The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
Hey guys,
Keegan's team played a team today in the Semi-final that they had beat on Friday. Keegan's team came out flat and their opponent came out swinging. Keegan's team got outplayed and outhustled the entire game and got clobbered 4-0. There was plenty of blame to go round, up and down the line-up. Hard to tell if the boys were taking the other team for granted because they had beat them earlier or not, but I wouldn't doubt it. They learned a lesson today, "That's why you play the game, no one's going to give it to you!"

Greg, it looks like there will a little snow tomorrow, along with a "bit of a breeze". I may head to Grand Haven to maybe get some wave action at the lighhouse with my camera in the afternoon.
Hey guys - We had a high of 76° here this afternoon. Projected low of 17° tomorrow morning with sustained 20mph winds!
Dan - That sounds like it could get pretty ugly up there. I don't really know how old you are, but one of my most vivid childhood memories is the blizzard of Jan. 26 and 27, 1967. Battle Creek got 29-inches over those 2-days. There were also very high winds and I can remember the snow was drifted up onto the roof of our Ranch style home. We were completely home bound for 4 or 5-days and I can remember snowmobile brigades going door to door checking with families to make sure no one was having a medical emergency, and to make sure they had food and water. Mom/Dad wouldn't let my brother and I go out and play in it for several days after it happened because of several reports of children dying of suffocation when their snow forts or tunnels collapsed in on them. The whole event was apocalyptic!
Yep snowing here this AM. I hope not much accumulation. Yesterday I never even left the house. It rained and stayed about 33 degrees. Old snow was hard and crusty and where it was flattened by cars it was wet glare ice- One of our neighbors couldn't move in a FWD car- crown of road took her to ditch. The snow in the yard was crusted over and so slippery it was hard not to fall down... I hope it will be ok on roads as we have to go to Midland for a Drs appt.
I don't really know how old you are,
I'm a couple of years older than you, I think at least four. I got the A/T's installed this morning, and while waiting, checked my phone and the scanner forums. Roads are crap, and people are off of the roadways all over. North and Southbound I-196 at Saugatuck are closed down due to a jackknived semi, plus a vehicle fire. I had to make a detour on my way home due to a tree across the road. We had recorded wind gusts of 58mph earlier this morning. Greg, be careful, slick and windy with poor visibility.
Good morning everyone.
You guys are making me twitch with your snow stories. The only real snow apocalypse I lived through was the blizzard of 79. The snow was unbelievable, and being 11 it was quite fun. I can't count the blizzard of 67 because that was in January and I didn't come around until June.
But speaking of rain, it rained in the night but not a lot, and now it's fairly nice out and the sun is out. I might be able to do a couple things in the yard, I don't know. I need to go around and redo the covers on the cars. The cheep covers I get at Walmart are now 34 bucks apiece, up from 24. I ain't buying them any more. A 50% increase at once? Forget it. I'll come up with something else.
My bolts are finished and they look wonderful. I cleaned up the area a little bit where the throttle assembly sits, so it's ready to go. I'll wait till it dries out a little before I put it on. If I get it all together I'll want to start it up and drive it and I don't want to leave huge ruts in the wet yard.
Bathroom guys are coming along. I'm hoping they get finished this week, I really can't judge how far along they are because every time I go in there they tell me about something that I hadn't thought about.
Okay Monday. Another crazy week. Hope everyone stays safe with the snow and whatever else. Have a good day everyone.

Nice job on the tractor bolts, glad they turned out as nice as you hoped! Glad you're having fun with it! 👍
Oh Man, I really remember the snow of 1967! I was about 9. We lived in Lansing, pretty much stopped the whole city- Great times for a kid!! The big one in '78 I missed, I was in San Diego in the Navy, but I heard it was almost as bad. Yeah, sometimes I wonder why I came back to this area after the service- It is amazing how much time and effort is required to deal with snow/ice.. Well I am set here now and prolly will not leave. It's all good!!

Norm, keep us posted. Hopefully nothing to severe. Ah yes, the New Years storm of '79. A year after the blizzrd of '78. I had a '73 Cutlass Supreme at that time. Bias ply tires, the ol' Town and Country snow tires on the rear. That thing was a tank. The neighbor across the street at that time, got stuck in his '69 Torino going downhill on our road. I pushed to get him out of the ****, he had his window down, and said "when I get down to the intersection, I'll stop and help you". I said no, keep going I'm fine. I was facing uphill. I just got in the Olds and motored away, with the undercarriage dragging in the snow. The snow really doesn't bother me. Just used to it I guess.
Good morning everyone.
Good start to the morning. Except, I woke up 10 minutes before the alarm, looked at the clock, and then instantaneously the alarm went off. How does that happen?
Norm what happened to the truck? At least you have the Awful house to keep you company.
I got stuck in the snow a couple times over the years due to worn tires. But I was pretty good at driving in snow. Never owned a 4 wheel drive vehicle until I moved to Georgia.
Like you Chris, Atlanta wouldn't have been my first choice for somewhere to move, it's where my job took me. I never did really like it, probably because I've always lived close to the city, but I've met a few people that I'd have a difficult time living without.
Another weird week. Won't be as big of a deal as last week. Cold this morning but supposed to warm up.
Okay have a great Tuesday everyone. Norm be careful.

Mike - Not sure of the truck issue. Might be the injectors which were recently worked on, could be fuel delivery. Right now we’re thinking injectors ($$). Only one word comes to mind at this point - patience.
Another night on the road. Apparently one bad injector but he’s replacing two. I’ve seen as much of this small town as I care to. Made it to my bank (Wells Fargo) to secure a wad of cash to get out of here tomorrow (fingers crossed) & finish my trip home.
Norm - What a cluster! Hope they get it fixed and you get back on your way home tomorrowi. 🤞
Wished I'd seen the whole game, but certainly glad I didn’t miss the 2nd half! I'm looking forward to the CFP game tomorrow between Indiana and Alabama. I'd really like to see Indiana win it all, but as long as OSU doesn't win it all, I'll be happy!
Damn I want to go to that Awful house, At mine the TEXAS Bacon Egg and Cheese Melt Plate is 11.50 .
Good morning everyone.
The lead didn't say anything yesterday but this morning he said he thinks we'll be done by noon. I'll take that. Gonna be nice but cold. I'll have to put on my big boy pants and just do stuff outside anyway.
Norm I hope the truck is done today and you can get home. Why are they replacing two injectors if only one is bad? Do they have to be replaced in pairs or sets? Well, whatever gets you home. You can still go to Awful house when you are home.
I think the light is at the end of the tunnel on the bathroom project. It will look nice and they are doing a good job, but I'm getting tired of them being there. I know Mom is. But she doesn't say too much because she knows I'm spending a shitload of money for her. Actually I'm glad to, she needs a nice place and it's slowly getting there.
The first, and really only, thing I think of when I hear Fighting Illini, is when they went to the [Pasadena] Bowl in Pasadena. It's the Fighting Illini in Pasadena....... to the tune of It's the Little Old Lady from Pasadena..... Geez how many decades ago was that.
Okay got some wheels. Hope everyone has a great New Years and keeps all their toes and fingers.
