Been a while...

Hey guys! How have things been here? I've stepped away for almost two months. Can't believe it really, but I needed the time to just get away from it all. As much as these cars come second nature to all of you here, it really wasn't as easy for me, so I needed to give my brain a break from the land of Olds. Although I missed my friends here...

Needless to say, I was out in the garage tonight cleaning up some since it was nice weather and I started to think about this entire adventure again. Got a few parts from the W-30 sitting around...the original gas tank, holy batman partial exhaust pipes, and the aftermarket wheels/tires.

Also I have the valve covers from the 69 H/O. I know a few of you here had expressed interest in those previously. If it is something you are interested in, please let me know. Greatly prefer someone who owns one of these cars only. Whatever the market rate is...not sure really but thinking around $200.

So, what have I missed out on over the past few months? Some things that have happened here: my daughter turned 14. My wife got a promotion at work. I got new wheels and tires for "The Buffalo" which is the name that the megavan acquired from my brother. Firestone Transforce were what came on it stock, but I went to a bigger tire - Nitto Terra Grappler G2 and some NASCAR offroad wheels (both made in the USA.) And staying on the car thing...my wife ended up leaving the minivan and moving onto an SUV (made in Japan, just to balance things out...HA!)

Let me know the status of your cars. I've stayed away too long and will have too much to catch up on without some help here. Good to be back!

I am glad you are back. Is there a project in your future?

I was just thinking about you yesterday wondering if you would be back soon. Not much here going on. I did just get an original picture of our 4 speed Jetfire when it was new. I have a thread on it. Other than that, Just waiting for better weather to detail the convertible and get it listed for sale. I will likely list it here very soon. Both of the 442's need to go this year.

Thanks. I don't know... a 4x4 jet engine 1963 f-85???

I've been plenty busy around here just doing the normal family things believe it or not. However, I might get into a project someday. I'm not afraid to learn and I have some good resources if I run into trouble.

Just read that thread and posted there. That was a very nice story to come back to. You know it really doesn't look like that paint faded much at all over the years.

Thanks Troy! That is great news. I bet you are excited now that it has advanced so far. I'll go back and search your recent posts for updates.

When we were there around Christmas, all the wheels were still sitting on the shelf in the garage. Although I forget exactly what is there. She mentioned about having a sale in the spring. Lots of tools if that's your thing. Old Craftsman stuff and a bunch of mechanics specialty tool sets. She told me to take what I wanted, but I didn't feel right doing that. I did take a bunch of the larger Craftsman open ended wrenches because I didn't have the bigger sizes, but 99% of the tools are still there. Let me know if you are interested and I could meet you up there some weekend.

Hey Bill welcome back. My '69 H/O is in my warehouse waiting to be redone. My son just turned 3 and we are expecting another son in May. Hopefully that news won't affect the restoration. Been buying some parts that the car is missing and the convertible is put away for winter.

Congratulations to you and your family! It will be the springtime thaw soon, at least I'm hoping so for my northern friends.

Welcome back to the neighborhood! Maybe 2017 will be our year to meet F2F. Living in the same county and sharing the same zip code, it is really ridiculous this hasn't happened yet. I've knocked off 25 lbs since January 1 so by early spring I should be ready to see you at BrightStar for some greasy hamburgers.

How did I miss this, Brian? You need to stop over sometime to see the F-85. Still in the garage but it needs a wash. Soon.
