Afternoon All!

Gray and cloudy here today. A little rain on and off, muggy, temps around 70.

It was partly sunny yesterday and warm. I went out and took Teepo pics. Hope I got at least one that BigJerr likes, lol!! I was out for over 3 hrs. idling her here and there. There was a show over in Brimfield that I missed. Someone said that Pops rescheduled his show in Hartville to yesterday too, since it rained last Saturday, but I didn't know for sure. Anyhow, I got the pics done. I don't think I'll have a chance to take anymore, with having to take her to the upholstery guy next weekend and then off to Hotlanta. Maybe the weather will hold out, but it's doubtful. I can't believe it's been this nice so far in October! I did see some overnight temps next week in the 30's and 20's..... The leaves are starting to fall pretty good now. Not quite all of them are turned yet.

So I've been taking that cone collar off the Dude and letting him go outside to go potty a few times a day. I walk with him. He won't go with it on, though - he can't sniff and do what cat's do, with it on, lol. Today we walked around over an hour and he never did go. He scratched the one place by his stitches and has it open alittle. I put peroxide on a cotton ball and swabbed it good. Sure hope it doesn't get infected. What a pain this whole thing is! I don't know if she'll take the stitches out next week or what.

When I was outside with him yesterday, Larry was in here watching the Walking Dead!! The marathon is still on, as the season 4 premiere is tonight!!!!! So he DOES like it!!! We got Nicole's DVD's out and he watched season 2 last night. We're watching season 3 right now so he can catch up for when the new ones start. Plus he'll have a sense of what the tour is about when we go on it. We KNEW he'd like it once he started watching it, lol. But I"m sure he still won't admit it.....

We lost power this morning for over an hour. Don't know what happened. So we went to Cracker Barrel and had breakfast. It was on when we got home. I ran the sweeper and puttered around the house this afternoon. Did laundry. Made some cinnamon struesel muffins. Nothing very exciting.

Adrian.... we're heading to Hotlanta on the 25th, so no, not yet. I am looking forward to it!!! Glad you're back on here some. How's Tink doing? Is it almost time??

Clay is going to be off next week.... I hate it when he's gone. I have to take Larry for his colonoscopy next Friday, so I'll be going into work late that day. Nicole has an ear infection or something. She said she hasn't been able to hear out of it in over a week, and it's numb, and so is the side of her face. Today the side of her face is kind of swelled up. She's gonna call her doctor tomorrow. I hope she doesn't have to go to an ear, nose and throat specialist. I don't know what her insurance pays. She's on Larry's insurance and it ain't great.

Well I'm gonna go wash my hair, so you all have a good evening!!

 

Evening everyone. Hope you all enjoyed the weekend. Another nice one here, about 70 and Sunny. So busy doing stuff around here, I never got a chance to drive the Olds. Man, I need to redo my priorities to play first and work later, cause if I get all my work done, there's no time left over for fun stuff like that.

Sandy- I've been watching the Walking Dead marathon too. I recorded several of the episodes, still have a few more to go through.

Nothing good at the junkyard yesterday. Didn't even get any new ideas.

Yesterday I let the dogs out and of course they went to chase the ground squirrels. My girl jumped over a piece of lumber that was laying around and of course found the only nail. Got a pretty bad gouge in her leg. Of course being Sunday the vet was closed. It didn't bleed too badly so I just made sure it was cleaned out and we're going to the vet first thing this morning.

It's car washing day. I need to clean up the convertible for Summit tonight. I actually took that car to work the other night. It rides very nice on the highway.

Sunny and cool here this morning. Brian is back.... Clay is out.

Mike... hope your girl will be ok!

The Dude had that stupid collar off again this morning, the one place by the stitches is seeping. I put peroxide on it again. He crapped on the rug out there.... instead of using the box of dirt!!! What a pain in the a$$ this is, lol! I didn't have time to take him out and let him roam the yard this morning. All this trying to get him well and spending money, and he's just gonna go out and do it again cause that's what outside cats do, lol. They fight! Oh well....

Nicole has a dr. appt. on Wednesday morning for her ear. Then she has to take the Intrigue to Don's for an oil change. It's not due mileage wise, but the change oil light came on, and the way she drives the car, I figure it's best to get it changed now. I do have 3 free oil change coupons to use up.... Wish he had better hours so I could take Teepo over there instead of paying Defer to change her oil.

