Yee haw!

Can't believe it. Nicola Boom Boom was wrong. Gotta write this in my diary - a woman that was wrong. LOL Not only is it starting to warm up but that 8-10" must have been something else she was dreaming about, not snow. Only got a skiff - maybe 1/4 to 1/2" and it's busy melting off.

Jamesbo - I remember Bobby Jones and the beaver. Am I just old or what? I think the movie about "The Greatest Game Ever Played" sort of characterizes the bonds and fraternization of the great golfers back then. I love that movie even though it doesn't help me on the links.

Scot - Who's Elsie? Must be a real terror to ruin the rest of the weekend for you. In laws do that for me - whelp most of em anyway. LOL I was searching for a storm named Elsie and the first thing at the top of the search page was this It appears Google even agrees with me LOL

Mike - I like your strategy. Just telling the lead you're not qualified lets you pick the work you want. BTW, WAKE UP - it's almost 1:00 PM....

Darrell - heck if you're doing the timing chain ya might as well just pull the engine and rebuild it.. JK

Allan Elsie is Borden's mascot, a cow. Hence the cow + flat rock = Supposed to rain ere all day.

Afternoon All!

Missed ya all weekend! Got Teepo out today and took her for a 14 mile drive!!! She loved it.... I was pretty happy too, lol. Nothing like getting in and having that old car smell just calm the nerves! I sure enjoyed our ride. It's sunny and 60 here today. Roads are all clean from all the rain last week.

Yesterday was cold, dank, wet and miserable. Had some sleet for a while. It was only around 41 degrees and just yucky. We're supposed to be at 72 tomorrow and then back into the 50's a few days.... it's gonna be up and down, rain and dry all week. Wish it would just get friggin warm and stay warm, already!!

Got my laptop back yesterday. Spent last evening re-installing my printer, my wifi connector thingy and such. I don't know why, but my screens are all like 'stretched' out wide. I can't figure out how to shrink them back like they were. Guess I should call Sue and find out. I can live with them like this, but it cuts things off the sides. I went to the control panel and messed around with a few settings, but nothing changed.

We saw a beautiful 1984 Olds 98 Friday night at Wal Mart. I had to go over and oogle it, lol. Maroon with the velour interior. Very nice..... I sure as heck wouldn't have left it in the Wal Mart parking lot. It wasn't even parked out by itself. I never leave Teepo anywhere. I wouldn't have had it out in that rainy miserable weather Friday either. But that's just me.

Mike.... sorry, I wasn't in Gawja, lol. Must a been my twin, poor girl.

I haven't done much today. Went out to the garage and cleaned Tincanio out. Vaccumed her and got the mud off the floormats that has been on there since we went to the shooting range in March. I filled the bird feeders so all these dammed blackbird pigs can clean them out in a matter of minutes, lol. I got the house cleaning and laundry done yesterday.

Tomorrow's Monday already. Brian will be back. At least he's going out on the road on sales calls the following week, so that will be nice.

Larry is grilling some steaks right now. I keep telling him to make me a burger - steak is way hard for me to chew. But he never listens to me... He got some corn on the cob too. I have to cut it off the cob now. But it still tastes good.

Well you all have a great afternoon!!

Evening everyone.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Mine is just beginning.

Well, I slept until 330 today. Sorry Allan, I didn't hear you all the way over there. The phone rang around 930 and it seemed nice enough outside, but then around noon I guess I got up and it was raining. So I went back to bed. I'm so tired of frickin' rain.

So guess what I'm doing tonight. Figuring my taxes. I have never, ever waited until literally the last minute to get them done. I'm getting money back but it isn't much so it doesn't really matter. I wonder if you get in trouble sending them in late if you're getting a refund? I'll have these done and mail them on the way to the Awful house in the morning.

Also tomorrow the insurance adjuster for the roof is coming. I'm anxious to hear what he has to say, but not in a big hurry to have a roof put on the house. I can only imagine the mess that will be in the back yard for the dogs to run through. Nails, scraps, whatever. Also need to call my agent since I haven't heard anything else about the other cars.

Okay gotta get this done. Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

Evening all.
For you Gawja folks - Nicely done. The Masters looked so purty on the tube even with rain falling. Australia takes the green jacket home today. Boy was it CLOSE; it almost went to Argentina. Both Angel and Adam played an exceptional last round in the rain. Kudos to both of them for a demonstration of real sportsmanship.

Mike - Sorry buddy, I yelled as loud as I could. Didn't have your phone number to annoy you. Taxes? Oh yeah, better get my tax program loaded. Up here it's really not bad if you let the puter tell you all the tips. E-file to the tax man and usually get the refund in a couple weeks. That will be a nice check to use on the Cutlass.

