With all this talk about good food I was getting really hungry. Luckily, we were sitting down to dinner soon. We took immediate advantage of the haul from Sam's today. My wife broiled a couple of really nice thick ribeyes, and made some fresh green beans with bacon and white cheddar pasta as side dishes. Best homemade dinner we've had in awhile!
Well guess what I'm here. Got the bed drained this afternoon but it took longer than I thought so it isn't taken apart. So couch surfing for me tonight. I did get some puttering around done while I was waiting. I made the mistake of stomping on soda cans with my bad foot(leg/hip/whatever) and have caused myself lotso pain. Eh, I'm done doing work tonight anyway.
Norm you rotate your golf *****? What does that mean they were in the queue? Kind of like the taxi's at the airport.
Seems we missed out on the second storm this afternoon. It was raining like a mother when I was at the Awful house, but then cleared up a little and just stayed cloudy all afternoon. We were supposed to get more rain, wind, hail, what have you but luckily we didn't. Hope it don't come tonight. I did notice that all that wind we had last week blew all the pine needles and branches off the garage roof.
Keith that Rambler looks like a nice car. I could never drive it. I'd be honking the horn all the time and speeding.
Well I've got a couple things to put away and then I think I'll hit the sack. Need to get the bed taken care of tomorrow and finish up the painting. And, and, and...

Mike - Yeah, I already had a 1/2 dozen ProV1 golf ***** in my golf bag (several I was already playing) ready and waiting to be used; albeit, they were "queued" up. Also, I do rotate my golf ***** based upon blemishes I've inflicted upon them - dead hooks/shanks into an oak tree, ***** which have fallen from 100' feet in the air onto the concrete golf cart path, a ball which I may have seriously "bladed", etc.
We get all of our 1'x2' flat granite markers from elberton ga. " the granite capital of the world "
Lately their email says " do to global supply issues "........orders will be late arriving
wtf is " global " about granite from the same town where the quarries are located?

Jim - I'm just guessing, but maybe it's just a generic statement inserted to CYA themselves in regard to any of their items that are being shipped outside of the local area. The potential shipping delay being caused by the current shortage of truck drivers?
James - If any entity located at any distance outside of Georgia (we'll say) is willing to pay (let's say) ten to twenty times the amount for the same piece of granite shipped inside Georgia, they have a global supply issue.

We couldn't have asked for a nicer day here in the Greater Stockbridge Area. Blue sky and sun, nice warm temperature, just glorious. We never did get that rain last night, which I'm glad of.
So it took me all day to get my bed set up and it still isn't filled. The plywood deck is rather warped, and the side rails don't sit down very well. I'm hoping once it is full the plywood will flatten out a little. If it doesn't then I might have to do something different. Like build a new plywood deck. So it's couch surfing yet again. At least I got a pillow tonight.
Jamesbo things like that make no sense to me. They probably make their granite pieces here and send them elsewhere, and then buy granite from abroad. That's like Delta. We bought an oil refinery and our price for fuel went spiraling down. So what do we do? Sell the fuel to someone else and then buy fuel for the high price. All I can figure is it's an accounting trick.
Keith I've always liked the 60s Ramblers. My parents bought a 59 Rambler Super in 1961 and drove it from Moline, IL to Alameda, CA. And I assume back again a couple years later. I have pictures of the car but can't recall what became of it. My Mom said it was good on gas but they'd have to almost fill the oil every time they stopped.
Tomorrow is going to be a good test. After we get back from the Awful house I'm going to the grocery store, so Tiger will be here by himself for an hour or so. If he doesn't completely freak out and rip up the place then he'll be okay when I go to work on Monday. He's been here quite a bit so it's not exactly a strange place to him.
Well I'm beat. Tomorrow starts the race against the clock. I know once my sister gets here she will have a fit about everything that isn't done. Which, oddly enough, will make my Mom not care as much. Eh, I'm not going to stress over it. Yes I will.
Peace

