Morning all.

Jamesbo, The forum I mod over have Teenagers as well as some of us age ed. Talk about bickering. 'So and So called me %&#(@*$$% stupid), Did you? "Yea, But he is".... I thought I was just gonna delete the spam threads.

Rained hard most of the day yesterday. Been a long time since we've been this saturated. The creek was running real high yesterday and just mud red from the runoff.

Gonna shut the shop down early today. Got to get loaded and head down to canon city (about 3 hours away) and see what this hill climb race is all about.
At least it wont be dusty. Kinda nervous about some of these high speed straights. I wonder if I can break 75 MPH at the finish line trap?

Have a great weekend all.

Good Friday Mawnin All

Gonna be a nice day with temps around 85* but 60% chance of rain tomorrow.

Jamesbo the pool is ready but the water temp is too cold fer me Give it about a month and it'll be ready The kids don't mind but I probably won't let them get in until next weekend I guess it depends on what the high chief says

I remember swimmin at many blue holes and springs as a tike, where the H2O temp hovered around 37* year round and it didn't bother us back then. Wouldn't do it now though

Morning All!

Happy Friday! It's sunny right now, storms coming through later. We had rain over night and early morning, but it's the dry in between right now, lol. They say the storms are going to be viscious! Heading towards 70's today.

Jamesbo.... don't start countin yet, lol. Cruise in's have no awards - just 50/50 raffles. So ya can't count cruise in's!! I did win a free oil change at Don Sitts last night as a door prize. My friend Ron with the gold Cutlass S won the 50/50! He got $120.00.

It was busy at Bellacino's last night. I found a place to park in the back. I'll be puttin my pics on in a while. It was a nice night to be out.

Steve is off today. Brian is whining to everyone about how he was here till 8 pm last night, and he has this problem customer, and he's sooooo far behind in his quotes. Well.... since he got here at 8:05 this morning, he's been bullshitting and complaining on the phone to everyone! Talk about your lack of time management skills...... shut up and do your job and you won't have to complain! But that's how he likes it. He likes to have everyone say 'awwwwww you poor thing'. I won't say it!! It's hotter than hades in here. I have the fan on. 77 friggin degrees already. Just so dry and stuffy......

I gotta clean Teepo good this weekend. No shows going on anywhere. She has soooo much friggin pollen under the hood - it's in all the nooks and crannies. The more you try to wipe that crap, the worse it spreads around, I swear!!

Jamesbo.... My green bean plants are up so tall in the seed pod thingys already! I sure would like to get them in the ground but it will have to wait until next week since it's gonna be frosty maybe Sat. and Sun. nights. My pepper seeds haven't sprouted any yet.

Well you all have a great Friday!!

Love dem Jawja & Nawth Kare-linuh waterfalls...

Big, fat cow having her way with huge, flat rock dis mawnin'. Reports of quarter-sized hail near Baton Rouge.
Warm and wet at the Planation. Was about 70 at 4:30 . Supposedly this is part of a cool front that will drop the temps & humidition by Sunday nite when it finally rolls in for real.

It looks pretty bad for cruisin' and showin' tomorrow. I'll likely do my indoor contingency activities while "bachin' it" this weekend. Might try and head south from work a little early today, since I'll have a few extra hours this half-month. We'll see what the boss's thoughts on that idea are.

Well, y'all have a great one; enjoy today while it's dry, you GA guys.

Well.... I can't put my pics on Photobucket until I talk to Nicole. It says 'album size limit exceeded'. So I don't know what I need to do to get more room! Darn it......

Well the storm has arrived with a vengence! Thunder and lightening, wind is blowin.... it's not pretty, lol. Still in the low 70's right now, but will be dropping.

Nicole is going to Twinsburg's prom with a younger kid she went to school with, tonight. Not a very good evening for prom, lol. Guess she has to be at his house at 5:00 for the limo to pick them up..... He asked her to go with him, I told her she should! Hope they have a good time and the electricity stays on throughout the evening.

Happy Friday night everyone.

Got home from work a little early this morning, and got some pretty good sleep. Although, my neighbors are dog sitting for their son and of course they leave it outside all day long, so every time I'd get up to let my dogs out they'd run and bark.