Roofing? When they do the new roof, usually they come along after with a magnetic pick up for nails an such. Pups shouldn't be in jeopardy

My trusty old 14.4V Craftsman battery charger seems to have packed it in. The cord was broken at the plug so I cut it and spliced/shrink wrapped the two connections back together. The charging indicator's not working still and the battery is flatter than Betty Boops fried eggs. Have to troubleshoot that and see if I can rebuild it.

Installed one of those new shaped shower curtains in 'The Boy's' bathroom. The old shower curtain was a straight rod with a pressure spring holding it between the 2 walls. This new one gets the fixtures bolted to the wall and the curved rod gets bolted to the fixtures. I wanted to replace that thing years ago but finally did it after we got the new rod on sale. Looks really nice and on the inside it's like going from a VW Bug to a 73 Olds Ninety Eight. Can't believe how much more room it gives.

See ya Monday.

Morning all. Well raced hard yesterday (until I broke) But the Missus and the Kid both finished 2nd. After we left and the bikes were racing, a guy died out on the far end of the course. Heart attack, I guess. Hey, at least he went having fun.

We're getting ready for another week of cold and snow. Supposed to get down to about 5F on weds. night. The missus just pulled all the mulch off the plants, looks like we have to cover the flowers up to keep them from further frost damage.

Have a good day all.

Happy Monday everybody.

I finished my taxes and got to bed around 1. If I would have thought I was getting so much back I would have sent them in sooner. Like January. My boy woke me up at 430 to go out, and then I couldn't get back to sleep. So I've been to Awful house and Walmart and was home by 830. That doesn't happen very often.

Allan I see those curtain rods in hotels now. It is nice having a little extra elbow room. Now you just need the muliple shower heads and light therapy.

It didn't take long for news of the Rolls to be leaving that I started thinking about a replacement. I'm going to look for what I wanted in the first place, a 70 Cutlass convertible. I might consider a 67 if I can find one with a 6-21 build date. Clint, any idea what vin number range I should be looking for?

Sandy you should make some road appointments for Brian. Send him far away so he's out of the office all day. But don't laugh when he comes back and says he traveled 200 miles for nothing.

Jamesbo I hope you have someone friendly to you to put in that water heater. I needed one just after I moved into this house and the going rate was about 800 bucks. So I bought one myself for like 250 and my (then)buddy put it in for nuthin'.

Okay gonna get going and get something done before the roof guy shows up at 10. Glad it isn't raining. Well, I'm glad it isn't raining anyway.

Have a great day all.

Morning All!

A nice sunny pleasant morning here. Temps around 56 degrees. Heat is on in here though, and Steve's heater, so the thermometer is slowly climbing up. Supposed to have rain tonight and into tomorrow.

Brian is back here filing his nails with an emery board.... and he thinks my fan is annoying? Whatever......

I picked some fresh daffodils and hyacinths and brought in here with me this morning. They smell sooooo good! Everything is really budding after all that rain we had. Tulips and Peonies are way up, Forsythia bushes are in bloom... it's pretty out. Really getting green.

Larry mailed our over $13,000 taxes on Saturday. Nothing like working to support the government.......

Well have a great day all!

Good morning,

Jamesbo (dang IPad changed your name agin!) - I'd be tickled to come down and help ya install the heater. Is it gas or electric? Booking a red eye on Delta. I hear from 'someone' they have great maintenance program and fantastic mechanics.

Mike - I know what you mean about early get ups. Graeme woke me up this morning at 0325. He was JUST going to bed! Think I could go back to sleep? Same boat as you. Made his lunch so he could sleep in a bit and he say 'No thanks, I'm not hungry'. I guess maybe Joanne might help eat it when she finally wakes up. Kinda quiet here playing with the IPad. I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Clint - glad you had a good race weekend. What broke? BTW, I didn't send that crappy cold your way. Really sorry to hear about the fatality but truth be told I also want to go doing something I love.

Sandy - Yowsa! That's a heap of cash to lose to IRS. Wish it was less. Hope ya claimed all those medical bills you had last year. You should insist on your own office so Brian can be insufferable in his own little space. Is he girly? Really, he's filing his nails? Does he also sit to pee?

Well, time to surf the site some more....

Well Allan R... last year we had to fork over $21,000 to the IRS. This year the company didn't have as much profit so that saved us some money. The accountant did use the medical I submitted. I paid over $5,000 out of my pocket for the year in medical. I know it has to be a certain percentage of your income before they can use it, but I did see it listed on one of the millions of pages our taxes have. Believe me, we try to use whatever we can for deductions, lol.

