Chris those actually look like decent houses. I like the black one, but holy toledo would it be hard to cool it in the summer.

We finished up right before lunch. I don't know how, one robot was down for a few hours this morning and no one seemed motivated. But hey. Since we've done so well all week tomorrow should be a breeze. The lead keeps telling us the better we do the earlier we'll get out tomorrow. Oh and we're all starting at 4am. If he reneges(that doesn't look right) there may be a mutiny.

Matt the door looks great, and the whole truck will look even better. And how much fun will it be when someone asks you what color that is, and you say 35 Studebaker.

Ug an hour to go. Might take an extended walk somewhere. Not off a pier.

Mike - We think they're nice looking homes too, and we both like the same one you do, the dark blue one with the black trim. You're spot on about being hard to cool in the summer. What you don't know is that all those windows are facing directly South, sunshine pouring in all day, they will be like frickin ovens! The front of our house faces directly south, which I like because we don't have many windows on that side, plus it melts what little snow we get off the driveway and walkway quickly.

Mike - Did you find drywall tape? I've used both paper tape & webbing - both work fine, the webbing takes just a little bit more of a touch (feel) to get used to. If I don't use a full metal inside corner strip on corners, I use webbing as it adheres & maintains shape better than paper.

Chris - Watching T.V. & watching your wife work - priceless.

Golf was enjoyable. How can you not enjoy yourself playing golf at the end of December?

I think I finished Episode 6 or 7 Band Of Brothers last night. Good series.

Going to be cooler and much windier tomorrow @ 12:30PM tee time. Corn was all gone this morning & they've been working on the lick. Spread another 5 lbs before playing golf today.

I know, right! Like I've said, I've offered to help several times, to the point of getting the stink eye. You should know, that no one can paint it as well as she can. The woman wants what she wants, and I ain't fighting it. I may be dumb, but I ain't stupid!

Glad you had a nice day on the links, and you're right, ya can't beat a nice round of golf in December!

That’s every house here in Phoenix during the summer. 110+ ambient temperatures and intensely brutal sunshine from 6 am to 7 pm.

Excuse me, but I draw a distinction between any house in our climate being in an oven, and those where you are, which I would compare to being in a Blast Furnace!

Good morning 4am. Nice to see you.

For reasons unknown to me, it is our lead, scared of his own shadow most times, who wanted to start early so we could start our three day weekend early. Not only that, we are doing a reduced number today and will leave when we're done. We left at a quarter to two yesterday, so the muckities must be off work and far away.

Norm I did find my drywall tape, though I have yet to use it. I am working on an inside corner, but there is no metal corner strip, just compound. I will do my best to recreate what was there to begin with. Or do better.

So I'm still on the fence. This car in Asheville seems like a nice enough car, and it's a convertible, but I just don't know if I want to drive all the way up there to see it. Three hours isn't that big of a deal, but there are $2500 cars all over Atlanta. I need another car like I need a hole in the head, but I'm going broke driving my truck to work every day. If it were closer it would be in my driveway by now. But alas, it isn't. I'll figure it out over the weekend I guess.

Okay time to start this mess. Hope everyone has a good day.

Well, im not going to finish my current book this year, So I checked my running list.
I finished 31 book this year, beating my goal of 24.

Ive been doing audio books on my commute for work.

While I love Led Zepplin, AC DC and pink floyd, it was all that got played on local radio and I was growing to hate it. So when we moved further from work I got the "Libby" app, and put in my library card number (which I had not used in maybe 15 years). and have been checking out books for free for three years now. As a bonus I am enjoying my music at home much more, and find myself putting on Led Zepplin IV of The Wall, maybe because it is not being beaten into my head day in and day out.

I am now up to date with The Dresden files series, and finally finished the Baroque Cycle, which for me was a challenge.

I have noticed no change in my enjoyment or retention of what I am "reading". That being said, I have given up on a couple titles that I think I could do better reading a paper version, specifically, the Illiad and a few various norse/Icelandic Sagas. I think it may be because of the translations or maybe multiple similar names which I can have a hard time keeping up with?

I score everything with 1-10 when I am done, just based on enjoyment, and have found that most everything gets at least a 8.

Anyhow, I didnt know If I would like it, but I feel like I re-discovered my love of reading.. maybe if you have lost yours over the year you could give it a shot.