We have 2 more disks of Season 3 of the Walking Dead to watch before we can watch the opener of the new season from last night. Nicole watched it.....

Well everything was good at the vet. All three of us went because my boy would have had a fit being left home by himself. A couple of stitches and an ace bandage later and we were off to the Awful house. They didn't get to come in but they did get some sausage.

Was cloudy this morning but now the sun is trying to peek out. Plenty to do today.

Sandy the big thing at work is watching Dexter on DVD during break. I wasn't a fan when it started but now am in to it. Of course I don't have Showtime so I can't see the current ones, I think were are on Season 3 right now. It's an odd show but somewhat humorous.

Okay gotta get to work.

I started watching Dexter but got tired of it half way through the 4th season I think it was. Would beat normal tv that's for sure though.

A bit chilly this morning here as well. Not quite 37, though. Maybe it's 37 in Australia.

Plenty o'errands to run this morning. I dropped a tire off at the shop last night and they're going to fix a leak. Gotta drop some bills at the post office, go pick up my new 36-extra dollar a month cable box, all before the Awful house. Then it's home to start a fire. Looks like rain here but the weather channel says no.

Mornin', Oldsmobuds. Sounds like just about everybody here has some interesting tales of woe, so maybe I'll try to refrain... don't know if the board could stand one more tale....

I'll suffice it to say I'm going to see Aunt Connie in the Kenner nursing home today. (OK... I can't resist --> she fell out of her chair Sunday night after dinner and cut her hand. But she's OK....) I'll pick up my other aunt (her sister) in Metairie on the way over.

Had been plannin' a trip to N. Mich later this year to see my buddy with all the antique cars up on Torch Lake; but I just informed him I wouldn't be going. For starters, airfare for the rest of the year is about $600 and up; that's just too much. And secondly, if they ever call us back to work, I think they're going to want to squeeze all the hours I've missed into the rest of the year, and I'll prolly have a real busy week or two at some to-be-determined time. So I'm bowing out.

Instead, however, we're planning to take some of his cars up to St. Ignace next June for the car show. I'll be totally done at work and will really be able to enjoy it... and not have the threat of the white stuff, as I would in the next couple months.

Anyhoots, let me get rollin'.... Next week'll be here before we know it!

 

Morning All!

Cloudy and dark here, temps at 49. Supposed to get to around 71 today, then colder as the week goes on. They said this is probably the last 70's we will see for awhile. I'm not ready for this! They're showing a lot of rain in the extended forecasts, so I have to watch for a break to get Teepo to the interior guy. Guess the Rockwell show was my last one.

So I went to 27 shows this season, got 17 awards.

This winter when I'm sitting around wishing it was summer, I'll post show pics and get depressed, lol.

Well Nicole let the Dude out yesterday and walked the yard with him. He took off and got under Mr. Steve's (our neighbor) trailer. She had a helluva time getting him back out. He bit her arm and scratched the heck out of her. She was mad when she called me!!! Oh the profanity that came out of her sweet little mouth, lol! She said she went in the house and got a towel and threw it over him and carried him back into the breezeway. I let him out some last evening, but he didn't go potty. He had the collar off again this morning, and he's torn the heck out of the wall by the door. I told Nicole to ask doc today, what to do with him, cause he just can't stay in the breezeway much longer. Can't keep an outside cat inside! Just not in their nature.

Clint... sorry to hear you have another sick chick... how's your *** doing?

Jamesbo... is it ususally warm in Hotlanta this time of year? I'm trying to figure out what to be wearing! I know it's too cold for tank top, shorts and sandals, which is my all time favorite thing to wear, lol. I hate clothes......

So quiet in here. I hate it when Clay is gone. It gets like a friggin library in here. No one talks! I don't have my fan on yet so I don't even have the noise from it to make it better in here. Steve turned on his heater about a half hour ago, so my fan will be going on shortly, I'm sure. I have to have the radio waaay down so it doesn't bother **** Brian. I don't know how he ever worked in an atmosphere before, where there was a shop, towmotors, saws, cranes, and people talking!!!!!!! I sat out at Clay's desk for a while. The only time there's any talking in here is when Brian is on the phone......

