The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
Thanks for the heads up! Another thing that I've noticed several times lately is that when I'm actively on the site, the bubble by my Avatar that should be "green" designating that I'm on the site is not lighting up, weird????
Developers come & play. They break stuff, don't fix it. CO site doesn't generate enough revenue to warrant a (any) conscription(s) to administrative protocols.
Chris - Realize IB is nothing more than a private portfolio company owned by three predominant investment/equity firms: KKR (1°) & Warburg Pincus (2°). IB maintains a relationship w/ Singapore based Temasek. IB has a storied history having developed from vBulletin s/w. The vBulletin s/w website (vbulletin.org) was officially shut down last year (August) - the future of which is unknown. It was a good run for vBulletin as it garnered in a large group of dedicated worldwide developers. Since the CO website is developed from vBulletin, it's a crap-shoot what will happen to this site & others.
It's a continual battle...It wouldn't make much sense for me to ramble about in the muck discussing the various internet forum s/w platforms as they'd be meaningless to anyone unfamiliar with s/w development for Internet forum communities. Historically lots of hating among IB developers & vBulletin developers. I suspect the CO website still operates via vBulletin, yet I have no evidence to substantiate this claim. With the history of vBulletin, IB lawsuits, developers quitting IB & the release of XenForo internet forum s/w it's hard to say what's going to happen w/ any program and/or website which operates via vBulletin s/w. I am mostly familiar w/ PHP, phpBB, WordPress, Joomla as they are written to vBulletin s/w.
NOTE: There exists two websites vBulletin.org & vBulletin.com. The latter created after official vBulletin was put to pasture.

I forgot Drupal as another framework besides those already mentioned above. That marked my last (and final) dive into an open-source web content management system (CMS). Mind you, I have never written, developed or contributed to any of those frameworks. I downloaded the s/w & frameworks as OTS (Off The Shelf) products from various ISP sources (e.g. GoDaddy, etc.). I liked working w/ Drupal because it provided DB module(s) integration into the Drupal core & separated the back-end DB from the front-end web-facing platform - DB management/administration was something I had familiarity and enjoyed implementing.
Tee-time tomorrow 10am. Supposed to warm up to ~58°F by 3pm, temp. @ tee-time ~48°F. Shouldn't be so bad as winds will be slight @ 5mph - 6mph. I got in a couple games at Hilton Head last week - weather was gorgeous.
Glad you got in some golf at Hilton Head! Weather doesn't sound too bad for you tomorrow, same high temp as we're supposed to have here. Then we're suppossed to have 3-days in the low 60's. Crazy Winter so far here as far as warm temps, but I'm not complaining!
Well I figured out my still. No it isn't a still in the correct sense, I just called it that for lack of a better word. I was trying to overthink it and make some big contraption and this afternoon I figured out I could do the same thing with a couple of 5 gallon buckets. Adding heat to the process would likely speed things up, but I don't have any electricity in the little building it's in and I wouldn't leave a heat source unattended.
Well Chris the whole thing sounds complex to me, but I'm glad Gabe is doing so well, and kudos to him for not giving up after his public ***-chewing. Congratulations to the team for their extraordinary effort. Hope they have a safe trip home.
Turned out to be a nice day. Sunny and over 60. Supposed to be nice all week, which will be a waste because I don't have time in the afternoon to get anything meaningful done. Eh, I need to be careful what I wish for. I'm going back to an 8 hour shift here in the next few weeks. I'll be home earlier in the afternoon but my extra day off on the weekend goes away.
Fingers crossed the bathroom guys finish tomorrow. I think the only thing they have left is hanging the shower doors, which they were having trouble with on Saturday. They don't fit even against the wall, because nothing in the house is plumb. I suspect they will tweek and adjust and then fill the gaps with caulk. It will be near the floor and not so noticeable.
Okay time to hit the sack I'm beat. Have a good evening everyone.

