Happy Sunday afternoon peoples,
Sounds like most of you have the same weather as us. Cow been here all night and brought her friends wit de 'splosives
Scot - you are so right. I'm glad you were able to stay strong; still that's not easy. 22 is way too young.
Udo - except for the license plates I wouldn't be able to tell that's in Deutschland. BTW, the coffee and beer in Canada is way stronger than US. So you should visit here too. The East coast of Canada also has some wicked stuff called "Newfie Screech". Have a great flight.
John - glad you didn't get caught with the Starfire in that drenching. All that talk about Menchies made me hungry....
Mike - 'Guys' is a unisex term in today's society. Only terms like "man" and "woman" have been replaced with 'Person'. ChairPERSON, SalesPERSON, etc. I think it gets carried too far at times. One of de 'wimmen' dat I trained decided she would change the 'legally defined term = Motorman' to Motorperson, then she was accepted as a Controller and after her training she became NOT and Inspector, but an InspecTRESS. And people put up with that crap. I don't get it.
Sandy - hope you and Teepo had fun. Ya know I was jess kiddin you bout dat amount of cleanup. BTW, ya missed a spot on de tires - ya gots to go right to the edge of de trim ring wit dat tire pretty uppier.
Jamesbo - you got all dem Roamens fed? All Hail Jamesbo! Glad you could hep out for doze troops.
Clint - Is your daughter absolutely fixed on Subaru?? There's lots of other good cars out there. Did she check out resale values? Prolly. I'm just a bit biased, but take a look at some of the newer Hyundai models. They take a real beating on depreciation the first few years which makes them really affordable on the used market. And they have a great warranty. I'm really happy with my Sonata. Wish I'd bought one sooner. And....it's made in America. Anyway, good luck with your/her search.
Have a great afternoon!

I think every kid's first car should be something with a Slant 6. Can't kill them, easy to work on, won't win any races. Teaches a little humility as well. Of course, if you can't get past a starter that sounds like a hyena doing the Hustle, then a first gen Saturn is a good runner up. But when the kid's dad is a mechanic, well.....
Went to look at a 76 Cutlass today. Surprisingly rust free body, interior toast. Battery was dead so he couldn't start it. Quite by accident found the same car for sale two weeks ago for 900, this guy said repeatedly he was just selling it for what he bought it for, 1200. And he kept saying, it's a 1200 dollar Cutlass. Also found out he's a bit of a fast one in the Jeep crowd. A 900 car maybe, 1200, nah.
Still off and on rain. And humid! The yard is a muddy mess. I hope it clears up so I can go to Summit tomorrow night.
Think I'll cuddle up with a MASH marathon tonight. Hope everyone has a good evening and a good start to their week.

Your Prayers worked
Evening peoples!
It is a great evening. First I want to say THANK YOU ALL for your prayers for my friend Ted. They worked. He phoned me from home today. They put in a stent and did some tests. Gave him some prescriptions to fill and sent him home. Course he's not allowed to do much for 6 weeks, but he says he feels great and is happy to be alive.
I asked him if he was scared during the whole thing and he said no. So I told him that he scared the absolute hell out of his friends and family so much that we don't need to go to church anymore!!
I'm so relieved you can't imagine. Gonna go see him tomorrow or Tues, soon as he's ready for company. Best part - Doc said he's allowed to have 2 5oz glasses of wine every day to help thin his blood. I'll help him with that.
Thanks again for all your support.