So we're trying to get a new roof on the house. Mr. Steve got one last month - for free! He gave us his guy's name and told us how it works. The guy goes through the insurance company - says it's 'wind damage' from that real windy storm we had in July. We do have missing shingles on the north side of the roof, so that should help us some. The insurance co. doesn't raise the rates, either. So an adjuster is coming out this morning with the guy that contracts the job, and we'll see what they say. Larry stayed home this morning. Gonna try to get gutters too. Might as well! They had Mr. Steve's roof off and on in 2 days, and he has a good sized house. The guy has about 7 amish men who do it. Those boys sure do work!! Can't hurt to try. We do need a new roof, and we've never had a claim against our insurance.

Well I guess I better go check Clay's emails, so you all have a good day!!

Seriously, Ya know ya never know. I'm still wear'in shorts to play golf but I put on a wind breaker til 'bout 11:00.

Lol! You're funny Jamesbo. That's how it is here too. Cold in the morning and then warms up nicely. Except today. It's still chilly and gray out there, lol. Ok, I should be ok with capris - I can roll them up if I'm hot. And sandals. My feet don't get cold usually. But I will put jeans and tennies in my duffle bag just in case it's rainy. And I'll bring a sweat jacket. I will look up the Hotlanta forecast a few days before we leave.

Well we're getting a new roof! Larry brought the check from the insurance co. for half the amount, here to work for me to sign, before lunch. They're supposed to start Thursday morning. So I guess I'll be out in the rain tomorrow evening getting my Halloween decorations out of the yard and flowerbed by the house so they don't break anything. Larry told them that when they bring the dumpster in, to put it on the right side of the drive so they don't block the garage and Teepo!!! I'd hate it if I couldn't get out for Bellacino's Thursday if it's nice......

God... what a long day.

Good morning ones and all.

Sunny today, but rain is forecast for this evening. I hope they're wrong.

Had an awesome burn pile yesterday. Got rid of a bunch of old wood and some branches, and got some trimming done and that gone.

I'm late getting going this morning. I guess the dogs weren't in a hurry to get up. My girl slept on the bench in my bedroom and didn't move all night long.

I volunteered today to drive rescue dogs around for Clayton County Animal Shelter. I have plenty of my own work to do but I was feeling bad about this dog I saw at Walmart that was stray but not receptive to help. I must have given her half a bag of treats I had just gotten, but to no avail. She finally tired of me and ran into the bushes. Cute little thing, colored like a German Shepherd but looked like a Shetland(sp?) Sheep dog. The volunteers at Clayton County were very nice to me when I was looking for my dogs last January.

So it's hump day, and my last day off. Gotta move cars around on the driveway so the blue van will fit. It's been next door while the neighbors have been away. Don't know if the dog place will call so I'm just staying open.

Gray and Elsie is here this morning. Been raining since last evening. Temps in the 60's though. I heard the "S" word for late next week. Guess we won't be going to Chick Fil A tonight.

Been kind of a crazy morning here. Brian has been complaining since he walked in about how many quotes he has, how far behind he is, etc.... he's mad at one of his customers because she talks to him like he's 2 years old, lol. She's a female, very well educated, makes a lot of money in her position, and I think that's why he doesn't care for her. Can't be better than him!!! He's not used to women who speak their mind. They should all be like the little stepford wife he has, lol. Do as you're told and all that crap.... After all, he's happy his wife has never had to work outside the home.... think of all the crap that would have been put in her head by other women!! Can't have that!

Nicole went to the doctor this morning about her ear. The doc flushed it out and she can really hear good, now! She's so excited, lol. She gave her a script for an antibiotic ear drop to use at night, so I will pick it up later with my heart pill. She has to take the Intrigue to Don's at 1:30 for the oil change. I gotta get rotors on that thing before winter. I should be looking for some cheap tires too....

Nicole said the vet isn't going to take Dude's stitches out until next week. He had that collar off again this morning, he's tore the hell out of the boxes and things I have in the breezeway blocking his cat door. I can't wait until he can come and go again. We went for a walk last night. He walks beside me like a dog, lol.

Tonight I gotta move my Halloween stuff so it's not in the way of the roofers tomorrow. They're supposed to show at 7 am.

I have to go down to the bank at noon. Think I'll stop by Panera Bread and get me a bowl of their yummy Broccoli soup and a hunk of bread to go with it, lol. It's a soup kind of day. Brian brought his lunch so I want to be out of here anyhow.

