I don't know, see what you think.
They made four 455 's that were complete all aluminum motors.they were not offerd to the public, they put this motor in this car, because it is very rare motor..just like the hemi oldsmobile motor they made...very very rare. There are alot more auction companies then Barrett jackson. Just like the batmobile did 4.2 million, and was built for $15k. It's history your pay for.

What's the question? Yes, there were all aluminum 455 engines built by the Olds R&D engine lab, used in Can Am racing by the CRO-SAL team.

Really? 1 of 4 engines installed in a 1970 442 W-30?

There was supposedly as I recall one found in the trunk of a car and sold off Craigslist not too long ago.

I would think a person making a claim that a car came with an experimental engine is full of poo. If there's a grain of truth to it, he should be only too happy to show you.

Aside of the poorly written description, there's absolutely no logic to anything he says:

they put this motor in this car, because it is very rare motor..
So Olds installed the motor in the car because it's a rare motor? Not for any other reason, like to make the wheels turn?

Just like the batmobile did 4.2 million, and was built for $15k. It's history your pay for.
It's somewhat of a stretch to compare the Batmobile with an experimental engine that no one knows about and possibly has no documentation to it.

Anyway, what's the story on the dude?

As I said, what was the question? You didn't post anything about it being in a 1970 442 W-30 until just now.

There were 455 aluminum engines made. These were for cam-am cars. They were considered to be experimental engines. Some guy on ROP did install one in a car. Not sure if any factory car ever got one. All i can say is they are rare. Wished they would make a new olds 455 after market aluminum block with thicker main webs 2.50 mains and four bolt main caps. While they are at it make a small block 350 with 2.50 mains 4 bolt out of aluminum and a stroked crank to compliment it.