Evening All!
What an absolute gorgeous weekend we had here!! Today was 95 degrees and sun!! It was awful hot at the show today.... We're supposed to get some cow on a flat rock coming in tomorrow night and Tuesday.
We got 3rd place today at the BOP. I'm happy, considering the competiton in our class. It was just the opposite of last year, lol. This year I was third, Carl was second, and unfriendly chicky poo was first - with her clone of Teepo.
I should be flattered that she cloned my car, lol. That's another story.....
I'll be posting pics in another thread. Bob and his dad were there, but didn't bring any cars. They just came to look at the swap meet stuff. I saw Kurt (wmachine) and talked to him a minute. Not near as many cars as previous years.
None of the big old Oldsmobiles were there. There's usually a row or two of the 50's cars. I don't know. Not many of us liked it being held at Solon this year.
Nicole came over this evening after I got home and ate supper with us and we all watched a movie.
Larry offered her paid training to go to the shop on Saturday mornings when his girl who does his books/billing/accounting comes in. Seems her and her husband might be moving out of state within the year, and he offered Nicole the job if they do move, and said he would pay her to train for it. So she is all excited about it! Maybe there is hope for her and Larry after all these years. It sure would be nice. I also gave her a couple help wanted ads out of the paper.
Allan R..... I didn't dress the tires, Bobs guys did, and I saw that there were some places missed. As **** as I am about the car, I wouldn't have missed anything, lol.
Scot.... I am so sorry to hear about your nephew. What a tragedy! There were 5 high school kids killed here in Brunswick week before last. All due to graduate last week.
Instead, they had funerals last week and the last one yesterday. The youngest was a 16 yr old girl. Just tragic. All in one car, and the kid driving hit some RR tracks a little too fast, went airborne, and lost control. I feel so bad for the families.
Jamesbo.... glad you survived the weekend, lol. And Mosby too.
So.... the friggin deer got in my little garden.
Ate the tops off of all the mater plants, ate one of the pepper plants, which had tiny peppers on it, ate some of my green bean plants. Larry made a 'frame' out of pvc pipes yesterday and covered it with bird netting, and put it around my little garden. Kinda like calling the fire dept. after the house burned down, lol. At least I still have little maters on the plants, and blooms. They also ate several of the hostas and a few lilly buds. Bastards.......
Well gonna download the pics and check out the other forums, so I'll talk to ya tomorrow. Have a good night!

Hey Everyone.
I've been busy lately. Worked on the Cutlass today, went to a nice car show yesterday with a group of people.
I find that the last couple of weeks, with work and working on the Cutlass, I just fall behind with this thread.
Scot, I am sorry to hear about your nephew.
Allan, glad to hear your friend is doing better now.
I'll try to keep up a bit better.
Have a good week everyone.

Jamesbo, Them thar are just hills, Come on over and I'll show you mountains.
Congrats on the Placings this weekend Sandy.(I'm sure I'll get real tired of saying that this summer
)
Mike, I thought a short while about it, and I really don't want to sell her. So I never called him. I have a feeling I could really get attached to this one. And the missus really is fond of it too.
I have to disagree about winning races with a six.
A buddy of mine in high school had a Maverick grabber with a H.O. 200 L6 and he actually won our 'High school Drags' with a consistent time of 22 seconds in the 1/4.
He really helped our school get a scholarship from the local auto mechanics school.
Scot, My condolences about your nephew.Terrible thing to have to go thru. I'm Sorry.
John, Glad to hear you missed the rain in the SF. I find it almost impossible to believe you've never used your wipers down there.
Almost seems like you'd need them when it isn't raining with the humidity you all have.
Paul my mailbox still doesnt have any colour pics of that post
.
Allan, Glad to hear your buddy is dong better. I hope his condition continues to approve.
We went to the MX track yesterday and got a little riding in. My quad had a bracket break, so that shortenend my day, but the missus sure did toole around on her little dirtbike. She is starting to get more confident on that thing. The kid and he BF broke it off Sat. night. We could see it coming, but the missus and I sure liked the kid. well, I spose I should get my turds in a pile(or poop in a group) and get something done today.
Have a great one, all.

Morning All!
Cloudy and muggy here this morning, temps in the 70's now. The cow is fixin to pass over our area today. We need it.
Not a lot goin on. Quiet in here this morning.
I am off tomorrow for that scope procedure surgery.
I really don't want to have it. I think they should leave well enough alone. But I've come this far and paid so much money along the way. I'd hate to have to start all over in a year or two if I start having problems..... They're supposed to call me today and let me know what time to be there. I guess they are always changing the schedule.
Paul... glad you're getting work done on the Cutlass! I have to check out your thread.
Well have a good day all!

Cow + Flat Rock ere.... We need it so i ain't complaining.
Hopefully you'll stay dry up there Jamesbo, good luck with whitey
Sandy you have outdone yourself again with the great pics
That's pretty impressive to place with all of those great looking A-bodies near Teepo.
Thanks Clint and Paul for the condolences, I don't want to go through that ever again. I pretty much raised him since his DNA donor has never been in the picture and my sister has been in and out of jail/rehab since he was about 10. For those that saw the video with the coupe at the drags, that was him videoing it and having the time of his life. The car was running pretty crappy but we managed to make the most out of it anyway
I miss him dearly. http://youtu.be/oT6gNzRLSD0
Well I better get something to eat and get ready for work this evening. Yall have a great Monday

Thanks, Scot!
I saw some of those little model cars sitting on air cleaners, too.
I made another new thread of pics of Bob's dads 442 he brought over to the house last Thursday. That car sure looked good on me, lol!
Larry didn't like the black marks Bob's dad left on the street in front of the house, lol...... I did!

