I'm not always a cover tune fan but, since I am a Etta James fan a Buddy Guy fan and a Jeff beck fan this was perfect.
Beth Hart flat out nailed this one !! the only one to do it better was Etta herself.

So many of the British guitarists that were just incomparable. I love Jeff Beck. Here's one that a lot of people forget, Ronnie Montrose. The stuff he did with Sammy and then when he formed Gamma. Nobody knows this song, but to me, this is where Ronnie Montrose shines.

I've watched that previously via YouTube. Good rendition and tribute. I've caught Buddy several times. The most notable was at a outdoor lounge/bar/restaurant around Lutz, FL where I was sitting in the sand and Buddy was playing 6' in front of me. Damn Right I've Got The Blues

OMG Ronnie Montrose. I never really listened to much of Montrose. That isn't to say I don't like Montrose - I just never really listened to a lot of the band. I think Ronnie Montrose is a great guitarist. But, yet another peculiar story ensues. I live directly across from Ocracoke Island, NC. I have to take a ferry ~2.5 hours to get to Ocracoke Island (think Cape Hatteras), which I have often done several times/year the past 20 years. Out of the blue I'm at my favorite small village Ocracoke Village restaurant Dajio and this guy is going to play that night because he lives on the Outer Banks and plays up and down the Outer Banks and I guess he knows literally everyone. This would be maybe 10 - 15 years ago and the guys name is Mojo Collins. Turns out Mojo formed the band called "Sawbuck" and the band Sawbuck moved to San Francisco and the first band Ronnie Montrose was in was Sawbuck. You never know who'll you see in the small little village bars & restaurants. I'll tell you, Mojo was a really, really cool dude.

Some mean 12-string guitar, taken from this filmclip:

There used to be a high definition version, out there somewhere. It'll take some digging. But, it still should be available:

I recall the uproar in the U.S. when it was announced they wouldn't be releasing Performance. If was finally released, of course & I thought it was a rather cool movie.

Early Robbie and the wonderful Levon Helm. Great stuff. I actually own a copy of The Music From Big Pink. Not the re-released version - the original version.

For a small change up Paul Thorn is a fun listen. You won't find many songwriter musicians who've gone up against Roberto Durán in the ring. He's not a household name, but he's opened for some great musicians.

Ah, the Band, brings back memories of younger days and fun times! Used to be a local garage band who would cover Cripple Creek, almost as good as the Band could do it.
Thanks for posting.

Rick Derringer's roots before "rock and roll hootchie-coo". But don't look. You'll regret it. Just close your eyes and listen. You've been warned. I cannot be responsible for any injuries sustained from watching this. Oh and not that I need to say it, but never mind the horrible match of music and video.

Time to ditch the political overtones and celebrate a birthday. Ray Wylie Hubbard 74 today. "Wanna Rock and Roll", "Bad Trick" and "Lucifer and the Fallen Angels" ought to do. Screw Nashvegas. He did.

I don't particularly care for either's recordings, individually. But, don't mind them doing this one together:

I first discovered Kim Wilde, while watching an early broadcast from San Remo, Italy. She used to look pretty hot, before she went out to go stuff her face:

Killian_Mörder My buddy stationed in Germany, turn me on to Kraftwerk Autobahn. Great on long trips! Or is this before your time?

That sounds like something right out of THX1138 or Blade Runner.

That was before my time here. I first heard it in the Detroit area, back when they first debuted that album.
How about some Kylie Minogue?

I think it was 1974. So ahead of its time! On American GI Armed Forces Network, big hit. I had to order it and waited like 6 weeks before it came in.

THX1138 was released in 1971. It was George Lucas' first movie - the culmination (essentially) of his (graduate) work at USC Film School. Not certain if you've seen, it is brilliant. It was his short work entitled Electronic Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB.

The soundtrack was written by Argentinian pianist composer Lalo Schifrin. Lalo produced the soundtracks/themes to Mission Impossible, Bullitt, Enter The Dragon, Dirty Harry, etc.
