Gee, I'm sorry to hear about those dogs. I'm even more sickened by the fact that someone who is convicted of animal cruelty in the US gets a stiffer sentence than the sick perps up here who commit murder, vehicular homicide, manslaugher etc and get a slap on the wrist and close to no jail time or a 'strong tongue lashing' by a so called judge. Seems that judges up here are afraid to dole out a real sentence. Yeah, like that gives the legal system credibility....

I'm sure you've all heard the Allyson McConnell story, it's made Intl news. She drowns her 2 sons, serves 10 months and is off scot free back to Australia to hide. Not even a glimmer of remorse or shame. That's not justice, it's another crime.

Evening all.

This will be the first night at work for me that will actually be pleasant, temperature wise, this spring. Last week it was still chilly at work but tonight it isn't supposed to get below 60.

John, isn't that a state motto, Missouri loves company? That meth addict groomer is another one I'd only need a minute with. I don't get people, and they're everywhere!

Hope you're feeling better tonight Bryan. Today is my bro-in-law's birthday, his name is also Bryan.

Jamesbo I never heard, did they ever throw that old man out of the Fox? I read that the group that he started is who was behind all that. Gratitude I tell ya.

Okay off to work. Hope everyone has a good night.

John, I don't understand how someone could be so cruel.

Have a thursday all.

Spose to be nice today wit thunderboomers late tonite

Mike, I think de Phantom of de Fox is still there an verticle. He eats lunch at Mary Mac's on Ponce every day. Either it's de sweet tea [or de Gin Martinis ] with cream corn, chicken livers and turnip greens dat keeps him going.

What's de e-mail address fer de insurance co auction? I need your Rolls to park down by de lake to show people I'm loaded. We could use it as a dock box and store life jackets, paddles an skis in it.

FWIW, I'm not gonna open any more animal cruelty links. I jes can't take it.

Good morning everyone.

Not a bad night at work. Started out on an MD88 engine change and ended with downjacking a 767. Beautiful day here, but gonna get bad this afternoon.

Nothing from the insurance company for a couple of days. Now I'm getting impatient because I want this all to be over. I'm sure the other 30,000 people are thinking the same thing.

Well I'm beat. Off to bed for me. Hope everyone has a good day.

---Jamesbo love love love the picture! Very true indeed.

Morning all!

Very foggy here this morning, temps around 44. We had awful storms come through right at 5:00 last night. I waited until 5:20 to make a run for Tincanio and I still got soaked. The rain was blowing right against the building here and water was coming in under the door! The light poles were swaying... it was a mess.

Today is more rain and storms and temps around 50. I heard a rain/snow mix for Saturday. I told ya to keep that crap out there, Clint!

I took my laptop over to Sue last night. She pulled the hard drive after she finally got the back open.... if didn't want to open. She hooked the drive up to her computer and copied my files. She was running a scan on the drive when I finally left at 8:30! I told her just to keep it and take her time and call me when its done. She had never seen that message that was on my screen about the file being corrupted or missing. She thinks it was an update of some kind that wiped out my configurations. I don't know, I don't understand all that stuff. So I got home around 9:00 and I was tired. It stormed again while I was at Sues and the standing water on the roads was terrible. Tincanio should have got all the salt washed off from underneath, lol.

My Marc called me yesterday - I haven't heard from him in ages - and hes going to come by today and take me to lunch! We're going to go to Panera Bread. I love that place. So I have something to look forward to.

Clint.... the lady said they have 45 days to let us know on the permit. We will either get the card in the mail or a denial letter. One or the other! So now we wait. I still have to get a gun, lol. Larry seems to be in a hurry to carry. Me, I can wait. Its a good thing Larry quit drinking 2 yrs ago. God he used to shoot that friggin shotgun and other guns when he was drunker than a skunk....scared the crap out of me. He shot into the side of the swimming pool we used to have for Nicole once - he was shooting at a racoon - and he said the bullet ricocheted off the sidewalk and hit the pool. Yeah right... I was there. Nothing scarier than a drunk in the dark with a gun!!!!

Well its starting to get warm in here. Steve's heater is blasting. It was a nice comfy 70 when I came in. Now its heading towards 76. It doesn't take long...