The pollen on my cars is baked on, and it takes quite an effort to wash it off. In fact, my Suburban that has bad paint, I think I'm going to have to use Scotch Brite to clean it all off. My plan for next year, seal everything up at the beginning of pollen season and drive a beater that I don't mind getting that stuff on, and at the end of pollen season have it crushed.

John hope the Mrs. is having a good time in IL. I need to plan a trip up there and hang out. I also need to go to Kalamazoo in July but I don't think I will, maybe though.

Jamesbo how's the Jewish section coming along?

Sandy I'm jealous that you have been to so many shows already. I've been to one, the Monday cruise in and there were about 12 cars.

Time to take the dogs out and have them bark at the idiot next door. I like dogs but not that one. Then work, hope it's a good one. Have a good weekend everyone.

Mike,

De problem wit de jewish section is 2 fold, 1] Non Orthodoxs know it won't be Ok wit orthodox unless and orthodox Rabbi "blesses" it. 2] Orthodox Rabbi's [as best I can figger] don't venture outside I-285

I've wondered what would happen if I jes made a "Jewish section" by my lonesome.

Oddest thing is, we've had more Jews burried up ere in a "quote" non- jewish blessed section dan any utter denomination. De Rabbis do'in de service[s] don't seem to care???

Went to the spring dust off at the Gilmore Car Museum today...cold and dank! Good thing they have many indoor displays and hot coffee n' donuts....and brats fer lunch. I am quite sure that the weather and temps kept many folks away, we were there for 3 1/2 hours, and ran into a downpour and heavy winds on the way home. Still better than a day at work.

Wow it was a quiet day here today. Overcast here so another good sleeping day. Evidently my neighbors were out because most times I got up to let the dogs out their "guest" wasn't in the yard.

We got a huge downpour that lasted almost a half hour just a little while ago. I hope it's out of its system. We don't need that when I have to work outside. Supposed to be nice tomorrow, hope it lasts awhile.

Jamesbo and Scot, do you know of any car museums in Georgia? I've been asked to find space for something and I wouldn't mind if it were fairly close so I could keep my eye on it. Stone Mountain's has been closed for years.

Okay Day 3. Hope everyone has a good evening and has a good Mother's Day.

Good evening everyone.

The awards banquet for the bowling league was tonite. We did pretty good. We got highest team scratch game of the season and won the playoffs (by 2 pins). Best season for a team I've been on.

I visited the Gilmore museum in 2008 (I think) while I was in MI for the OCA Nats in Dearborn. I liked how they had the buildings themed to match the era of the cars.

Attachment 170358

1969, a car show is ALWAYS better than a day at work.

Enjoy Sunday and Happy Mother's day.

Happy Mother's Day Sandy And to all the Mother's out there in Oldsmobileland

Gonna be a nice day I think we got a tiny little sprinkle yesterday but not enough to wet the windshield

Mike the only museum for cars I know of in GA is the Corvette one in Boilingbrook and misc other private museums. I guess it would depend on what kind of car it is There is a muscle car museum in FL and you have the Peterson Museum in CA.

Paul that is a cool pic

Whelp, lots to do so I'll catch yall on the flip side

Happy Mothers Day everyone. Beautiful day here.

You guys might know that I'm involved with the Corvair Preservation Foundation. It's part of the big Corvair club. We have a chance to buy a rather exclusive item and I said I'd try to find a place for it.

After the last Corvair was built Fisher Body built an extra body that included everything Fisher would put on the car and ship over to Chevrolet. This body exists and is still strapped to the factory cart. It looks pretty good that we're going to end up with it. Hopefully we can find a place that we can also display a few other things that are just sitting in storage.

Last night of work. This week seemed to go fast. If the weather holds out for my days off I can finish up in my yard and maybe wash a few more cars.

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and has a good week.

better late dan neber

Happy Mothers' Day, Sandy! And to all the other families represented here on the board, as well....

Better half seems to be doin' OK in the Land o' Lincoln, Mike... thanks. Her Mom's 88 this year, and still driving; just not sure if I want to be on the road when she is , however.

The wife always suggests taking the wheel, but the M.I.L. refuses every time. Hopefully, things will be OK. I know M.I.L. does see like a hawk, thanks in part to relatively recent double cataract surgery; but dem reflexes can't be what day wuz.