Enjoy your new year

Matt - I used to have to do an enormous amount of reading/analysis of technical proposals at my job when I was working. Back then, the last thing I wanted to do when I got home, or in my car, was to have to concentrate on something else. Now however, I was just saying on here a few days ago that I need an indoor hobby, especially over the winter months. Your suggestion to start reading again might fit the bill perfectly. Thanks for the suggestion!

Happy New Year to you and your family too!

Keith - I read a good Cliff Notes summary of 'Lessons in Chemistry'. Looks like a good/fun piece of work. I don't have Apple TV+ but I'll keep my eye out for the book & elsewhere. Thanks for the heads-up. I thought just the tale of getting the book to market was interesting - 8 or 9 publisher rejections while attempting to get it published & eventual Book of the Year.

" The art of racing in the rain "is an excellent book for the dog/ car lovers

Norm when you were in the service, did they feed you spaghetti before they put you in the gas mask training chambers? Obviously I thought about it when Lt.Sobel fed them spaghetti before the 6 mile run

Jim - Wow. You're awakening some interesting memories. Honestly, I can't recall - yet; when I stop to consider your question, there's a good chance you may be correct.

Okay I gotta ask, why spaghetti?

I saw that driving in the rain movie. I've always liked that Milo guy that was the main character, and of course the dog. The rest of the movie was a bit of a stretch. But heck it had race cars in it.

We rush rush rushed and got done by 8 this morning. Stopped by my airport on the way home and talked for a little bit. Then went to Awful house. Then picked up Mom and we ran a couple errands and got Sonic for dinner. Sonic is not terrific but nice for a change.

Gotta go home and hook up the trailer and then I can leave for Daytona at 0'Dark Thirty tomorrow. I'll be home late. Tiger is staying at Mom's so he'll be taken care of.

Okay have a good weekend everyone.

I didn't toss chunks on gas mask training but I did blow chunks on the day we did the endurance run, wall climb, etc. & stuff over water. We had K-Rations that day. I can still taste that disgusting taste when I think about it.

Norm - If you say so about the "fun" part, sounds kind of miserable. Hope you're not coming down with anything bad and that you feel better with a little R&R.

Despite my reservation, I ran to Walmart early to get frozen pizzas and something special for New Years Day. Momma and I haven't been out for New Year's Eve in several years because we don't enjoy fighting the crazies and the drunks. We'd rather enjoy a nice meal at home in the comfort of our home so I picked these up.

Hope ya'll have a great day!

I got to thinking (dangerous) about something. I might stop removing the flag from the holes while putting. Bacteria & viruses do survive in (some quite well) outdoor environments (even though UV kills most). None-the-less, there are MANY golfers handling flags all day long. Hmmm....something to consider, maybe.

You're right, something to think about. I've become much more conscientious about the presence of bugs since Covid. If I'm out in public and needing to touch things (like Walmart this morning) I'm cognizant to not touch my face, and as soon as I get back to the car I use sanitizer. Just stuff like that, that I never used to think about.

Dan - Thanks. I have no persistent headache & no persistent coughing. I have several COVID test kits. I'll wait until tomorrow to use one of them since I may not have enough SARS-CoV-2 antigen circulating in my body for the test kit to detect. I want to finish the Band of Brothers then move onto those two you mentioned which I think you said were follow-ups?

Norm, The Pacific is the first follow up, I only saw about 4 episodes before Comcast started charging for the Peacock streaming service. Masters of The Air won't air until 2024 on Apple+.

How’s that for demonstrating 50% accuracy of the Covid tests.

Several different manufacturers of the kits, without confirmation of the kit manufacturer you can't really say with a great deal of accuracy. I noted the FDA extended the expiration date for at least two test kit manufacturers - most likely to get rid of stock; hopefully they provided thorough testing to extend the expiration. No one could afford a PCR device to test and no one would understand a PCR test for COVID which is 100% accurate. That's why they send nasal swabs to a testing facility. Hell, I doubt most M.D.s can tell you what PCR even stands for let alone explain it.

That's how it was confirmed for me even though my home test was negative a couple of days before. Realistically I could have been negative when I tested at home, as it was two days later when I really started feeling it with chills and fever.