Quiet morning in here. I think all day yesterday we only had like 12 phone calls. Its slow... maybe people are waiting until after tax time to buy steel. Speaking of taxes, we finally opened ours the other night. We only owe around $12,000 federal this year. Have to take money from the lind of credit to pay it. I swear the harder we work, the behinder we get! Get up and go to work to pay taxes... so encouraging! Good thing we didn't have as much profit as we had last year to pay on. And from what I hear about this new wonderful federal budget that is going to be unveiled, its gonna be worster on us next year! It sucks. DC needs to learn to stick to a budget just like I do.

Well have a great day all and stay safe in the storms.

Good Evening Everyone.

Tomorrow is going to be a mess. They are predicting anything from rain to freezing rain, snow pellets and snow throughout the day. The city had actually started street sweeping already but now have to take the sweeper off and put plows back on some of the equipment. The city has even said that they do not plan on putting much sand down, just salt since they don't want to have to re-sweep the roads they have already done Luckily I'm not driving tomorrow.

Sandy, I don't think Clint or Allan listen when we ask them to keep the storms out west

One day until the weekend!

Paul??
What do you mean?? We kept most of them local. Dumped some on Calgary and sent some to Regina, Saskatoon and Moosejaw. I still have over 3 feet of white crap waiting to melt in my front yard. Finally shovelled a path to the shed so I can start getting some parts ready to move into the garage for when it gets warmer.

Calgary got hammered this morning and then it rained. We on the other hand had a pleasant 6° day with stiff NW winds. Supposed to start snowing tomorrow night and then turn to sleet. I promise we won't send any your way. Maybe I'll ship it south to Clint.....after all "They need the moisture"

Oh yeah, Friday. After 2 years of retirement I kind of forget what that means.

For Mike

Two airline mechanics were working on a 747 when lunchtime came. Rather than leave what they were doing, they just took their lunch break while sitting in the cockpit. While they were eating lunch, one mechanic bet the other that the landing gear would not retract if he pulled the gear lever up.
Tell the group what happened.....

Morning all.

Allan, Yes, I guess we do, but spose to have scattered showers today, and again they are calling for snow on Monday. Unfortunately they haven't seen any moisture down in Fountain(think Pikes Peak, Intl, Raceway) which is where we are racing this weekend.

The missus is finally gonna saddle up again and race with us this weekend. Its been a long time and I hope the dust doesn't discourage her. I know its been driving her nuts, and I'm gonna buy her a couple of different filtration masks to try. http://wolfsnout.com/

Paul, I listened, but the weather must be female, It does what it wants, not what its told.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Good Friday Mawnin All

Still raining here but is supposed to clear out before long, only to return Sunday

Clint I was thinking a mask that resembled a wolf's snout But those in the link look like they should do the trick

Allan I am guessing the plane retracted it's landing gear, although it was stationary

Fab Friday!

Lovely, cool, dry mornin' down here; was 47* in da' swamp, and spose to hit 70-sumpin' later.

Clint, how are things in the sleep dept.? I don't understand cruelty in people, either. Some folk just ain't got a compassionate or empathetic bone in their bodies. Lotsa' bone in dare heads, doe...

Designer, hopefully no new parts needed for the Olds at this time.... of course, there's always a ton of stuff you can do.... I'd like to have all the potmetal and chrome parts on the interior replated or replaced; but that's just not feasible right now. I really just need to start driving it more. The only thing I'm really going to have to invest in soon is a front end rebuild kit. The whole thing is pretty much original, and the lower bushings (what's left of them) are complaining pretty good!

So Mike, what day of the week does your crystal ball say would be good for you for Hotlanta in October? I want to keep it on the front burner, and also put a burner under Jamesbo's keester to put a burner under the Supermodel's....

Better half and I are prolly going to get a hotel somewhere down there for a night.

And speaking of time alone with scumbag animal abusers, I ain't sayin' they should be punished more than the murderers and rapists; but if society somehow lets those low-lives off with a warning, I'm still not gonna back off torture as a means of restitution for the animal abusers. Let's just punish both groups justly.

Happy Friday everyone.

We had our rain last night, around midnight or a little after. Some bad thunder and lightning. It isn't raining now and it looks like it wants to clear up. I thought the rain was gone until Thursday, but who knows.

Allan I'm not familiar with 747s, so I really don't know what would happen. I'm pretty sure the nose gear would collapse, as there isn't a whole lot of weight way up front and once the over center link broke over the gear would fold up with the nose of the plane crashing to the ground. I don't think anything would happen to the main gear, as there is so much weight there and the gear doesn't roll forward like the nose, it goes sideways. And pretty much nothing would happen if the hydraulics weren't on....

Sandy who's Marc?