Well I've been working on the blue van all afternoon. I crashed into some dumb little girl who stopped short in traffic to avoid hitting a squirrel. Seriously. I said, what were you thinking? She said, I didn't want to kill it.

She was driving an XJ Cherokee. The bumper was bent down and that's all that looked wrong but I found red paint on the front of the van. The mother drove up after a little while. The cop said to me, here fill this out, see ya.

So I got most of the front end apart and I have some of the parts I need and will clean them up tonight. Since I start back to work tomorrow it will be next week before I get to work on it again.

Man this really frosts me. After going 5 under the limit the whole way down the street then to stop for a frickin' squirrel, in a curve. I hope the squirrel appreciates it.

Evening everyone. Hope you all had a great day. I was bad today, did not go to work but instead chaparoned a field trip to take my daughter to the Bronx Zoo. Fun spending a day with her. Had not been to the zoo in a while and found it disappointing. The Polar Bear, Seal , Tiger and Bird exhibits were all closed due to cleaning, repairs, etc. The other exhibits were ok but why were 1/2 of them down at the same time? Oh well.

Also have to say, I think I'm jinxed. I have had 3 flats on different cars in the last two weeks. Can't remember the last time I had a flat before this.

Mike- sorry to hear that. Usually those little rodents get out of the way in at the last second, gotta love people like her.

Sandy - glad to hear Nicole is feeling better.

Darrell, Its been years since I've enjoyed the zoo. I do believe the last time I really enjoyed it was on a daytime date with this tiny little thing I went to high school with. That was probably 1988. She is such a sweetheart, but I'm sure she can be a PITA too.

Mike, bummer about the crash. I used to have a bumper sticker that read "I swerve for small animals... They're harder to hit" I sure wish they would let us burn here. I have a 5' tall pile of branches from that willow in the middle of the backyard that I need to chip. It would cost about $80 to take it to the dump.

Sandy, how was the soup? Thats got to be my favorite flavor.

Jamesbo, I got to meet the neighbors pack of hounds thru the fence yesterday. I heard the familiar sound "Bwraaaaooouu" of a Beagle. You didn't tell me your kid moved in next to me? I think this one is a little older. then they have some other mutts with pointed ears and white and tan. looks like an Asian dog of some sort I think.

Sunny and cool here this morning. Temps in the 40's. Rain coming in this afternoon in time to cancel Bellacino's....

Well Jedidiah and the boys showed up at the house about 7:10 and started ripping shingles off the roof! They were making a heck of a racket up there, lol. I called grumpy *** at work to tell him they were there, and he got all bent out of shape because he left a msg. for someone somewhere to call him, he wondered if they were showing up today, if they were bringing a dumpster, yadda yadda yadda.... and no one ever called him back. He's tired of incompetent people...... He really irritates me anymore with his superior attitude......

He's home now. He texted me and told me that they had all the old roofing off and were starting to put the new stuff down. He has to start his prep in a few hours for his colonoscopy tomorrow.... wonder if they'll find his heart this time?

Nicole and Matt were hanging out yesterday, and she called in the evening to ask if I minded if Matt came over for awhile. I said I don't mind. Well Larry is in the kitchen and he pipes up "I mind". So I told her don't bring him in when he drops her off. I don't know what Larry's friggin problem is. That's what Nicole said. "What did I do now"? That's sad. He was friendly as heck to her the night before. He's like Jeckel and Hyde. Of course it's getting close to my birthday, so it's time for him to start acting like an *** worse than usual. I hate my birthday, as you all know. It's never happy. Nicole wants to take me out to eat - just the two of us, before my birthday, but we can't or Larry will get mad. That's awful. Enough venting about it, I guess....

Mike.... sorry to hear about your crash. You never know what people are going to do. I'm bad sometimes about following close when the car in front of me is going slow... one of these days I'll get it, I'm sure. Do you have to go to court and all that stuff?

Darrell..... good to hear you played hookey! You have to do that once in a while. It seems like every time I go to a zoo, half the displays are closed and I never get to see any animals... I'm glad you had fun though.