As luck would have it, the rain stopped around 7:00 yesterday morning here, and hasn't rained another drop; that's 'cuz I decided not to take the Olds out; I wonder how the show was.

Jamesbo, you WOULD think that certain situations really required at least a phone conversation, wouldn't you? I just dunno 'bout dem young-un's.

Well, y'all enjoy what's left of the all-too-quick weekend, Oldsmofriends.

Yep, went into George & Sally's diner for coffee and a donut, they just opened the Ford Model A museum across from the Franklin Museum...pretty cool, last year they opened the Heritage Center with a sit down cafeteria and the gift shop moved there, also has a conference center there and nice restrooms. They are set to break ground on the Lincoln Museum and the Cadillac & LaSalle museum this year.

Good evening everyone.

The temps are nose diving here, getting a little too close to the freezing point

Hope everyone had a great day. Being Mother's day, I made dinner tonite. She liked it, so I guess I might know what I'm doing

Wow, 1969 (I can't remember your name) sounds like the place has changed quite a bit since I was there. I never actually got to eat at the diner, they were just closing up when we got there.

Sounds like an interesting find Mike.

Have a great week everyone.

Evening All!

Thanks for the happy wishes all.

It was a cold day here today. Burrrrrrrrrr.... even had some sleet for a couple minutes, once. We had sun and clouds all day, no rain. Wind was blowing strong all day, so wind chill was like in the 40's. We got up to 52 today but it sure didn't feel like it.

Yesterday was cold and windy too but not as bad as today. We're gonna warm up later in the week to the high 70's, but with storm chances. Don't know what cruuisin nights are looking like yet.

I went out earlier and schleped all the plants back into the breezeway from on the deck. Put the burlap back around the Hydrangea, and covered the maters with plastic. I hope we don't get a killing frost tonight. I'm just not understanding this friggin weather.....

I took Lin shopping yesterday. Bought myself 3 short sleeve blouses and a dress to wear to Nicole's graduation with my Christmas gift card. After we took her groceries home, we went up to Jean's and then over to the cemetery. Then we went to the DQ and had our chili dogs and milkshakes. Took some pics with my phone of a nice 69 98 sitting in the lot across from the DQ with a for sale sign on it. It was real clean. I didn't get home until after 9:30 last night.

Larry offered to take me out to eat today, but I said no thanks. It's just too busy. He asked if I wanted to go to a movie or to the shooting range or something, but I didn't. I stayed home and did laundry and some cleaning while Larry snored in his chair, lol. Got my hair washed. Put out a dish of jelly for the Orioles, and a half of an orange. There were 2 males and one female out here today. I took pics, of course. They really like the jelly.

Larry got me a nice card and some scratch off tickets, and Nicole got me some bath stuff. It was a good day. I wanted to clean Teepo, but it was too cold out there in the garage.

So Nicole tells me she's gonna move to Connecticut with Devon after she graduates. I've been in the dumps all day just thinkin about it. I just don't know what's wrong with her. I'm clueless. I told her she better think about this, Larry will not let her come back again. This isn't a friggin motel we're runnin. I told her she better just go for a few months and make sure it's going to work out before she moves all her stuff over there. She said she's already applying for jobs there. I don't know. It just makes me sick to think about it. I already know it's not going to work, but she won't listen to me. I have no idea what she's gonna tell Larry. I don't want in the middle.

I was so hoping that before graduation she would be working in a vet's office, saving for her own place, and trying to make something out of her life. Not continuing to run after these facebook guys and stressing me out. Nuff said.

Brian is gonna be off Wed. - Fri., so that will be nice. He talked on the phone all friggin day Friday. All day!!!! I had to go out to eat lunch Friday just to get away! He didn't touch anything of Steve's all day. Clay did what he could do. I'm sure they'll have the heat cranked up in the morning since it's gonna be in the 30's tonight.

Well I better get off here and get stuff ready for work. I have to go out in the morning before I leave for work and un cover the maters. You all have a nice night.

Evening everyone. Been busy the last few days doing spring yardwork so I haven't been on here. I saw a landscaping truck the other day stocked with wood chips so I gave them a call to see if they would drop some off for me. The guy told me that it was an all or nothing deal, and that I had to take the full load of what was in the truck. I said, sure no problem. Well, they showed up and dumped about 15 yards! Holy crap, now I have to find a place to put it all.