I wish we could move to a bigger unit here. Id love to have my own space and not have to share the room. Yeah, Brian does have a big feminine side, lol. He's the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet, but hes more girly than I am! I think both of his sons are gonna be just like him.... his daughter is probably more tougher than they are.

It is nice out here today. Its up to 65. I enjoyed my walk. Its real windy though. But the sun peeked out a few times from behind the big white fluffy clouds so it felt good.

Well, got some cleanup work done in the garage today and moved the Sonata out to the street. Found it was leaking some oil from the oil filter area so I suspect a bad gasket. Need to clean that up; I hate having leaks and a dirty engine. Next I have to move the Saturn out of its comfy garage and park it in the drive. Joanne's already good with that. LOL once I get going on the car she will be parking outside for at least a month.

Thursday the appraiser is coming out to do an insurance look at the Cutlass, and he wants to also see all the pending work that's scheduled. So between now and then I have to put my docs in order, build some tables in the garage for the parts display and pull the Cutlass away from the wall. It needs a spring cleaning and polish anyway. Not like it's going to run or even start since it still is waiting on the new gas tank install and brake line replacement.

Darrell, y'all can come over and help if ya want. The fun part is laying out the parts so it makes sense to even the appraiser.

Good luck Darrell on keeping the MAWs at bay whilst working on the Riv
QUOTE]

Too late Scott! The MAW's have been getting the best of me. Since I bought it a year ago, I have done:

- All new front suspension
- New wheel bearings
- New brakes hoses and m/c
- too many other smaller things to list

After the engine work, I have to redo the convertible top and then its as good as new. Will be my DD when I'm finished.

Good Tuesday Mawnin All

Gonna be another beautimus day here with a slight chance of widely scattered patches of the wet stuff this afternoon.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those that were injured or killed in the senseless bombings at the Boston marathon yesterday

Darrell I know what you mean about the pre-MAW list It is when you crack into it that the MAWs are harder to resist

Whelp I gotta run to Maconga today, the youngest has done it again and won another prize package this morning on WPGA-TV/Radio trivia

Howdy everyone.

Another beauty as well here in the Greater Stockbridge Area. Awful house is delayed due to having to wait on a call from the insurance person.

Scot I hope the little girl is buying you lottery tickets. She seems pretty lucky.

So I get this call from the insurance person yesterday and she said the 57 Chev is considered a total loss. I said, really? She said yes, and you can elect to keep it or let us take it. I said I'd keep it. Odd, you can hardly see the damage the metal is so thick. In fact, I figured they'd just blow me off about this car, I just included it because I figured I needed to since it was fully insured and there were problems with the other ones. Hm. I also asked her about the Rolls and she said Coparts would call me and make an appointment to come get it. You guys ever look at Coparts? Still waiting to hear about the truck.

That's funny, the MAW list. Heck, if I were ever to start into one of my cars, it wouldn't be a MAW list, it would be a required list.

I'm getting pretty hungry, hope this person calls soon. Have a good day everyone.

Morning All!

Cloudy and some sprinkles this morning, temps at 60. Rain supposed to come in later today. Gonna be a crazy weather week here, and in the 40's this weekend.

Not much going on. Quiet in here this morning. Steve and Clay will be leaving Thursday at noon for the celebration in Oklahoma. So it will just be me and Brian in here. Brian is getting his stuff together for his sales trips next week.

I'm going over to Sues tonight with this laptop and seeing if she can fix these stretched out screens and other little things that aren't right with this thing.

They have Nicole working afternoons this week, from 1:00 to 7:00. That will work out well if they keep her on that schedule while the Intrigue is being worked on. I'll be able to run home at noon and get her and take her to work, then pick her up at night. I'm gonna call Bob today and see if I can bring the car in next week.... she goes on her trip to Conn. on the 24th I think, and will be gone a week. Maybe he can get the car done while she's gone! She dropped off the estimate at Tony's yesterday, so hopefully his dad will come off the money.

Well you all have a good day!

Ok let's try again. This will be the reader's digest version just in case.

Scot - you need to Go to Sandys. Drop over to see how she set up her trophies an such so you can build something for your youngest ones continued winnings!

Sandy - I think your laptop display just needs to have the display settings modified. Check 'Control Panel - settings- display. Sounds like you're in for a nice treat next week. You going to spend next weekend cleaning and detailing teepo?

Jamestown - up here we use gas heaters but for electric, usually when it cuts out it's a circuit breaker that's just worn out and won't take the stress till it's darn good an cooled off enough. And the reason it wouldn't work on Sunday is obvious. That's the sabbath when everything's supposed to rest

Clint - Sorry to hear about the snow. Hope it melts off quick.