Clint... the soup was delicious! They have the best broccoli soup, there. And they give you a big ole hunk of bread to go with it! I pull the bread into pieces and put them in the soup, lol. Heavenly!!! I sat in the parking lot in Tincanio and ate it so I wouldn't have to come back here and listen to Brian whine. He brought his lunch today, so I hope it's still sunny at noon so I can go out and walk.

Way muggy down here, awaiting this cold front that seems like it'll never make it down. No wet stuff, anyhow... although we could use it. They're sayin' Saturday now.

Glad your girl was OK, Mike. Sounds like a pain ... literally.... Sorry about the little bumper-bender. If it ain't one thing, it's two.

Wow, 37*? Sounds like it's gonna' be a long winter, Clint. Did you see those cattle that died in the snowstorm a week or two ago? That was downright depressing.... You can't help but thing those poor ba$terdz suffered pretty good... and just the sheer number (thousands of head). Pretty sad. Makes me want to forego the steakum.

Be careful what you wish for, Clint. Where I live the citizenry feel it's their civic duty to have big burn piles as often as humanly possible -- and they put anything at all on: bicycles, microwaves, cans, etc. And of course, moldy damp leaves, to be sure if smolders for a week. It's downright nauseating. Sometimes I go out, and it's all you can smell. I'd certainly forego my right to a burn pile if my wonderful neighbors would do the same. Should've moved to St. Tammany Parish, which has more strict laws. I'm in the wild west here in unincorporated Tangipahoa Parish.

Jamesbo, I heard there was no room at the Inn, but there was an empty manger somewhere Down Under that had your name on it....
In any case, hope you get the choppers all set for Mary Mac's... from what you said, you're gonna' get some use out of 'em.
Don't know about the fiddlers' convention. Would that be at the Fairgrounds? Haven't been payin' too much attention to the happenin's there, since I haven't been there since 4th of July week.

Howdy everyone.

Time once again for work. I'm all ready to go and will be out the door in just a few.

Good day for sleeping. It's been overcast all day with a spot of rain here and there. I think the rain is done now but things are nice and muddy. And humid.

Got most of the bad parts off the blue van yesterday. I went from, I'm going to fix the quarter panel as well as get the bumper filler painted, to should get a couple other spots fixed, to might as well paint the whole van, to I'm going to get a rattle can and paint the filler myself.

One more week and it's Fox time. Sandy we'll make sure you have a good birthday this year. If Larry persists then we'll feed him to the zombies.

My job has become very involved, so much so that I hired someone today to help me out. Hopefully it will really improve the business numbers I am generating.

Afternoon All!

Sunny and cool here today. Pretty breezy too. Temps at 60. No Bellacinos last night cause of the rain.

I got in to work at 12:35. Larry had his procedure and we got out of there going on 11:00. Went and had breakfast and headed home. They didn't find his heart, lol.

The new roof looks very nice. They only broke 2 of Larry's solar lights,one of my Halloween signs, and 3 of my dusty miller plants from throwing shingles off the roof. We didn't have any satellite last night either cause something came unhooked when they leaned the dish over the side of the house to do the roof. It was fixed today. Larry couldn't watch his Fox news!!! I told him he was like a teenager with no Internet, lol! . Larry is going to get prices on new gutters too, so we can get them replaced.

When they were dropping the bundles of new shingles up on the roof, the vibration or whatever caused all 3 light bulbs in the ceiling fan over the table to blow out. Also blew 3 of the 4 long flourescent bulbs in the kitchen light!! Teepo is covered with stuff that came down out of the attic too. Like little bits of insulation and such. No, I didn't have her covered. She is not happy!

I'm hoping to take her to Curlys on Sunday... if the rain holds off. Less rain chances on Sunday then tomorrow. I have to call him tomorrow and see if that will work.

Clint.... keep that white stuff out there please! We're supposed to have some towards the end of next week. No accumulation though. I did turn the furnace on this week. Its in the 40's at night and pretty chilly when we get up. At least I know it works lol. I was afraid it wouldn't work after all the episodes we had with it last year after hooking up to the natural gas. That new motherboard Larry put in last year is doing its thing!!

It's Friday for me tomorrow. Not bad at work last night, we had a lead that doesn't know what the hell he's doing, so that always makes things interesting. Our plane's ready time was 7am, and its flight was 730. Imagine, Supertug has to pick it up, get it to the gate, it has to be catered, recleaned, inspected, boarded and pushed out in 30 minutes. He has no clue.