Good to keep busy since the job situation stinks right now. The job I interviewed for looks DOA since the FDA won't approve it right now and they want more info. No idea how long it could take. Just stayin' positive and will keep looking.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Morning all.

draggin the derriere today. It was a long weekend. Left the house about 5 on Friday, and pulled back into the driveway around 8:30 last night. It was a good time. the racing was more fun than I expected. I just couldn't hit 80mph on that zuk. 79 was my fastest radar. But I did take 9 seconds off my time in the last run which netted me 4th place out of 10. I was pleased with that since it was my first hill climb on the least set up bike.

I pretty burnt we had lots of sun the past 2 days. and looks like mid 80's for the next couple.

Sounds like you have your work cut out Darrell.

Congrats on the finish Paul.

Have a great Monday all.

Blue Monday.... how I hate....

Morning, Oldsmopals. Cool and crisp at the Plantation this morning; 49* -- kitties didn't want to march their spoiled king-size ***** outside; they just wanted to skip straight to their brushing -- which is usually their reward for coming back in before we leave.

I pick up the better half from the airport this afternoon after her visit to Pejorative (a.k.a. Peoria). It sounds like they had as nice a Mothers' Day as could reasonably be expected, considering her only brother, Rick, was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. What a shocker. He's going to undergo radiation tx, after getting all kinds of shots over the last few weeks.

Prognosis is not terrible, but you never know with this stuff. It doesn't seem to have spread after the initial CAT scans and bone tests. But he's prolly going to have to quit his car-salesman job pretty soon, since he works the usual 55-60 hours a week at the dealership (a.k.a. "detention center"). Prayers are certainly in order and appreciated.

Picked up a nail in the Fusion last week; that's after picking up one in the F-150 the week before. I guess this week will be the Camry's turn ???

Patching a tire is $17 these days, and that's with me bringing the tire to the guy. But he does a decent job. I must've had 10 put on since we're in Ponchatoula; none has failed yet.

Pretty sad about that Mom's Day shooting in New Orleans; It made headlines all across the country this morning. That neighborhood is very familiar to me; when we were kids, we were actually known to walk near there -- just about a mile from the house I grew up in. In fact, it's just a couple blocks away from one of the first Popeye's restaurants in the city -- and thus, the nation (mid-70s). I used to ride my bike there on Saturday afternoons and pick up 24-piece boxes for my family if Mom didn't feel like cooking.

It was a different city back then, before the crack/drug/gangsta' culture that has plagued big cities over the last few decades took control. My heard bleeds; there's no solution in sight.

For those who haven't heard, 19 people were injured (3 seriously) when three idiots started randomly and indiscriminately shooting into a parade of "Second Liners." There were actually about 10 fully uniformed N.O.P.D. cops stationed throughout the parade ranks.

Sorry about Nicole, Sandy. I know you're saddened, but prolly not all that surprised. Poor girl sounds clueless. Why is wisdom wasted on the old? And since it sounds like her safety net has been cut, I guess she'll have to learn the hard way.

We're still pullin' for you, Darrell. Something will turn up sooner rather than later.

Smack 'em good, Jamesbo. I think Tiger is starting to take note of you.

Have a fabulous Monday, folks.

Morning All!

Cold and crisp here. It was 33 when I got up, light frost everywhere. It's around 42 now and it's sunny. Only getting in the low 50's today for a high.

I went out and took the plastic off the maters this morning - there was ice on the plastic and on the clips I used to hold the plastic to the metal mater cage thingys. I'm glad I covered them. Probably will cover them tonight too.

It's quiet in here, except when Brian is talking on the phone..... Steve is back. Gonna be a long day.

Darrell.... hang in there! Something will come along.

John.... that shooting was sad. What's wrong with people??

Clint... glad you had a good time.

Jamesbo.... hope you golf well today!

Well you all have a good day!!

Evening everyone.

Went to Summit tonight. Probably over 100 cars and sunny and not hot. One Oldsmobile, a 66 Cutlass. Stunning.

Beautiful day here. I slept till noon and then went to Awful house and Walmart, then came home and worked in the yard until it was time to leave. A pretty full day which is rare for my first day off. Plenty more to do tomorrow.

I'm wondering if these nutcases are copycats in that they want the attention others get when they cause mayhem. I've seen a lot of disturbing things on the internet lately. Oh like that surprises me.

