Vehicles needed for 2015 EyesOn Design Exhibition - June 21, 2015
Vehicles needed for 2015 EyesOn Design Automotive Design Exhibition
The 28th annual EyesOn Design show will be held at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, MI on June 21, 2015 (Father's Day)
I'm a new member on this forum and I am confident you can help me fill one of the 2015 Exhibit categories.
I have served in a variety of volunteer positions for several EyesOn Design shows and I am currently on the Vehicle Selection Committee.
As a member of the Vehicle Selection Committee, I am responsible for populating our "Pure Michigan" category.
This year, my category will feature vehicles manufactured in the city (and vicinity of) Lansing, Michigan.
I am looking for up to 20 vehicles to showcase the breadth of Lansing's automotive assembly history.
In particular, we would like to feature YOUR vehicle if it meets these requirements:
1. Original (or restored to original) appearance. Vehicle MUST have OEM style wheels, tires and interior.
2. Vehicle manufactured/assembled in or near Lansing, Michigan
3. Owner/caretaker to be present throughout the day of the show
4. Your commitment to exhibit your vehicle is a "Rain or Shine" commitment.
Specifically, we would like to feature representative vehicles for the following marques/years:
- Any Bates automobile
- Any Diamond T, Diamond REO or REO truck
- Any Dolson vehicle
- Fisk Nu-Klea Starlite
- Any Lansing-built Durant vehicle
- Any Greenleaf vehicle
- Any pre-WWI Oldsmobile (Preferably one curved-dash, one truck and one open touring "Limited" or Speedster)
- One representative vehicle from each subsequent decade of Oldsmobile production, through 1989, including:
- 1949 or 1950 Olds Rocket V8 sedanette
- 1961 - 64 Starfire
- 1966 Toronado
- Any REO passenger car
If you have - or know of - a vehicle that fits these guidelines and would like to have it considered for inclusion, please send me a message
including two photos of the vehicle and your contact information as soon as possible.
Thank you for your interest!

EyesOn Design receives its support from both domestic and foreign vehicle manufacturers, as well as automotive suppliers and other
loyal companies. Judging is facilitated by active and retired exterior and interior designers from leading automotive and supplier
companie
EyesOn Design was founded in 1987 with the support of design heads of GM, Ford, and Chrysler as an automotive exhibition judged
exclusively by automotive designers.
Today, we celebrate design with an ever-increasing group of designers, collectors, manufacturers, suppliers, and the general public.
About the cause:
EyesOn Design has raised over $4 million for the Detroit Institute of Opthalmology (DIO), the research arm of the Henry Ford Health
System Department of Ophthalmology. The DIO supports the visually impaired and blind of southeastern Michigan and organizes two
leading world research congresses.
The DIO congresses bring together competing researchers to share their findings, critique each other’s work, and go home with new
approaches.
The Eye and The Chip, organized with Harvard Medical School, encourages collaboration between efforts to provide artificial vision to
many people who are now blind.
The Eye, The Brain, and The Auto improves our understanding of the relationship between vision and the safe operation of vehicles, in an
attempt to reduce fatalities.
The DIO operates four support groups for adults and seniors who are visually impaired. Transportation is available for members of the
visually impaired support groups.
DIO Services include:
- Assistive Products
Distributes low vision devices. Products for sale on site.
