Kenneth - Those temps are really not as warm as our July/August temps which are almost always 90 - 95, and can easily hit triple digits, but are incredibly hot compared to our temps this time of year! I have really loved every pleasure trip I have ever taken to Arizona, but never realized even the early Spring and late Fall temps stayed that high. I would still like to have a 1 bedroom Casita there to go to 3-months (Jan.-March) out of the year, but I'm sure the prices are out of my league now. My Aunt and Uncle in Green Valley tried to sell me one 15-years ago that they had been renting, and were going to give me a deal, but I was still working and wouldn’t have been able to use it much. Plus, after putting my girls thru college, and a divorce, even with "a deal" it would have been hard to swing financially. Wish I could buy one now for what they were offering that one for, but that ain't happening!

Things started moving along and by the end of the day I still had 26 wheels signed off, which is close to where I'd have been anyway. Don't know what everyone else did but we ended with 100 at 2pm.

So I guess I need to read up on what Richard does, that might be a nice option to something far away instead of a round trip or flying out and driving back. I never had any connection with him, but I do remember him. I do need to retrieve a Volkswagen from Pennsylvania, but I'm not sure the car is worth what it would cost to deliver it. Although it might be worth not driving 12 hours each way.

Well I get to relax tonight. No rush trips to the hospital, no cruise in. Just watching MASH and eating ice cream.

Good luck Chris tomorrow. Hope eveyone has a good evening.

Chris, pulling for your wife, wishing that all goes well. Apparently this site doesn't like when I copy and paste from google photos, I can see the pic no problem. I'll do a quick one photo link, and try to get a pic from Pere Marquette beach this afternoon, as it was a bit blustery.

These are from about 500yds away, hand held from my car, rain & wind. A bit grainy due to high ISO (3200), along with water getting on my lens. https://photos.app.goo.gl/pkrRULouR54wBrQ77

Dan - Thanks for the well wishes for my wife, much appreciated! That is a beautiful photograph! Is that a railroad bridge in the pic? In any case, a cool old bridge in a beautiful setting.

I was surprised to see the temps in parts of the south, 25° in Tennesee, 10° colder than it was here this morning. All from a big system blasting us and the southern states. Sunday & Monday we will have temps in the upper 60's to 70° Wild weather.

Yes Chris, it is. I'm standing on what was once a single lane bridge converted to a public walkway. Went across it many times in my youth, with the clunking of the wooden planks under the car tires.

Jeff - It would be my misfortune if the plastic drain plug was of a type which was non-removable (e.g. cemented into the threaded metal by kryptonite). Not broke, not getting fixed.

Dan - Yes we're catching a blast of cold air along the NC coast from the large North Atlantic Ocean rotation off Nova Scotia West through Canada, Southward into Tennessee, Eastward through NC and back into the Atlantic Ocean. Dipping down to 33°F - 35°F tonight.

Dan - That's very cool! We have a very pretty old covered bridge near our house that is now a historic landmark. After the greeting line at our wedding, we were chauffeured in my friend's 30's Model Ford custom hotrod (think I posted a pic once) out to the covered bridge to take some pics there before going on to the reception. They are my favorites of our wedding pictures. It is a very cool place to get pictures. When I get a chance I'll see if I can dig a couple up and post them

My buddy and I were talking about NASCAR history at the car show on Sunday, and I asked him if he knew that Lee Petty had won the 1st Daytona 500 (1959) in an Oldsmobile, and that Richard had driven an Oldsmobile convertible in the same race. He didn't have a clue. Here's a couple pics of their cars that were driven in that 1st Daytona 500.

Let us know how things went with surgery, Chris. (After you have time, of course.) I am very confident she will come out great. Now that I am thinking about it I think this may be a similar surgery that my daughter in law had a year ago or so. All went well and she is much better now that she was before surgery. Modern medicine is really somethin !

Thanks to all who have offered your prayers and well wishes for my wife Dawn they are much appreciated! She is in surgery right now, and I'm killing time in a waiting room that's like an icebox. I had to run back to my car to get my coat it's so cold in here. It will be awhile because there will be two different surgeons working on different but adjacent areas. I will let you all know how things went when I get a chance. She is supposed to be able to come home this afternoon, unless something changes or unforeseen occurs. Thanks again guys!!!