So during the storm the dogs tried to dig their way out of their room. I got home to find the plywood screwed to the back of the door was torn off, and the plywood next to the doorframe had a big chunk out of it, and the carpet next to the door is shredded. That's okay, the room did its job. I'll do some quick repairs this afternoon when I get up and it will be as good as new. I am thinking metal for the door frame next time around.

So bedtime. Hope everyone has a good day and enjoys the weekend.

John you snuck in there. A quick perusal of my schedule for October shows I'll be off Saturday Sunday Monday. That doesn't mean I can't take a day off during the week if I find out about it soon enough.

Morning All!

Raining here again. Flood warnings are out everywhere, temps in the 50's. Rain/snow mix tomorrow they're saying and temps in the 40's.

Its a nice cool 72 degrees in here right now, though Steve does have his heater blasting out there.

Brian is off today so its really nice! Quiet... no complaining. I'm loving it!

Well Sue has my laptop all cleaned out just like when it was new. Now I have to get all my stuff reinstalled. I need to get a newer laptop - this one still has windows XP and they're up to windows 8 now, lol. She found 7 viruses in it. So I'll pick it up over the weekend.

Mike... Marc used to be my boss at the job I had before I came here. I worked with him for 10 years. He decided to join the army after 9/11 so he left in 2004 I think, and was in and out for awhile, then he finally quit. The place went downhill under new management so I left in 2008. But Marc and I have remained friends. I used to give him allergy shots every week, lol. I kept telling him I was gonna give him an air bubble if he wasn't nice to me. I was kinda like his big sister or something, you know? (Hes only 45) He'd bring me a fresh warm cinnamon raisin bagel every Friday. We always went to lunch on my birthday and on secretary's day. Yesterday he brought me a late birthday card with a bunch of scratch off tickets in it, since he was off on an army thing when my birthday was. He bought lunch and we had a great visit. I got back here at 1:35 but no one said anything cause I was late.

These guys didn't even get me a get well card when I was off last summer.... Marc had me spoiled, lol. I sure do miss those days. We used to have fun. Oh well...

Larry was fired up last night about the taxes. He had to fax the efile paperwork back to the accountants this morning, and Monday he has to send the check for over $10,000 to the friggin IRS. And we have to pay the state too. We actually overpaid the city of Stow by $36 whole dollars so they will apply that to next years taxes. What a joke...

Where's Jamesbo this morning? Everyone else is on early.

Well you all have a great Friday!

Preoccupation with morbidity?

Godspeed, Jonathan Winters.
Yep, another great one from the days of yore has passed, I'm very sad to say. He made a career out of side-splitting comedy without (to my knowledge) ever saying "damn."
IMHO, "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" ranks up there as one of the funniest, zaniest comedies ever made. I remember my aunt taking us in a Yellow Cab to the Martin Cinerama on Tulane Ave. in N.O. to see it on its first run.

Yup, is there another 0600 I don't know about? That's actually not a bad time to be up. When I was working I often was up at 0530. Old habits are hard to break.

I LOVED watching Jonathan Winters. He was the perfect good 'ol boy.

Hey everyone.

At 6am this morning I was just cleaning up from my night's activities. I'd say Allan you should have called but your 6am is a little different than mine. I was sleeping!

Jonathan Winters makes 4 this goround. I watched him in the 70s and never really cared for him. I was a kid so what did I know. I didn't appreciate what he was doing. Come to think of it I didn't appreciate much when I was a kid. After all the crap that's been going on lately God must have needed a laugh, so he called up Jonathan. May he rest in peace.

So I didn't know the 747 story was real. Was this a news story or just lore? Back when the L1011s were new they had a problem with the nose gear folding up. They'd be sitting on the ramp and then all of a sudden the nose of the plane would just sink slowly to the ground. Some valve was bad and I'm sure that was the basis for an EA or an AD or two.

Sandy I was out for dinner last week and saw this woman I thought looked so familiar. I couldn't place her but when I was thinking about it later I figured out she looked a lot like you. I tried to find some car show pictures with you in them, but they are lost in the back pages. I knew it, though, maybe that was you at Stockbridge O'Charley's.

Okay gonna HTB. Everyone have a good night and fun weekend.

Good morning everyone.

Sunny and 50 right now. I keep hearing about more rain and I hope we don't get it. Tonight is my last night and I have way too much to do over the weekend.

And that's all I can think of to say, so it's off to bed for me. Hope everyone has a good day.

Hmm, the Ipad apparently didn't post the last message. That's ok I like my puter better.