Clint there's no body work going on. It's just take parts off, put new parts on. If there were bent metal I'd have to take it somewhere. Especially a G20 van, everything is welded. No fenders to unbolt it's all one big piece.

Jamesbo that's very interesting about male and female ram rods. How did there come to be modern ram rods if the antique ones were all male?

Darrell glad things are moving along. Always a sign of success when you need employees.

Dis guy decided to invent a modern universal fiberglass ramrod [dat won't scratch de barel inners] and he said to himself, "Self, If I'm gonna go to de trouble of makeing the "perfect ramrod", why not make it so nutting [that the US government and every other firearms maker] will fit. Den, I can sell all the parts dat go on my "new" ramrod [like ball pullers, brushes, patch holders etc.etc.] and I can make a $hitpot more money on de parts dat go on my 'New Deluxe Fiberglass ramrod"

Tell me why you need to get a new roof all the time up there Sandy. Over here you can buy a house that was built in the 70's and it will still have the original roof on it but every time I look at houses over there they always make a big deal about the roof just being replaced????

Almost finished with the server cast John, The servers are up and running fine but still a little loud for my liking so I will be modifying the case some after this post

Hey all, Happy Friday. Thanks for all the responses about my job. To clarify, it is not generating that much $$$ yet, but I'm sure you all know that the beginning is usually much more work than reward. I hired one person to help me get this moving along a little faster. May hire another but time will tell. I signed contracts to promote two lines of products and the workload is definitely daunting.

Going to bed now, enjoy the rest of the night.

Cloudy and 51 degrees here now. Rain headed our way. Should start in a few hours.

Jamesbo..... why you up so early?? I slept in this morning till almost 9.

They came and got that dumpster out of the drive sometime this morning. They folded Tincanios mirror back out of the way. I parked real close to it last night cause I didn't know they were coming today. I don't know how they got around..... I had the Dude out earlier walking around and saw several limbs on my Hydrangea bush are broken too. I even opened the window the other morning and asked Jedidiah if it was going to be ok, because the tarp they had over half of it was pulled real tight with old shingles they were tossing down. He said it would be ok. He lied!!! Nothing I can do about it now I guess.

I called Jay to see if he talked to Curly about me bringin Teepo over and he said he would call him , he tbought Curly was going out of town next Wednesday. So he's supposed to call me back later. Hes in some kind of class today. Maybe I should wait till spring. It looks like the rains are gonna settle in soon...

Well I better get some cleaning done around here. Gotta change bed sheets and all that fun stuff. Have a great day all!

Happy Saturday. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Sandy nothing spruces a house up like a new roof. The gutters will finish it off. I couldn't believe how much different my house looked when I got a new roof. Of course I went from a green roof to a black one, so who knows.

Cloudy all day today. Slept a good 6 hours before the dogs came to get me, then let them out and got another 2 of catnapping. I told the dogs, see, that wasn't such a big deal. We should do this every day.

Okay Adrian, prang is one I haven't heard yet. My friends when they came to my house for the first time, said oh you have a bongo!

Not sure the weather is going to be kind for my weekend, so I've got a few inside projects to take care off. Like painting the bathroom ceiling, and continuing putting metal walls up in the dogs' room.

Well time is upon me, gonna get some lottery tickets on the way in. Hope I do better than last night. I spent all night trying to replace a simple cable for the lav drain, didn't get anywhere and still went up and down the stairs about a hundred times. Oh well. After tonight I'm off. Have a good night everyone.

 

Morning all, slept real bad last night, think it is time for a new bed

I remember when I was a kid we had a bongo van, had 2 front seats and nothing in the back so we all just sat on the floor when we went somewhere. I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers and mum, dad left when I was young, you get that. You can't do that anymore as you need to be in a proper seat with seat belts yada yada yada, government take all the fun out of everything with there laws

Hope your plants recover ok from the careless roof guys Sandy, I would have tried and gotten a discount from all the stuff they broke

Hang in there Darrell, you are sure to have your job generating some money decent before you know it.

Here is a pic of my servers, they are running full time now which is nice. One is a gateway and the other is a file server for my hdd's. Now my home network is almost complete, still need to get an array for more hdd's but that can wait for now.