I hope your contractor finishes up tomorrow, and that both you and your Mom are happy with the final results.
Mike - Well, gosh darn it. I was so hoping you were going to build a distillation chamber (still) to pull off some lighter components - that would have been awesome & way cool. You're doing a simple dilution/filtration.
I've been watching the Sunday Night Football Game between the Steelers and Ravens to determine the final NFL playoff spot, the champion of the AFC North. What a crazy, crazy incredibly exciting game. Even as great a player as he has been, I've never been an Aaron Rodgers fan, but grizzled veteran sure pulled off some 4th Qtr magic to bring the Steelers back for the lead with 2-minutes left, and the Ravens still had a chance to win it on a last second field goal with 2 seconds left from only 20-yds out and he missed it! If you want to see an incredible 4th Qtr of football, find a replay and stream it, it's just crazy! 🤪
Hi everyone.
Slept late, got to Mom's and the guys were just finishing up. The shower apparatus looked daunting to Mom so she asked them to show her how it worked. They couldn't get the hot water to work. I had to come home to attend to Tiger, so I left them to figure it out. They took some cartridge out and said there was no passage for the hot water. Hm. At least they didn't have to take the new tiled wall down. Yet.
Norm I was going to make moonshine once strictly to put in my old cars. I started researching how to build a still and go through the process and found it would be expensive and not worth the time. It takes an enormous amount of corn for a small return of whiskey. And time consuming. Plus, I wasn't going to drink any of it, I've had moonshine and I don't like it. Though it would be fun to actually do it one time just for the sake of it. Heck, pot is legal now so moonshine is sure to follow.
Chris glad everyone made it home. When do they go to Michigan? How is your sister doing these days?
Okay Mom just called and said they figured everything out. See ya's later.

The Michigan tournament is February 14-16. We will go up on the 13th, but not sure if we'll be headed home after they play on the 16th or staying another night and leaving on the 17th. My Sister seems to be doing much better, thanks for asking! I speak to her about every other day right now and she seems like her old self, and she tells me all the things she's doing to make herself both physically and mentally better. I'm taking her at her word and hoping for the best. Right now I am not planning on going by my childhood home where she lives when I go up in February. This is mainly because we'll be very busy at the Tournament and it is enough out of the way to make it logistically difficult. If she wants to see me she can come to one or more of his games. I hope she does.
Gorgeous day for a round of pasture pool. I shot a straight up avg. game. but my swings were consistent w/o much need to scramble any particular hole. My team took 1st place in both categories - GIR & total birdies. Two of the three guys on my team were just great fellers to play with. Between the three of us we were able to squeeze out a couple of friendly smiles from the fourth guy (deadpan **** knocker personality - you know the type).
My putting was off today just a tad. I need a gal to kiss my ***** for me before I play - that generally makes my putter straight.
Quota game tee time Wednesday 11am. Expected to approach ~65°F - 66°F, mild 7mph WSW winds.

Hi guys,
Dawn started feeling very bad yesterday morning and had a horrible night with severe achiness and running a temp of about 99°. She took 2 home Covid tests this morning and both were positive. She called our doctor and they called in a prescription for Paxlovid to our local Walgreens. Walgreens called Dawn and said all the Walgreens close to us were out of stock. Then she tried our local CVS, again out of stock. Then she tried Walmart and they have it. Right now we're waiting on the prescription to be transferred and filled. We're hoping it gets done before the Pharmacy closes at 7pm. 🤞

So, SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) is a single stranded RNA virus. Paxlovid contains two important protease "inhibitors". A protease is an enzyme which cuts up (like a scissors) select portions of the SARS-CoV-2 "spike" protein. In doing do, the SARS-CoV-2 virus is able to replicate making many copies of itself yielding to a cytokine storm immune response. The spike protein carries two select proteases to facilitate this replication. Paxlovid, contains two select protease "inhibitors" - they inhibit/stop the production of two fundamental SARS-CoV-2 spike proteases to prevent the virus from replicating. That's how it works.
Chris - This is an authoritative list for the product Lysol, which you can/should find handy. I simply searched the "List N" tool for Lysol since Lysol is available nearly everywhere. SARS-CoV-2 doesn't survive on non-porous surfaces very long (seconds>minutes), it can survive a little longer on porous surfaces. It's primary mode of infection is aerosol - fine & droplets - via airway &/or mucus (e.g. eyes/nose). Lysol wipes work great for door handles, knives, silverware, etc. DO NOT dry off the surface where you use the Lysol wipes. Additionally, if you also use Lysol spray, allow the liquid spray to remain on any surface for a minimum of three minutes. The same is true if you were to use EtOH (Ethanol) - allow the liquid to remain on the surface for a minimum of three minutes.

Thanks for the tips on disinfectants and strategy for reducing the chance of transmission. I think we have every disinfectant know to man! 😆
No, we weren't able to get it filled. Walmart messaged Dawn that it was ready. I ran down to Festus getting there 15-minutes before it closed. The Pharmacist took my insurance card and ran it and said their system was not recognizing Dawn as being on the plan, even though her name is clearly on the front of the card under mine as the primary card holder. The cost of the usual course of Paxlovid without insurance, only $1,867.00, I'm not shitting you! I will have to call our plan first thing in the morning and ask what in the hell is going on. If it isn't one thing it's another sometimes!

Ah Temperature, another of my joys today. Dawn pulled out our only Thermometer, a digital one, and the battery was dead. I ran to Dollar General to get a replacement battery, which of course they didn't have. Ended up buying a new Thermometer. Good news is her temp is staying around 99° right now and she's monitoring it.
I think it was last Wednesday I began to watch the Netflix series "The Diplomat". How timely after Saturday's extraction. The series is captivating. Excellent dialogue, well researched, exceptional acting/actors. It's darn good.
I'll have to check it out, I've been looking for another good Series to get into. Thanks for the tip!
Chris - I spent ~1 hour reviewing Paxlovid prescriptions.
Any federal monetary relief under the COVID emergency authorization act ended (~2 years ago);
Pfizer is the sole manufacturer (USA) & developer:
Monetary relief programs for Paxlovid prescriptions are income-based - i.e. over 65 yrs of age on Medicare disqualifies a patient for any monetary relief;
The largest monetary relief (insurance-based) is provided under commercial insurance coverage - not individual prescription policies.
This is a good discussion for yourself, myself & others to follow. The plain simple fact reduces itself to one of what is the absolute best treatment to prevent further progression from a mild>moderate case of COVID-19 to a more serious case w/ hospital intervention.

Good Luck to both you & Dawn - unnerving.

Among U.S. adults diagnosed with COVID-19, including those with previous infection or vaccination, persons who were prescribed Paxlovid within 5 days of diagnosis had a 51% lower hospitalization rate within 30 days after diagnosis than those who were not prescribed Paxlovid.

Good morning everyone.
Another beautiful day at Big D. Things are going well, if not a little slow. That's okay, I'm not feeling any need to be a superstar.
Chris sorry to hear that Dawn is under the weather. You both need lots of zinc.
The bathroom is done! The problem with the hot water was sediment in the line. He tried to blame it on my water heater. Funny, I don't have sediment in any other fixture. I have a feeling he pawned a used fixture off on me and the sediment was pre-existing. Well, as long as it works now. And Mom is thrilled with the whole thing, so big win.
No plans for after work. No time, really. I do need to stop on the way home to put gas in the car. Funny, whenever I'm in Australia I ask my friend if we need to put gas in the car. Her response, my car doesn't run on gas it runs on petrol. I simply say, gasoline. I get an "ah ha" look.
Fast on the way to lunch. I'm hungry. Although I got salt and vinegar potato chips which I can't stand. Maybe I can put ketchup on them or something. Okay have a great day everyone.