Mawnin all,
Not much new up here, de cow has been sticking around for the last few days. Says she's going to visit somewhere else tomorrow but is coming back to bless us with her presence again after that. Don't mind it so terribly if only the sun would come out for at least a day or so.
Talked with Dan (oldsguy) this am. He's doing well. Says Jesse (land yacht president) is well but inundated with work. May be changing jobs soon. Wished them well. Hope he finds time to come back and visit us. His last post was a looonnnng time ago.
Scot - sent a guy your contact info - he's looking for some articles from 'old car magazines' and I wasn't sure if you can help him. I know you have a 'few' of them hanging around....
Jamesbo - whack, splash! whack, splash! and dat's not de water hazard traps neither.... you got bugs down der at de course? Dem pesky blood drillers are jes startin to come out up here wit all de cow has delivered
Paul - missed ya buddy. Have to check your thread for updates. I love when you post your progress.
Ken - you out there? how's your sidewalk coming along? I'm betting you now have a moat protecting your house.....

Hey everyone.
Haven't done much today, but it ended up being a nice day. The Summit cruise was canceled anyway, because they thought it 'might' rain. Did get a few errands run.
Clint I'm glad you're keeping the 442. And I never said you couldn't win a race with a six, just a Slant 6. Although with enough money anything can be quick.
Sandy I wanted to comment on your other posts today but the site for me has been terribly slow today. Your friend Bob's car is awesome. Tell Larry the black stripes are a badge of honor. Maybe you could put down some of Teepo's to match. Also, I'm glad Larry and Nicole continue to get along. I hope they both continue to work at it, things will be so much easier. And I hope Nicole can leave Charlie in the dust. Good luck with the surgery tomorrow.
Jamesbo I'm glad you survived the weekend. How much fun it is to see all your friends. I hope you don't wait another 50 years to see them again. I really only have a few close people, and I don't see them enough.
One more off and it starts with the Awful house. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Scot - I know. Remember when we were talking about that on the 'Special Order' thread? That's why I thought of you.....the site info that (you know who) referred him to on that other site was hocum. I went and looked and every one of the publications they claim to have has a red or yellow light beside it (meaning not available for download)
Doesn't do any good to advertise stuff that you don't have. Sort of like claiming to know all about Olds without having documentation huh? Whooooaaa, gotta reign this in...... the other peeps will hear it....

Good Evening Everyone.
Today was a nice sunny day... except for the heat and humidity. Today was the hottest day of the summer. The high was 32C (90F), but with the humidity it felt like 40C (104F). At the end of the day, I stepped out of the office building and the heat hit me. Wow, luckily it is going to cool off a little.
Clint, keep enjoying your car.
Sandy, I hope the procedure goes well.

Bless you all, sleep tight.

Next, is the whole street...
Ken - Well at least it'll be nice when all said and done. And the kids can ride their bikes without being in the road.
I think that downspout has seen better days in pic #4

On a lighter note... Was your car featured in Popular Hot Rodding or similar magazine around the late 70's? The reason I as is because I was browsing some old JWO issues that were from that era and someone wrote in about a feature in a magazine that a '76 Cutlass had a Ram Air hood and was asking if the hood was an option. Anyway what's the story on your hood? I mean is it a custom job or aftermarket? Enquiring minds want to know
I'd imagine you've answered that question some 20 million times, but somehow I've managed to miss it.

Played like a goat. I shouldn't gone out I was just whipped from de weekend.

Morning All!
Well I have to be at the hospital at 10:30.
The procedure will be at 12:30 they said. By that time I'll be a real bit*h, lol. I'm already hungry, and mad about having to go through this in the first place... I'm not a good patient.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I appreciate them!
Well they just called and I have to leave now! So I'll talk to ya later. Send good thoughts my way.... love ya!

