://www.thedukesofhazzard.nl/geor...d-college.html

De standard joke is de took down the cross in front of Glenn Memorial UMC church and put up a Coca Cola Bottle. Cause of de hundreds of millions of $$$ dat have come from de Candlers and de [Big Cigar] Robert W. Woodruff.

Sum dude in Butthead winning is like tak'in coa to New Castle

Y.W., and I agree, Scot -- and so do about 20 of the Youtube commenters....
But it's so nice to see a genuine, "G" rated, family-oriented clip made in 2013 and the USA that I'd be happy even if he put the tree in the passenger compartment. . And to use the Olds is really "lagniappe," as we say down here in da swamp.

I could almost smell the tree after he cut it....

Evening All!

Cloudy here today, had a little sun peeking out every once in a while, temps in the 20's.

Didn't do much today. Watched some country videos this morning, and when Nicole got up and showered, we went to Cracker Barrel and had brunch. They have the best pancakes. Came back home and Matt came over and we watched a movie. Grumpy *** got home at 4:30 today, so we stopped the movie. Nicole and Matt left about 20 min. ago. Still no talking amongst us. Damned if I'll give in this time.....

Going back to work tomorrow. Not thrilled, but at least it's somewhere different to sit all day. I'm sure they have enjoyed having the heat cranked up in there. I've enjoyed being able to wear my Christmas sweatshirts and sweaters while I've been home. Can't wear them to work, for sure. So back to short sleeves tomorrow.

So a lady in Gawja was one of the Mega winners, huh?? God I can't imagine that much money. I sure would have liked to just have a little piece of it, lol. I went down last night and got $20 worth of tickets. Oh well.

Well have a good evening all.