Graeme surprised the heck out of me today. He got up and caught the early bus. Normally that's just when he get's up. He has some CAD drawings of a new facility he designed that need to be printed and early usually means no lineups at the print center. I was surprised that each of the pages (24x32?) costs 5.00 to print. Good thing he has enough print credits in his account.

Going to start building my parts display in a bit and start bringing stuff in from the shed.

Kwik check-in for mee too.... Hope all are well 2day.... actually busy at work.
So now begins the countdown to 9/30, my new retirement date~!
If I'm fortunate, I'll look back at this last 6 months at some point in the DISTANT future and get a little misty.... OR MAYBE NOT!
Y'all have a great Tuze-day. Got be a bluetooth for my cell while driving, and now I need to figger out how to use the gosh dern thing. Also has FM radio in it; might actually use it when home outdoors mowing the lawn or something, since it has 2 earbuds rather than just the ding-dong hanging out of one ear....

Allan R.... I already tried changing the settings and nothing. I'm going to Sue's after work so she can see what's going on with all these little annoyances...

John... I love my bluetooth! People look at me funny when I'm talking on it without a phone in my hand, lol. It comes in soooo handy when ya need both hands. Mine is an old big black one, but I love it!!!

Sandy - try this. Make sure you're on the desktop screen first. Right clik and get the 'personalize' or 'properties' menu.
Clik on display.
The screen should show whether you've got the monitor set for wide monitor application or the regular. (will probably be shown as monitor 1/monitor 2). Pick the one that ISN'T selected. Check (enable) the boxes that make it your main monitor and 'extend' it to your desktop.
Clik 'apply' and you should be back to normal screen viewing.

I'd be surprised if that doesn't work.

Jamesbo - could be the thermostat is bad and letting the water get too hot. That will trip the reset. Or it could be the heating elements acting up too. Try turning down the thermostat on the heater and see what happens.

No wonder it's so quiet, Jamesbo; it's not even dawn yet

None of the electric water heaters I have (2) has a thermostat that's adjustable. My gas one had one, however.

Hopin' for a quiet day today; there's a big presentation to the big-wigs, but my (little wig) work has already been done, so hopefully things will go smoothly.

Used the bluetooth on the way home, Sandy... I do like it! I'm not as convinced about the dual earbud setup, but I sure do hear great over it; I'm just not sure about leaving both buds in the whole way home (1.25 to 1.5 hr.). I need to see if calls will automatically come thru if I have the radio function selected on the B.T..... else I have to turn the radio in the car higher!

It was a balmy 71 at the Plantation this morning.... spose to be pretty cloudy w/ 20% chance of flat-rocking.... but the big rain's spose to come Friday morning. At least there won't be any BIG fests down here to get wet....

Y'all have a great humpity, Oldsmofriends.

Happy hump day everyone

I think I need a couple advil after lugging around all those parts an such yesterday. Forgot how heavy glass is. For the most part today all I have to do is organize the 'display'. I think I got enough stuff to build another whole car.

Jamesbo - Glad you got that water heater under control.

John - never did get into BT. Lots of peeps do though. I think up here it's illegal to drive with 2 earbuds because it blocks the sound from emergency vehicles. Same thing as them deaf morons who can't drive without their stereos blasting.

Sandy - did Sue get your laptop screen issue resolved?

Morning All!

Partly sunny here this morning and temps in the high 40's. We're supposed to set a record tomorrow of around 83 degrees, but thunderstorm chances.

Brian turned on my fan this morning!!!!! Both guys have their heaters on out there, it was already 74 in here when I came in, 76 now. Brian also turned on my fan yesterday... I was impressed! Tomorrow when Steve and Clay leave, we can turn on the AC. I know if it's 80 outside, I'm gonna die in here without the air on.

I went over to Sue's last night. She changed some of the settings on this laptop. Some of the screens look better, but here on CO, it's still stretched wide. Half the page is hidden to the right now and I have to scroll over if I want to see it, where everything used to fit on the page. I don't get it. I might have my other computer guru take a look at it....

I called Bob yesterday. He said I could drop off the Intrigue next week, it will take about 4 days for it to be fixed. So hopefully Nicole can find a ride to the airport and we can drop the car off the night before she leaves. That would work out great. It would be done when she gets back and I won't have to tote her around.

Well you all have a good hump day!!

That's really bizarre. Have you tried resetting it to factory default?

No, I looked but didn't see one on the S.O. Can you send me the link to the thread? I'd like to compare and see what may be different.

Just doing dishes and then heading out to work in the garage