Well the cow must be tired from standin' and the rock must be 'bout wore thru, but da rain she keeps a'comin'. No end in sight; rained for hours during the night and with the metal roof, you always know it!
More on da' way.
Clint, the deal is that my Olds is really a museum piece!
I should be ashamed (I'm not); but I hardly ever drive it. When I first got it, I wanted to take the wiper arms off to just test the miserable motor and see the linkage in action and grease it up a bit; but I couldn't get the blasted things off.... so I just put new refills on 'er and hoped never to get caught in the rain!
Next time I wash her (not an everyday occurrence), I might try and use the wipers whilst hosing the windshield. I'm never surprised at whatever I find in that car.... even though I love her now, the guy I bought her from was a piece of work. As some of you might recall, there was no air filter element in the canister when I got her, just for starters.
Allan, not sure we'll go back to Menchies, but I gotta' say, it was good stuff. There's a frozen custard place a bit down the road in Hammond and it's got a bit more elbow room; it's just not quite as trendy as Menchies, but then neither am I ....
James, watched an episode of American Muscle Car (2003?) on Netflix last nite... it was the episode called The Hurst Cars... was VERY enjoyable.... gave full context of George Hurst's founding of the company (Hurst-Campbell originally.... and I had no idea he invented the "Jaws of Life"), all the way into the present. Good vintage drag (Hemi Under Glass, Hairy Olds) and land-speed-record (Goldenrod) clips from the 60s. Of course, besides the HOs, also had the '70 Chrysler 300 Hurst w/440 TNT, which was always one of my faves. We're addicted to Netflix.
Y'all have a great day, and somebody put a cork in that cow....

Good Mawnin All
Beautimus day ere with a chance of t-storms later this evening. High's in the mid to upper 80's and humid.
Sandy we are sending our thoughts and prayers up your way
I hope everything goes well.
Harrison Phord
is in Macon this week filming the movie "42" a Jackie Robinson biopic. They have some neat 40's era cars lining the streets of old downtown and surrounding neighborhoods
Here is a slideshow http://www.13wmaz.com/news/photo-gal...storyid=184144
Jamesbo how far are you away from Winder? My Grandfather (on my Mother's side) is up there and he isn't doing too well. He is not the one that loved Oldsmobile's but both of my Grandfather's were in the 2nd World War and were born in 1924. The other one passed in 2001 due to a massive stroke that left him pretty much incapacitated. Anywho he did a great deal over there during his tour, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge, climbed trees in occupied France to run communication cable
D-Day and so on and so forth. I have a paper that describes his tour around here somewhere
I may try to get up that way in the next couple of weeks to see him but with work and Father's Day already planned to go the opposite direction, I may be too late.
He will be buried here next to my Granny as this was his home since the late 40's. 80% of his side of the family is out Clint's way in Colorado (Montrose, Gunnison & Longmont)
Well yall have a good Tuesday afternoon

Happy Tuesday afternoon all.
Sandy, I hope it all went well. I'm in a foul mood, but the only thing that is making it a good day is my 4-3-2 is now a 4-4-2. The tranny is in, its all wired up for the converter all I'm waiting for is the new driveshaft.

Have a day.
Good evening everyone.
Yes it's true, I try to keep a tight schedule at the Awful house. I can't be without my scattered and smothered.
Clint I'm sorry you're in a funk. Just gaze upon that beautiful car and you should be fine. See, if you had a Slant 6 you could go out and beat on it a little, and not kill it and it would make you smile.
Sandy I hope your day went well and the doctor will have good news for you.
Scot those were some cool pictures of the old timey town. I think the Dodge should have been front and center. Awful sorry about your Granddad. I hope he can hold out long enough for you to see him again.
Ken the sidewalk looks nice. My neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks, which is probably a good thing because then the locals would be driving on them.
The rain has bypassed us this evening. I don't mind. I don't think we're supposed to get any more for a few days, which will give my yard(and the dogs) a chance to dry out. I would love to have an inside yard for the dogs so they could go "out" and still be in. Hm, like astro turf.
Gonna stay up late tonight, so I can sleep in tomorrow. The dogs will actually get me up at 7am, but I'll go back to sleep. If I can sleep till about 1 or so, I do okay at work.
Hope everyone has a good evening and a great hump day.

Evening All
I have never hurt soooooo bad in my life. Never. This is worse than labor pains, childbirth, gas, cramps multiplied by a hundred million gazillion times, all rolled together. It brought me to tears around 6.
I would think it should be letting up by now but it ain't. Most of the pain is in the front right down around the pelvis bone. But now my back is hurting too.
Yep.... all this for nothing.
I knew it. I'm kicking myself in the *** now for having it done. No tumors no blockage no stentnput in. Guess is, I was born with a funky kidney.
The doc was gone when I woke up. The nurse said he talked to me but I don't remember. He talked to Larry.
I have my heating pad on, from my stomach to my back. I took one oxycodene at 6. I took one pill that's supposed to help the burning when I pee. Haven't taken the antibiotics yet.
I'm peeing blood and blood clots, and it burns and hurts so bad. Sorry that's gross....
If I make it thrum the night I'll be happy. I don't think I'll be working tomorrow.
Night all.

