The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
The Columbia order arrived @ 9:47 pm Weds. night. It would be nice if delivery drivers would ring the doorbell. Norm, I bought a two pan set from Analon a few years ago, some kind of sapphire for it's non stick coating. The wear has been decent, and you can use metal untensils on it, but when cooking I get a weird chemical smell even at medium heat. I decided to pay decent money and get the 5 ply stainless steel. I should not have to get another set. I have a local tire shop that has been in business for around 75 years, the grandaughter now runs it. She does very well at it, and is a really good person to deal with. She closely matches the Tire Rack in price. My last set was around 25 bucks more than the Tire Rack, and i didn't have to worry about shipping, nor going to one of their installers. She actually uses the Tire Rack as one of her suppliers.
Hi guys,
Today was kinda boring, that's OK, I needed some boring. I have not talked with my talked with my Sister today and do not intend to unless she calls.
Dawn did have to take Maggie to an unscheduled Vet visit to get her **** glands expressed. Yuk, it's horrible when dogs **** glands get clogged and don't express naturally when they poop. When they are clogged they inadvertently leak and leave the most God awful residual and smell on furniture, carpet, your clothes, etc. It is truly nasty. Hopefully she will be fine now.
Keegan has a game at 6:40 tonight that I'm going to. It's really 2 games, each 24-minutes with a running clock with a short break in between. I found a website tracking individual stats for players in Gabes league. I was happily surprised to see Gabe is leading his league right now in points, with 8 goals and 5 assists for 13 points in 4 games, which is pretty amazing with him moving up a skill level this year.
Hope everyone has a great evening! 😃

Dan - I had a set of the anodized non-stick cookware years ago - didn't like them. I've been using Cuisinart 5-ply stainless steel for many years & love them to death. Unfortunately, do to my own mistakes, I've warped the bottom of my 9" & 11" frying pans by simply leaving them on the stove to heat up far, far too long - basically forgetting about them. Let me tell ya, don't leave them unattended. This is the reason I need to replace them.
Norm - I'm assuming you're referring to getting in Maggie's butt and trying to express her glands ourselves? Believe it or not, Dawn actually tried twice while I held Maggie. Dawn has been successful performing this task on more than one occasion in the past, but could not get them cleared this time, hence the trip to the Vet.
Coulda woulda shoulda, Put the dirt in the dump trailer and left it in the tractor shed. I may still try that. Load the dump trailer with layers of dirt and peat moss [to help drying] put it iin the tractor shed and pull it out of sunny days
my hindsight is amazing

I wouldn't be up this early if I didn't have to go get those new tires put on at 8:00am this morning. I got the earliest appointment they had figuring they couldn't be behind schedule if I had the 1st, or at least one of the 1st appointments of the day. I'm really glad the roads are clear and dry this morning.
Good morning everyone.
Jamesbo that sounds like a crime drama. The City Sleeps.
Chris good luck with the tires today.
No rain but cloudy here. I'm gonna work over at the shop today. Haven't been over there in weeks.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Mike - It was a crime drama movie (1956) about the Lipstick Killer (starring Vincent Price).

Hi guys,
My new tires appointment went without event other than I was in/out extremely fast, approximately 25-minutes tops! Tires look nice and ride nice! Thoroughly satisfied with the service, now we'll see how the tires wear?

I helped my brother lifting in tiremachines a couple of days ago , Twin Busch from Germany.
Should be nice to do the tires ourselves instead
Looked to be very good quality.
Twin Busch GmbH - GARAGE EQUIPMENT
They have also a twopost lift designed for outdoor use all year around

Beautiful out here for Winter, sunny and 46°, and headed toward 50. Used the opportunity to do some yard work I had put off. Used the blower to blow all the leaves out of the front beds into the yard and then mowed the front yard one last time mainly to mulch all the leaves. Looks 100% better!
Hope everyone is having a great day! 😃

Arrived back home from an uneventful trip to the grocery store. We're getting plenty of rain these past several days w/ several fronts moving through the area. First it was modestly warm & wet which has now changed to cold & wet. Plenty of water to overwinter for my perennials, for sure.
I wouldn't call today a bust, but I'm not getting done what I wanted. Walked out of the house this morning and it was misting rain. Not gonna work at the shop in the rain and mud. Wanted to get under the Charger, not getting down on a wet driveway. So I've been doing a little house cleaning and filing. Just got back from Awful house.
Chris glad you like the tires. That's one thing I love is buying tires. Your car can look ratty and dirty but if you put new tires on it will look like a million bucks. I thought you were getting rid of that car.
Norm no wonder it sounded like a movie. Never heard of it although I have heard of Vincent Price.
I'd love to have a tire machine. Though I have the next best thing. A neighbor who has a tire machine. And I have a lift but there are two cars on/under it that don't ever move. Hm. Could be something to do when it rains.
Going in a minute to Mom's and we're going to put up Christmas stuff. We have a big Nativity set that my grandma made in ceramics class many moons ago. That poor set has been broken so many times and glued back together. Last year I had the bright idea to put all the pieces into their own big zip lock bags. That way when pieces break they don't get lost.

Hi Norm , no he is retired like me but we have some cars and most cars have winter / summer tires. And a lot of other wheels with air also.
Mom & Dad had all types of handmade Christmas stuff mostly handcrafted from Dad's mom. Some of the tree ornaments were crazy out of this world intricate & gorgeous. Every so many years Mom would get a hankering to make a new Christmas wreath so we would head out on a field mission to secure many natural materials. Mom always had a blast making Christmas wreaths & decorating for the holidays. A real bonus was the homemade eggnog - delicious.
Glenn - Very good. I am very familiar with the many sets of tires required for winter/summer. Hope you are having a pleasant holiday season, thus far.
Doing housework instead of car work today. Bills, dishes, cooking, laundry, stereo. Got the 70s Romance Double Sided Fireplace going. While this thing does not throw the most heat of any fireplace I have used, it does have two good views and will really draw. If I button up the glass doors, open the kick vents on both sides, and crack a window, it will do 2 foot flames.
I hope you have a nice time decorating with your Mom. I'm sure she'll really enjoy you being there! 😃

I had meant to comment on your Filberts earlier and forgot. I love Filberts, but hell, I love just about any nut. I'd have to say Cashews are my favorites. Sam's Club's Fancy Mixed Nuts are a great value and you get all the types which I really like.
I, like Chris, will eat most nuts, filberts included. We don't do pistacio much, my wife doesn't seem to like them. I made a simple chicken (kluskie) noodle soup today that was quite tastey. I'm probably going to make a Texes chili tomorrow. It should be good, following ArnieTex recipe. I guess I should link that.
Its been a long time since I've had to tend to a fire. I wouldn't mind some of that wood heat right about now. My family supplemented our heat with wood stoves in my younger years. I know how hard that can be to keep up a good pile of seasoned wood.
Stay warm and keep your powder dry.