Well FINALLY the temperature has dropped below 90 and it's convertible weather again!

I drove the Cutlass to work today and parked in the "old car" section.

That's such a good looking car, Kenneth. My 1967 4-4-2 (2 dr. coupe) was nearly the same color - copper of some type - I believe just a tinge lighter than your color.
They have an "old car" parking section where you work? That's pretty cool.

Hi everyone.

Been a busy day. The computers have been behaving and we've had a steady stream of wheels. We should finish up here in the next little bit.

Kenneth you can't beat a convertible. Love the Cutlass in gold. I think we've seen that Bus before.

Gotta rush home to take Mom to the doctor. I left Tiger at her house last night, or he would have been by himself quite a bit longer into the afternoon and that was no good. I'll go right to Mom's house and then go to the doctor. They made her appointment for 3, after I told them we couldn't get there until 4. How about 3:10? I said 330. She said be sure you're no later than 330. You really need to come in earlier. I almost lost it. It is their job to be there for us. Poor. Poor attitude on their part.

Anyway slept undisturbed last night. It was nice, but I felt guilty. Eh, Tiger will be home with me tonight where he belongs.

Okay we're on the home stretch. Have a good afternoon everyone.

Norm, the color is Saturn Gold. I think it was called different names in other years and other GM divisions.

It's not really a designated old car area, it's just where the bus drivers usually park and the Mustang driver parked nearby. He usually parks on the other side of the lot but today he parked near the bus, so I parked there, too, and with three old cars there it became the "old car parking area".

Mike,
Yeah, I made sure to get the bus in the picture just for you.

Good afternoon guys,

We got home about an hour ago and my wife's resting comfortably, sleeping on the reclining couch with the pups. She's completely worn out from lack of sleep, and having to go without any solid food yesterday as part of the surgery prep. All good news to report from both surgeons! 👍
In each of their respective anatomical areas, both surgeons reported the pre-cancerous lesions were not as thick as originally thought and were able to be removed by laser burning, and only a couple small areas actually had to be cut out. This is great news, because it means her recovery will be much less painful and quicker. Also, unless something changes in the pre-determined pathology as being only pre-cancerous, there won't be any need for any follow-up radiation or chemo. As long as they got all the spots, she should be good to go with close monitoring in the future. Thanks for all the prayers, they were answered!

Thanks guys, we're ecstatic about all the feedback we've got back so far. We're both looking forward to many days and nights without so much worry! Failed to mention in the original post about how things went, that our neighbors made us a big pot of beef stew, a pan of cornbread, and some dessert and brought it over when we got home. Dawn's famished after not eating all day yesterday, and me, well I'm always hungry, so their kindness was much appreciated.

Chris,

Since you didn't ax, I'll give you some unsolicited advice. It's been a stressful time. Take care of your self . Your beautiful bride [and the pups] needs you in tip top shape to look after her during her recovery

Have not been here for a while , and hope your wife Dawn is doing fine after the surgeary Chris.
This cancer is really a s&it thing , we had a funeral for a family member a couple weeks ago , he
got tumours in the brain and there was nothing to do. It,s a reminder that life is fragile and our
health is the most important thing we have .

Ken,s colour Saturn Gold looks just awesome , have always liked the Cutlass and this would probaly
fit our garage better than the 98 Helped my brother yesterday to "drive" his Newport -66 into the
new garage for the first time , he was very satisfied to se the Chrysler in the garage So he need
to remove the 727 trans for a rebuild , 383 engine runs very fine.

Hi everyone.

Busy day but we'll finish up. Can't remember a day when we've had so many people here at once.

Glenn that's sure a tough one. Cancer is definitely unrelenting, that's for sure. Glad the Chrysler has a new home. I'm a closet MOPAR guy. Closet nothing, come to my house and see all my Valiants.

Nice out but chilly. It was in the 30s this morning, had a little frost on the car. Supposed to warm up next week, so it isn't quite time to work on the big trucks(with the bazillion wasps under the dash).

Okay we're in the home stretch. One more to go. No word as yet about working Saturday, so I'm guessing we aren't.

Glenn and Greg - Thanks so much for the kind words about Dawn. We are both experiencing a great deal of relief based on how the surgery went yesterday!

Jim - That history on Stepin Fetchit was interesting! I had no idea there was actually an actor who had portrayed that onscreen persona!