Morning All!
I'm still alive, but barely... I had Larry call me off this morning. I'm sure they guys won't like it, but oh well.
It's nice and sunny here this morning. Temps in the 50's right now. The humidity broke and is gone. I gotta be careful with this one medicine - says limit sun exposure. I don't like that.
I was nauseous this morning. Had some dry heaves, which was lovely, and finally got a little bile crap up. I still have on the anti nausea patch they put on me yesterday. Said it's good for 3 days. Needless to say, it ain't working, lol. God I hate to throw up.
I ate some toast earlier. I didn't eat anything last evening. We stopped at Bob Evans on the way home from the hospital yesterday, and that's all I ate yesterday. Just wasn't hungry. Pills and water are all I had in me. I took a pain pill at 4 am, and just took the first antibiotic pill.
Larry went to work, so Nicole is with me today. She came late last night.
Jamesbo... I know that medicine is addicting. I'm trying not to take much. He only gave me 20 pills.
Well I hope you all have a good hump day, once you get up and about!!

Good Wednesday Mawning Peoples.
Yesterday was really nice (75) with clear blue skies. Beautiful day! Then around 8:00 de cow jetted back in to do her stuff for about an hour.
This mawnin it's beautiful. We have same gorgeous skies....WAIT!!!! De sun is shining and blue skies and there was just a clap of thunder??? WTH??? Jess looked to de West - one big *** black cloud and I mean uuuggggleeeee cloud just showed up. Feel like Joe Bitifix sometimes. Would be nice to get away from de rain a bit.
Gonna take the car back to the shop that balanced the tires tommorrow. They still don't feel right on the highway. Vibrations at 50-70mph. Don't think they got the balancing quite right.
Sandy - I was afraid this would be de case. Hope your system returns to normal fast. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. If you want me to come and exercise Teepo whilst you're laid up, I can do that....Try crackers and flat ginger ale for your tummy. Always seems to work when I feel like the heaves coming on.
Clint - That car looks drop dead gorgeous. Obviously hiding it in your shop at work. Good luck with the driveshaft. Imagine you can hardly wait to test drive.
Jamesbo - stop it wit de food tok. Ya makes me wanna put some barn burner chee lay opshuns together..Hmmm, scrambled eggs wit hot sauce and hall a pee nyo's. mmmmm, wit a stack and glass of choklit milk!!
Ken - by the looks of it, you should be driving back into your yard in the next little while. Shoulda had them fix that last slab of your driveway at the same time!

Good Afternoon Mawnin People
Just got done catching up on yard WORK
after leaving it be for mourning and all. D@mn it is HOT and HUMID ere.
Sandy I hope you get to feeling better soon. Good thing there was no blockages or anything, I guess it's best to be safe.
Clint that '67 is beautiful
I usually don't like red because everyone and their brother has a car they chose to paint red but it looks great on yours.
Ken same thing happened to my mailbox and both kids and the wife says they didn't do it, but the sideview mirror and hood on the Tahoe says different

Mike they are going all out with this movie up in Macon. Here is an article from 13wmaz.com today
" "42" tells the story of how Jackie Robinson broke baseball's color barrier in 1947. Parts of Macon are standing in for Daytona Beach; Sanford, Fla.; Brooklyn, N.Y. and possibly other locations. Wednesday morning, crews were busy turning a stretch of Second Street businesses into a Brooklyn streetscene. Jennoelly's Pizza became a barber shop and Sid's Sandwich Shop a hardware."
Sounds interesting but I'll wait until it comes out on DVD before I see it. i just can't see paying $50 for 4 of us to go see a movie, snack on popcorn and have something to wash it down with when I can do all of this in the comfort of home for less than $15 and not have some heckling kids ruin the movie just because they don't like it.
It's all good though, the theater experience is a good thing don't get me wrong it's just not for me anymore.
Jamesbo I pronounce it 'Whine-der" since all of my spoiled cousins are up 'ere.
Yall have a great day, ya hear?

Turning into the normal nice but windy afternoon/evening.
Ken - That looks much better. How far up the drive did they go? You got a good bunch working there. In the city they would prolly have told ya ta pound sand.....
ah - the sound of weed wackers and lawnmowers beckons from de puter room winder. An you says dat wind (as in da WIND is blowin) and der as in der. Kind of a day for not wantin to do much....
The Mrs. is cleanin the pantry. "Re-organizing' she calls it. Prolly take her all night. She stocks up on most things in anticipation of WWIII. If we had a cow and chickens? We'd have enough stocked to last prolly a few months without touching the food marts.

Scot - Ken's hood is a VFN. aftermarket, but sure looks good doesn't it?
Ken actually let me touch it and even open/close it
. It's a sweet ride up close and in person too. He still has the original hood.