John hope the Mrs. got back okay. Hope the brother does okay.

Well you guys gotta get a couple things done before bed. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Dang, that had me going. I figured you had a list for us. Then I realized you missed three periods.

'Twer 52 at the plantation this morning. Wiffey got up yesterday and it was 32*, and coming home yesterday evening, the car thermo read 83*. Quite a spread. Thanks, Mike. Plane actually landed about 19 minutes before scheduled; nice switch.
Last night they identified the cretin shooter as Akein Scott, a 19-y.o. thug with a long history of arrests. Motive is still unknown.

Lord have mercy on us all.
Well, yous guys have a great Tuesday.

Good morning everyone.

Clint I'm usually a stickler for correct spelling and punctuation. I guess I was writing like a talk. Now if you don't have enough to do of your own, come on over.

John if we get there at all we're on time. Glad she's home safe.

Jamesbo never heard of that place. I'm not adversed to trying something new, but Palmetto is a bit of a stretch for me.

And now for something old(Awful house). After I get my lottery tickets I have the day to myself. Scot give me a call if you're around this afternoon.

Have a good one everybody.

Morning All!

Cloudy and around 40 right now. Supposed to get up to 60 and have rain. Tomorrow 80!!

Walked in here this morning and it's hotter than Hades..... Clay said 'shut it off', but since Brian set it up, I said 'no'. I did turn it down a notch, and turned on my fan. Brian was just out there looking at the thermostat - I mean bent down looking straight onto it's face - to see where it was set. I said "I didn't touch it" He didn't say anything. It was cool in here all day yesterday and colder outside and no one touched the dammmmed thing. Today it's warmer out and he's cold..... whatever. It's all about him.

Oh crap..... now Brian just got online and read about the thermostat, and adjusted something called the 'heat accuator' on this one?? He says it should be set at a certain .2 or something, and our thermostat is not. I don't know......

He brought his lunch today, so that means I'm going out at lunch and eating in Tincanio. I'm soooo glad he's gonna be out the rest of the week. Gonna be a long time until the end of June when he goes on vacation for 2 weeks.

Jamesbo.... we didn't have much frost in our area last night. We did the night before, though. I covered the maters last night and went out this morning and uncovered them. They still look nice.

The Orioles were out this morning. We have 2 males and 1 female, near as I can tell. We saw the 2 males together in the tree on Sunday. I took more pics, lol, which I will be posting when I get them downloaded. We put a dish of jelly out for them and a slice of orange, because I was reading that they like that. They love the jelly!! They make a cool sound - the male was making it last night when I was out filling the other bird feeders. He wasn't singing, just making a sound of some sorts.

Well Devon has filled Nicole's head with all sorts of things about how I just don't want her to move out of state, I want to keep her home, etc.... Now all of a sudden she's saying things like "I'm 20 and living with my parents", I told her so are a lot of kids anymore, now she wishes she would have never taken the vet course because there are 'so many opportunities' open for her. I asked, like what? Well she'd like to get into forensic medicine, history, all sorts of things. I said, yeah, but you have to go to school for all that, and you have to pay for it. She doesn't think she will make much over $9 working for a vet because she's not a 'technician' just an assistant. I asked her how she knows that, if she doesn't go and apply for an assistant job anywhere? Whatever. Devon knows all now, I know nothing...... Lord knows I'd love nothing better than to see her get her own apartment and make it on her own. I just don't know what the friggin rush is all of a sudden for her to move. I tried to tell her that she will have no medical or dental insurance if she moves over there, either. She has to be a dependent or in school full time. She'll have to get another drivers license too. Guess I'll put the Intrigue in her name, I don't want to get sued if she lets someone else drive it or something. Kids........

Oh well, just venting! It is what it is.

John.... I swear to God these kids have a gene or chromosome missing these days. There is something wrong with them. We grew up watching people shooting on TV and such, and it didn't make us want to go out and just kill people! I don't get it. Just another stupid senseless tragedy. Your not safe going to the gas station or the grocery store anymore. It's just sad.

Well guess I better do something, so you all have a good day!!

The world sure has changed in the last 20 years or so.... Man I'm glad I'm old and retired,

Never understood all the violent video games.... gotta have an impact on kids - especially those growing up without a father in the house