Jamesbo - did you know that the Ipad thinks you're a place? Keeps changing your name to Jamestown. It was frustrating till I figured out how to make the auto correct stop doing that. BTW did yer taters an such start sprouting? I know it's only been a short time but with all the beautimous weather??? Are you going to attend any of the Masters? Maybe show them how to really whack whitey?

Mike - Can't confirm or deny the mechanic story. It was in a blog somewhere that I read. What would Delta's policy be if someone screwed up like that?

Not a purty day here. Cold and chilly. Nicola Boom Boom said we're in for about 8" of the white stuff. Oh yay! Well I won't send it to Clint or Paul. I'll just let it drift in the wind and see where it goes. Doesn't pay to wash the car much up here lately....

Have a good day peoples.

Allan, Nutt'n dun sprouted yet. Should be soon.

IMHO go'in to augusta is a nice place to look at azaleas [an such] But when de re did it a few years back, it lost alot of charm. Long time ago, de had des ole building dat had been painted green a few thousand times dat had alot of old world charm. De men's room even had a UGA grad equipt with a spray can to keep things smell'in nice.

Now it's much mo modern and you can see if jes as well on de boob tube w/o de pollen haze.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I've been but got de t-shirt and prefer to enjoy it from afar. Oddly enough, the consession are still very reasonably priced.

Hey everyone.

Allan I don't know the official policy for a major screwup like this, but times past when people accomplish such an epic fail, they get promoted. Really.

Jamesbo I'm guessing this man is buried in Atlanta somewhere. I had no idea who he was so I looked him up. Seems like a standup guy.

Last night of work for the week, I hope it's a good one. If the weather stays nice this weekend I'll be busy busy. Nice day today.

Okay off I go. Have a great evening everyone.

Have to do a timing chain and intake manifold gasket on my 307 in my Riv tomorrow. Always something to do!

Thanks for that post, Jamesbo. Brings a shimmer to the eye... man, if that ain't talent, I never seen it.... Like Tim Conway and others, he just seemed to be such a nice guy, too.

I'm not a big whitey-whacker, but if it's in the neighborhood, count me in....

Rode the motorcycle a few miles today... such a gor-jee-yous day, had to do it. High of about 70, low humidity, in 50s this morning... WOW.

Y'all have a great resto' weekend, Oldsmopeeps....

Hey good morning everyone.

Hats off to Lumpy. This is too long of a string of people leaving us.

Sorry Jamesbo, never heard of him before yesterday. When he died in 1975 I was 8.

Crazy night at work. Started out on an MD88 that ended up needing a fan change. I'm not fan qual so another lead said, can you do sheetmetal? I said no. He said, okay come look at this. Well, it was far out of my scope so I went back to the MD88 and changed a tire and a brake.

Darrell good luck with the Riv. I need to change valve cover gaskets on the 307 in my Cadillac. Doesn't look like fun. Timing chain would probably be easier.

Gonna try to sleep till noon. That means, I'm gonna try not to sleep until 3. Hey someone call me at noon and wake me up, I don't have an alarm clock.

PS. Wikipedia says Leo Frank is buried in Queens, NY.

Good Sunday Mawnin All

Elsie is about to arrive and ruin what would be a stellar weekend

Oh well we had a blast taking the youngest to the 25th annual dogwood festival in Perry yesterday. Her chorus group sang in front of the masses and she done good I'm proud for sure. Not particularly fond of the festival though as it has scaled down tremendously since the beginning. I would usually promote these types of events but besides the children singing, the food and the dock jumping dog competition the rest left a lot to be desired.

Good luck Darrell on keeping the MAWs at bay whilst working on the Riv

Sad to hear about Frank Bank aka Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford He was only 71 years old.

Ol' Lumpy

The gorgeous weather ended rather abruptly around midnight last night, when a front pushed through with much fanfare; woke us up out of a cold sleep. Pretty much rained all night after that. Seems like the sun is now trying to peek out.... hopefully everybody can salvage a partial day at least at the French Quarter and Strawberry Fests.... although the Strawberry Fest is gonna' be quite messy... it's just about all on grass, and it was wet when it started Friday.

Sorry to hear of the ol' Lumpster.... neat clip, Scot... that pretty much summarizes his whole character. For some reason, I remember an episode about pistachio ice cream, his favorite, when Wally dumps a half gallon of it on his head at the end.

RIP, Lumpy.

Y'all have a restful day if at all possible....