Spring cleaning for me each year takes on varied activities. I've renovated/updated perhaps 90% of the home in the past 20 years; yet, the double-hung windows all needed attention and it's obviously quite a job to remove windows and rebuild them. Some require rebuilding, some do not. The one thing about the windows is they do have what we referred to in the Great White North as storm windows - upper/lower glass with a screen exterior to the home's double-hung windows. So, it was a good thing the previous owners installed these whenever they did. However, they never really took much care to them. I recall growing up in the Great White North we'd remove all the storm windows and scrub them all every year. It took our family two days to remove them, clean them & reinstall. I'd say I have about 1/2 of the windows in this home completely finished, but the windows in the one guest bedroom I'm working on now requires removal of a wooden counterweight double-hung window and rebuilding/shoring up one of the dovetailed tongue & groove corners. Just need to take my time and be methodical about it. The weather has been delicious lately.
Jim - Don't you dare give up. It sounds absolutely delicious. I thought about it a couple weeks ago and for some reason I had a mental moment (or several) and forgot to follow up on my thought. Oh I remember what it was now. The seafood joint where I generally buy my seafood was closed - it was a Sunday; so, the stuffed avocado drifted out of mind. I'll get to it honestly - don't give up on me.
Question
My old media blaster is about shot. The top [lens] is very scratched up. A dear [departed] friend of mine gave it to me and I'd like to figure out how to save it. Donny says, He gets replacement Gator windshields in all the time and "We" [meaning he] could cut an old busted one up to fit the size of the blasting cabinet. It came with some kinda of thick [for lack of a better word] Sharan Wrap under the lid to protect the top from getting so scratched up . What ever it is, it [to me] resembles the "protective stick on shield" You put over your I phone. Do any of yous guys know where i could purchase this "Stuff"

Jim - I believe the item you are referring to is a Polyester tape - it could be a Polycarbonate, not completely certain, but I think it's a Polyester tape. It's very similar to the material they use to tint glass, except it's the invisible/clear variety. I'm pretty sure it's about the same as they use on packaging for clear plastic devices such as phones, monitors, other pieces of clear plastic. See the link below.
I might suggest you find an automobile/car windshield/glass tinting dealer - they may have some in stock and can cut you what you need.

It might be a "film" instead. I'm not certain, but if you dig deeper into that link I sent to you I believe you may find what you're looking for.
OK. One more side to apply window glaze and I'm done w/ window glazing for the day.

Jim - Could be an acrylic. That stuff is very strong and very clear. They sell some in sheets of various thicknesses....

Boy am I beat. The phone says I took over 8000 steps. That's four miles. Still no bed.
Short week for me and I have everything I'll need over here. I think Tiger will be fine while I'm at work. I was gone this afternoon for a couple hours and when I got back he came to the door and yawned and stretched, so I know he was napping and not bothered. I did bring over his house this afternoon and will set it up, so if he has some anxiety he can go in there.
Greg praise God everything turned out alright. I pray that remains the case.
A quick call to my Mom and then it's lights out for me. It was another spectacular day. I don't care what anybody says tomorrow is the first day of Spring. Welcome.

Blah day of golf...I used the new ProV1 ***** Jim sent to me.
My (Our=foursome) 1st shotgun tee-off hole was a Par 3 (Hole #12)...113 yds. to the pin over a lake. I was the first to tee-off. I put my first CCC Carpe Diem shot into the lake.
Very windy play today w/ a brisk 20mph - 25mph wind all day. The temperature did not reach the expected/forecast temperature - it hovered ~53°F. The group I played w/ were a good bunch of guys. This is the first year I've played w/ this (new-to-me) group. My game eventually came around but what a bugaboo start. This new-to-me group will add ~16-17 new courses I normally would not play this summer>fall; so, I'm looking forward to playing more variety.
The CS convertible clock arrived today. I think I'll install it tonight. I placed the double-hung window w/ new window glaze into the sun & wind before I left this morning and it's drying nicely. It often takes a minimum of ~1 week before window glaze sets enough to paint. If the weather remains as it has been I might be able to paint it Wed or Th. Paint is being applied to the exterior of the window, the interior side of the window gets a mahogany or pecan stain + lacquer.
