Shouldn't 2 door post cars be called "post coupes" rather than sedans because coupe seems to always be used on cars with 2 doors? I have a Cutlass 4 door post which I would call a "sedan". I wish my 70 F-85 W-31 was restored, it would be a perfect candidate for this. It is fully documented and the only options it has is the anodized aluminum trim on the window posts(B90 I believe) and the W-27 rear. Also has an am radio. It is a rubber floor mat car, it's there and documented, manual steering, bench 4 speed. One of these years I will have to make it up to this show, always seems to be a very good one.

Where is it?

It looks like you already have the twelve you have decided is the desired number.

All I have is a humble unrestored 1966 W30, #24 out of 54. Poor thing came without radio or heater. Its only chrome option is the deluxe seat belt buckles, and they were required to order the factory shoulder belts. I found that at shows no one looks at it unless the hood is up. Do you have a restored 66 yet for your list? Over half of the 54 were club coupes (25) and sports coupes (5). My Rund car is a re-creation of a car that was a conversion to W30, as were all the racers in 1966, so neither it nor the original Rund car would be real enough for your purpose. Maybe that is why the February 1967 Hi-Performance cars article noted the UFO lettering that meant Unreal Flying Oldsmobile.

Too bad because in my eyes the 66 W30 is pretty close to the ultimate choice from Oldsmobile.

Dan
You forgot my 70 F-85 so I added it to the list. I am a member of 2doorpost.com but have not been on there for quite a while. All my cars need restoration, some need it badly! My F-85 W-31 is in the best shape but is stuck in the back of the shop so I have never taken good pics of it. I do plan on it though. I obviously like the post cars and apparently so do you.

About the sedan coupe thing. From what Diego posted, a post car would be considered a coupe if it retains the same roofline as the hardtop coupe. Our post cars have the same roofline as the same body and same year hardtops so by this definition they are coupes. Now I want to see the argument countering Diego's explanation of sedan/coupe differentiation and give the reason they are being called sedans.

On the other hand, this 2-door sedan has the same roofline as the hardtop:

This debate will never go away - so let`s move on - call them what you`d like :-)

IMO....a 2 door Post Sedan - is the more Muscular Looking body Style. Not for everyone....but definitely for ME!

I'll add my current post car since we're celebrating them in this thread:

What the heck - here's one I owned a decade ago - 350 4 barrel 3 speed stick Rallye Pack car. Loved it like it was, but a later owner cloned a Ram Rod to sell at Mecum. Wish I had kept that one.

68_lh_rear_uper_032805.jpg

And one more I owned from 2002-2004. Basic 2 barrel Jetaway car, in Willow Gold/Ivy Gold. That was a nice one too.

Terry, Nice 68's. I remember your green car. One of the reasons I was stoked to find my 68 F85. I sold it to fund some other things and to find a more solid car in the future.
